  • Dear friends
Basically, I’d visit Ipoh for a least 3 times a year, they are: 1) My 2nd day Chinese New Year in-law’s visit. 2) My Cheng Beng outing to clean the tombs. 3) My trip to celebrate my mother-in-law’s birthday. Of course, I also travel to Ipoh on random occasions like meetings, etc. I like Ipoh, each time I’m in Ipoh I would make hay with sunshine, which means I would take the excuse to feature food since Ipoh is made of it. This Cheng Beng outing was no exception, I took the opportunity to make 2 episodes. This is the first one. I hope you’ll find this Bercham episode compelling. Thanks, and see you in the next video

Thanks for the great history lesson. My Chinese is very basic but thanks to your included translation I was able to enjoy your videos and the rich history and facts of all the small towns and village. Now I drive through them wondering what's their story.
Maybe the next time U do food reviews, to give a rating to those you think is exceptional, different from the usual OK hand sign.

Could not help but enjoyed watching the teowchew porridge served with a variety of braised meat with its condiments. Also the Sarawak laksa looks superdelicious !!! . Was on vacation and only had time now to watch back the past episodes from Elmo. This Bercham trip showcased Ipoh's delicacies and most - if not all - the dishes tried are mouthwatering packed !!! Yatt Lau , Mou Tak Deng 👌and so is the illustration in the beginning on the historical portion of Chinese New Village in Malaysia. Thanks Elmo.

I was there in Bercham last week too for Ching Ming. Went to a few makan spots with my ipoh relatives . To be honest , the price in Ipoh really blew my mind..it inflate beyond my expectation. Next you can try GP foodcourt , the satay, curry mee, chow kuey teow is good.

Great video as always. Love the historical introduction. Just a note without the Chinese fighting against the British colonists Malaya wouldn't have been "granted" independence. It's typical British and the US too, to abandon you even the going gets tough but at the same time steal your resources thru their British companies like Some Darby etc. They destroyed the environment while stealing your resources
