- (PART 1) We are in Seattle, Washington for our 7-day Alaskan Cruise with the Discovery Princess, the newest Princess cruise ship. Our port of calls are Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, Victoria in British Columbia Canada and a wonderful scenic cruise in the Inside Passage of Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier. We will do a full narrated tour of the ship deck by deck, what do do, what is included with your cruise, tips, embarkation, Princess Plus, the Discovery camp, drink packages, muster drill and much much more...

We’ve cruised with Royal Caribbean, Costa cruise, NCL, Carnival and Princess cruise line and we always come back and cruise with Princess. We love Princess cruise. You will have fun with any cruise..thank you for watching our videos.

How was the internet service on Discovery? Has it been upgraded to Starlink yet?
Hello There,
As far as I know, the Discovery Princess doesn’t have Starlink internet yet. The speed of the internet with the Discovery in Alaska was around 2.8 Mbps download and the upload was almost the same. You can surf the internet with no problem but if you are trying to upload a video it might take a few hours to do so.

What deck do you use when you go on an excursion?

We brought our 5 year old niece to the Royal Princess which is exactly the same as Discovery and she loved it. The kids program is amazing and she was at the Discovery Camp 2 + hours in the morning , afternoon and evening …they have so many activities but discovery doesn’t have the kids pools with squirts guns or slides like Royal Caribbean or carnival or Disney cruise. That’s the only think we don’t like from a princess cruise but the kids program is absolutely amazing.
Can I get a little more information about embarkation please?

Our arrival time was at 11am (First group) we arrived at the parking area like indicated not before 10am, took a free shuttle to the port , did a short line (12 min), went inside and then we went through security and then check in (5 minutes) and by the time we were already eating at the buffet it was around 11:50am
It was very fast. I will address the embarkation process in my second video (Part 2) next week.

Is Princess discovery a good ship for kids?

I have a second video of the Discovery Princess (Part 2) where I talk more about The Camp discovery for children and teenagers and the liaise area of the ship. If you have children, Princess is not very good for kids. I will suggests Carnival or NCL or Royal Caribbean. These cruise lines have more things for children than Princess cruise
@@exploringwithcindyanddan What ages do you feel would like Princess? We were told Disney was for young kids for example, but then there were tons of teens and multigen fans aboard. Reason I'm asking is bc we don't want to do Carnival bc of fights on the last few, Royal is a maybe for Alaska (but many of us don't care about ice rinks and VR experience) and NCL was the most costly even w the free at sea. Thank you for any input!
Well ..I’ve been cruising mainly with Princess but we’ve done Carnival, Royal, NCL and Disney Cruise. If you are traveling with under 18, I would say Disney, Carnival and Royal are great but if you are older I would suggest Princess or Celebrity Cruises (less children and more adult activities). I am 47 and my husband is 54 but we do cruise with my parents 77 and 82yrs and we all enjoy Princess cruise.
Royal Caribbean is great but a lot of activities are for younger people. We like Princess because you don’t see drunk/loud passengers all over the ship and Princess average age is between 45-75. So it just depends what you are looking for, what do you enjoy doing in a cruise?
