Google Ads is an online advertising platform developed by Google, where advertisers bid to display brief advertisements, service offerings, product listings, or videos to web users.
About call ads
Call ads are designed to encourage people to call your business, and can appear only on devices that make phone calls. When a potential customer clicks your ad, the ad places a call to you from their device.
How it works
Call reporting-which is available only on the Search Network-uses Google forwarding numbers (GFNs) to measure the performance of your call extension or call ad. When you turn on call reporting, we’ll assign a Google forwarding phone number to your ad. That way, you’ll be able to see the details of your calls, and count them as conversions.
How a call ad works
Your ad wins an auction and is shown on the Search Network.
Someone taps the ad.
That person’s mobile phone dialer opens with the number set (either your own number or a GFN, depending on your settings).
The person taps the call button to place the call.
Calls using a GFN should be counted as a phone call in your reporting. Calls where the duration meets the minimum requirement set in your account for a conversion will be reported as a conversion on the date the ad was shown. For example, someone is shown your ad on August 5 and writes down the GFN, but doesn’t call until August 10 and has a 2-minute call with your business. On August 10, you would have one phone call reported and a call conversion reported on August 5 because the call met your 30-second requirement.
When you create your ads, you'll be asked to enter the following information:
Two headlines (optional, but recommended)
Your business name
Your phone number
Two lines of description text
A display path (optional)
A Final URL (optional, but recommended. If provided, will show a user-facing link to the webpage)
A verification URL, which is the URL of a webpage that includes your business phone number.
These fields are eligible to show when your ad appears on mobile devices, but some may be omitted in order to make the most of the smaller screen space on these devices.
Select extensions, including location extensions, structured snippet extensions, and callout extensions, are also eligible to show with your ad. Extensions expand your ad with more information and can give your ad greater visibility and prominence on the search results page. Clicks on location extensions will send people to your location page. There's no cost to add them, and it is recommended that you add all extensions that are relevant to your business. Clicks on your ad (including your extension) will be charged as usual. To learn more about extensions, skip to About extensions.
Headline clicks on call ads initiate calls directly to your business and don't send customers to your website landing page. When you enter your verification URL, which can be the landing page URL for your business, that's only to verify your ad and phone number. It will not be directly displayed on your ad.

@@TradesmanDigitalMarketing I was wondering If you could help me out? I'm also trying to run a "sponsored ad" On the google my business three pack. There are some businesses that rank higher here due to have sponsored listings. I can't find the option to run this type of campaign on the google ads dashboard. Any advice? Thank you again. - Dillon.
Yeah that's a tough position as google takes most of the control with local search ads. I would recommend trying a different campaign style if you want more control.

Hi, really great video many thanks! Couple of questions:
When testing the call button on our add the telephone number it calls is different to our telephone number. I assume this is so google can record it. However, do you not think that customers worry and wonder why the numbers are not the same?
Secondly, our add is into its 2nd day of being active (After beeing approved. There have been zero impressions, do you think i should be concerned / might have done something incorrrectly?
Many thanks
Thanks and most people don't care however if this is a big issue for you, you can use call rail for permanent tracking numbers. Regarding question #2 Depends on the account and search volume, If you ads are still being approved it might just take another day, but its hard to give you a precise as I cant see the settings or the account
What should the daily budget be for service businesses in the US? Is $40 per day safe? And does the cost per day decrease as we optimize the campaign?
Depends on the cost per click. We recommend at least 10 click a day to ensure your getting enough data to optimize the account in a timely matter. The cost per lead will decrease over time as the account continues to optimize
this was are realy
yo yo, can you do some videos on Adwords, G4A and CallRail integration setup? I'm also hoping the comment helps you grow your channel. Thanks
First. Great video. I followed it step by step 30 days and generated a 20 clicks that turned into 6 sales. Here’s the question though . My ad is tracking both phone calls and calls from my website. I do plan to do a search on the campaign highlighting my website, but I expect that to be separate from my car only campaign. How do I separate these out or will I have in this current campaign, and create two separate ones?
Thanks and I would recommend separating them into new campaigns. It's much easier to manage and optimize results.
Can you separate them at this point!
Nope you'll have to turn one off and create a new campaign. You could leave them in separate ad groups but that might be a little tricky to manage later on.
QQ: if you're running ads for similar service business in same area, how does that affect their leads. ie does it clash, and do you cap it at a certain number of clients in each niche in same location?
It's competes and drives the price higher that's why we only take on one client per location
@@TradesmanDigitalMarketing gotcha, thanks
I didn't see anything about how to track conversions. How do we set that up?
You can check out this video for conversion tracking czcams.com/video/87GnFwew7es/video.html
What are you clicking on at 9:46 to exit the keyword planner and go to the bidding page? Do we need to check the box by our provided keywords before clicking away? Thanks.
I opened the keyword planner in a new tab on google chrome so I just switched back from it.
@@TradesmanDigitalMarketing Ok, you went to another tab, Got it thanks. Sorry to pester you, but I've chosen you as my guide. Cheers
No problem best of luck
how do i actually track calls made from my ads? as in actually find data on the caller, example the phone number they call from so i could know if i am getting returns from my ads.
Google automatically tracks calls for call only campaigns provided you are in a country that supports call forwarding. We like to use a software called callrail. This easily allows us to track everything.
Good day. What are ad extensions and should you use them?
They are parts of your google ad that can sometimes appear and make your ad much larger. You should definitely use them if they are relevant to your services
I put my daily budget to $100 does that mean it will use that much every day? I’m not trynna use that much at first.
Do you offer a service to set this all up for a business? I followed what you did but I want to make sure IT’s completely correct and ready.
It can use the full $100 and possibly more. If your interested in us setting up your campaign email us at matthewmiller@tradesmandigitalmarketing.ca
@@TradesmanDigitalMarketing done email sent 👍
If I'm running home appliance services ad and there is so many service like washing machine repair service, fridge service, oven,A.c service so there is plenty number of services I provide please guide me how we will make the structure in Google ads campaign for the call ads, like for ad group how many ad group should I create with the keywords please help🙏
That's a tough question I would look at what service is most profitable and make them into ad groups according to that. We have a course that dives deeper into this
which bidding strategy will best suit for call ads only campaign ( Account is new) kindly answer, thanks.
We prefer Max clicks to collect data, then switch it over to target cpa once we have 30 conversions.
@@TradesmanDigitalMarketing Thanks for reply
do you offer the services to set up and optimise ads? shopping ads too for e-commerce?
We do offer services to setup and manage call campaigns. We don't offer e-com services. If your interested email me at matthewmiller@tradesmandigitalmarketing.ca
do you offer the services to set up and optimise ads?
@@bestqualityplumbinginc2843 We do email us at matthewmiller@tradesmandigitalmarketing.ca if your interested
Why we need to use callout and structure snippts extension in call only ads campaign
I think extension are more useful in Responsive ads.
Plz reply
You don't have to use them. They do make your ad bigger and more likely to be seen which helps with click through rates and quality scores, which usually translates to a lower cost per click and lower cost per lead
Thank you for reply bro....But the problem is that I'm running a campaign for Moving And Storage company and In India there is lots of High Compitation in that business and cpc is also so high ..so if i get a only clicks on extensions instead of caĺls than i think my client will do decide😂😂
Like I normally say "follow the data" it might be better without any extensions whatsoever even possibly removing the website extension
At nine minutes and 58 seconds when you’re talking about bidding strategy, should you be selecting, clicks or calls?
Clicks, you want to get as much data the first month as possible. Then switch it over to target cpa
So u don’t suggest going manual bidding?
Right now I’ve got 22 clicks with 1060 impressions
Nope I recommend max clicks and then target cpa. You can still use manual bidding but i find for most scenarios max clicks works better for most people.
I didn’t make more then two ad groups my company is a home cleaning company I don’t think it would need more then even one group but I made two is that good ?
It really depends on the search terms your going after. Having only two ad groups would more than likely limit impressions and lead to a very slow optimization process. There's always exceptions to this rule provided you have enough search volume.
@@TradesmanDigitalMarketing there’s just not enough key selling keywords for the business service. Like most people just Google “house cleaning near me” so I got all these types of ads but in two different ad groups and I add on as I get impressions from different keywords they suggest
That's will work but it will make it difficult to optimize later on once you max out your 3 ads in each ad group. I normally suggest adding as many ad groups as you need to keep the ad copy relevant to the keywords.
Hello, I followed the instruction but the keywords' status in the Search Keywords tab show this
"This keyword is eligible to run ads
Ad showing in search results?
error
An ad isn’t showing now
We don’t know why your ads aren’t showing for this search. Learn more"
Do you know how to fix this?
I own a cleaning business I’m targeting office cleanings what names you suggest
Commercial office cleaning could be a potential keyword
@@TradesmanDigitalMarketing I put that on there , thanks ! 😁
I wonder if this video will get 1000 likes? 🤔
Do you have a number where I can reach you?
This campaign is charging me a lot of money
