This serial was a blessing in disguise. Kokila was frustrated her entire youth cause she was dark skinned and her husband didn't work. She had an inferiority complex. Now when her son took charge of their family business.. She finally had the upper hand in family and thus she wanted an uneducated naive girl she could always manipulate and thus implying she always had her claws in her son. A lesson that all girls need to learn is to be independent and look at the entire familys nature and all aspects before being integrated in.

Kokila was the real villain. She was rude and unfair. She disregarded her own son’s feelings, forced him to marry a girl he didn’t even like, hid truth about that girl from her son and made both Gopi and Rashi’s life a hell in different ways. She was unhappy in her own married life and constantly kept trying to project it into others’ lives who had little to no say in front of her.
She always blamed Rashi and her mom whereas her own children were horrible as humans. She couldn’t give good upbringing to her own children but expected others to be perfect and obey all her commands. She was the epitome of toxicity but the show always portrayed her as a just, fair, strict but loving person.
