  • I recently obtained a Frigidaire washing Machine that was broken. most of the parts still worked though, so I've decided to take it apart. Please note that this video is actually from late may of 2022, so it was a while ago.
    Also, if the beginning part is boring (because it is literally just it filling) skip to 11:11 for some action.

      @@Ififitzisitz How big is the transmission? How much oil does it hold and what type?

    • @Ififitzisitz
      @Ififitzisitz  Před rokem

      The transmission is about 6 by 6 by 6 inches, holds about a pint of oil, and it the standard WCI transmission.

    Subbed! What washer and dryer do you have? What about your dishwasher?

      I have an LG front load washing machine from 2015 and a GE hotpoint dryer from 2021. I also have a Samsung dishwasher from 2017.

    Drive motor haves a bad spot in the armature. That’s why it was humming.

      Yes I know that. If I knew any better I would’ve replaced the motor before I took it apart.

    these washers were actually recalled because the pump could burst into flames

      Unfortunately I took it apart because it was in a state of disrepair. If I find another one I will do.

    Limited edition. Must’ve been discontinued quickly. I’ve never seen a washer limited edition before. Weird.

      My uncle used to have one, but he threw it away when he needed to wash diapers for his children.
      It was a limited edition with the chrome control panel.

      @@Ififitzisitz Must’ve been bought at the same time. Also I don’t think these older Frigidaires were necessarily high quality. These older Frigidaires typically only lasted like 8-17 which is kind of low for an older washer. The older GEs usually lasted about 10-21 years before failure. While the direct drives usually last about 15-30 years. New high efficiency washers tho, my dad has one that’s 10 years old. They are more reliable than you think. Although I think the bearing is defective on it which is why the spin cycle is really loud but who knows, could be another issue. Speed Queen was probably the most reliable even in the old washer family. Probably more reliable than a direct drive. Speed Queen makes commercial units but a lot of people buy them for their house.
