    Could you do an episode on pelts? What is the best time to harvest a pelt and so on? I love your videos, thanks.

    I've been raising meat rabbits for 4 years now and Rabbit Pot Pie is our FAVOITE meal at this homestead... I LOVE the "individual" pie aspect!!!! Definitely going to try that! Thank you for all you do!

    I'm SO friggin' envious of your husband! He has a beautiful wife with farm/cooking skills! I would absolutely LOVE to live an off-grid lifestyle and have a great woman by my side with your skills, beauty, and seemingly traditional values!

    Great idea! Just harvested yesterday. I didn't have carrots, so I used small sweet potatoes. I didn't have green peas ready in the garden, but I did have frozen green beans. Had lions mane instead of Bella. Turned out awesome! Great rainy cold night dinner!

    The French have a term for having all of your ingredients prepared before you start cooking, it's called: Mise en place - noun - having the ingredients ready, such as cuts of meat, relishes, sauces, par-cooked items, spices, freshly chopped vegetables, and other components that are required for the menu and recipes ingredients measured out, washed, chopped and placed in individual bowls; and equipment such as spatulas and blenders prepared, and oven preheated.

    So: this is a shortcrust pastry - we make butter (but your butter looks strange: is it perhaps margarine, pale?) clarified. so warmed up, melted.
    or we use pure fat butter (ghee), which you can make yourself in preserving jars.
    I wish you a healthy, successful new year
    Kind regards from Berlin, Germany

    Looking like a very yummy recipe! We will have to try this recipe on our homestead. We have 3 acre homestead in Appalachia where we raise and sell rabbits along with a few other animals.
    We share that on our channel as well, if anyone would like to join our community.

    I don’t know how, but I just bred four of my silver fox rabbits purebred they all had their kits I bred two blue rabbits, the two blue ones with the moms, and then I bred one of the blue ones with a chocolate and I read the other blue one with a black one And then I bread a chocolate with a black one and then I bread a peanut butter looking color, kind of looks like peanut butter. I don’t know what the actual name for the color is with a black one, and every single one of my rabbits, had black, baby rabbits I am so confused

    6:05 Why leave a bit of overhang, if you're gonna cut it off at 7:48? This seems like a great use for canned rabbit.

    • @TealStoneHomestead
      @TealStoneHomestead  Před 4 měsíci

      It shrinks as it cooks. Leaving overhang ar first makes sure it doesn’t shrink too far down the sides

    when i process my meat rabbits i am seeing bloody lungs! The livers look good. Is there a disease that can cause this? I have tried googling it and couldn't find anything. Could it be how i am dispatching them? I do it very quickly and wouldn't think that could be the case. I am very concerned and your advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Does anyone have problems with ticks and lyme infections with their rabbits? I'm a wannabe rabbit raising homesteader and this is something I've wondered about.

      It’s already cooked and shredded. I usually just instant pot it on high for 45 mins 🙂

    Tiffany, do you sell rabbits for others to start raising meat rabbits? If yes, how can I reach you? Do you have a website with a contact email?
