    This is crazy. Insurance is very high in these areas. I am in PA and I pay less than $800 per year. To pay $2500 to $500 a year for insurance is crazy. This may deter my wife and I from buying a home when we move there.

    How does rebuilding older house affect insurance? For insurance if original home of 1983 rebuilt in 2019? Is the the foundation and ground infrastructure age a factor?

    If a person always rent apartment never own a house before, now he wants to buy a new house, would you list all the items that he need to ask the builder such as : What kind of roof attachment, hurricane shutter, impact window, ...... what else ? so he can get the low house insurance.

      Hi L Spence! Insurers can give great options to alleviate some of your premium such as deductible amounts for collision and comprehensive coverages. A great insurance agent will explain your coverages in Florida since every state is different and the best options to fit your needs! Best of luck with your move to Florida!

    I was told 15 year old roof and you can't get a roof insured, but another realtor said that wasn't true. Keep shopping insurance companies or have the roof excluded. 100 year old metal roofs or tile roofs on historic homes don't be to be replaced and shouldn't be if they are intact.

    Your right, builders cut corners

    • @tonibenton
      @tonibenton Před 4 lety

      Local insurance agents can tell you which builders are top notch based on their construction standards and claims history. I've assisted many buyers with new construction. Local insurers are impressed with M/I Homes and they're amazing during the final walk through inspection. Some builders may have complaints... always do your due diligence and look for ratings of past buyers. Ask your insurance agent too!

    Ha, I just learned because I had a claim that my homeowner's insurance dropped my policy and I have been searching for 2 days and it's been difficult because I had a claim so to me insurance is a scam because in ALL the years I paid for insurance they where happy ONE claim and I get dropped.

      Tampa Bay is still an affordable place to live. We have homes for all budgets and there are many suburbs outside of Tampa with highly rated public schools (if needed) and centrally located to large employers. A great Realtor can help you navigate that. : )
