    That's kind of interesting, I don't remember sterling silver being that purple. I just checked my swatch book and it's closer to a blue grey shade. I assume it looks more blue on other papers like OG Tomoe?

      I've just swatched Sterling Silver on a handful of various papers and you're right - most look more blue-grey. Great observation!

      @@INCWorksIf you'll let me know some colors, brands, or styles you're interested in (including your overpriced list!) I'd be happy to send you a new box of samples, I'm overflowing.

    a club for ink samples sounds absolutely delightful. I just recently introduced a friend to watercolor dot cards and their first question was "why don't more products offer samples like this??"

      Right? People like to try before they buy. That said, I think Daniel Smith charges way too much for their dot sheets.

    I do miss my fountain pen days, I am so out of practice now my handwriting looks like a serial killer's scrawl. i do admire your penmanship. Your use of the word purple now has the Donnie and Marie cover of Deep Purple running through my head. Also the song Hush by Deep Purple. It's a strange combination of songs to be sure.
    If you aren't too creeped out by needles, you could try checking out an acupuncturist for your allergies. My acupuncturist really helped me with mine. The herbs are in tablet form, you don't have to brew something that looks like the scrapings from a forest floor and tastes like it too any more. LOL

      Thanks for the suggestions, Sosumi. It looks like this time it's a bug/cold/flu. But I'm glad to know those options are available.
      Hehe. It's usually in the kitchen when earworms strike for me. For months I had 'All of Me' and 'As It Was' competing to be my cooking theme. 🍳🥓☕

    Wow a whole INCwork with purple blacks! Have you been peeking in my sketchbook? 😂 I love to sketch loosely with a purple black, then wet my finger or use a damp brush to smudge out a midtone/ shadow. It’s especially handy when I’m out and about or stealth-doodleing in boring meetings. Plus I sometimes sketch over my old memo pads and ranty journal entries, using more water-can be cathartic. Unfortunately mine only comes from one high street store in what is known as British ‘universal’ cartridges. Which only fit in their super-cheap own brand pens. So to fill my fude pen or use with dip pens I have to empty a pack of them into a sample tube. Both annoying and adding to the plastic mountain. So I’d love to have a bottle of Diamine purple black, maybe experiment with other colourful blacks… but which ones? I can’t find anyone swatching them with water and there are so many I can’t try them all😢 the choice paralysis is real, sister!😂

      😅@'stealth-doodling'.
      Good idea about watering the inks. I am kicking myself for not including washy-swatches. The next installment is already recorded, but - going forward - I should figure out a way to include them in these sessions.

      Oh cool, looking forward to seeing how you play! No regrets here though, your swatches are a thing of beauty- and maybe watery washes could be a sequel?

    I’m in love with the Colorversw From Cali. That’s and the Sterling Silver.
    You’re actually very good at purple prose! Bravo!💜😊
    The gold sheening on the darker inks looks really nice when dry. How are you liking the pen? The 1.5mm looks a bit challenging if it were in my hands😅
    Hope you feel better soon!!

      Thanks! 😀I feel the 1.5 is - like you said - challenging. However, that's the smallest size available in this Pilot Parallel. So I'm hoping to get a different brand/model fountain pen with a 1.1 stub nib at some point. I expect that would suit me better.

      @@INCWorks this is all so interesting to me-the parallel….is it designed for a rotunda calligraphy? I’m genuinely intrigued!

    • @INCWorks
      @INCWorks  Před měsícem +1

      @@artonthecreek Is 'rotunda' the same as 'blackletter' calligraphy? Going by what I just found while watching a few videos, I'd say people are using the Pilot Parallels (which go up to 6mm) for that purpose. How cool would it be to have that skill? 🤩

    • @artonthecreek
      @artonthecreek Před měsícem +1

      @@INCWorks similar style, yes! I’ve tried calligraphy…..that’s all I have to say about that!😂😩 I can’t even imagine a 6mm pen!🤯 I think these broad, parallel nibs would be very unique to try using for an entire art piece . Cool!!
