My host parents got in late the day before Thanksgiving, it was earlier than planned. The baby came so quick (2min), she said I’m gonna surprise my family with the baby tomorrow at my parent's house. And indeed it was a big surprise to everyone. No one expected us with the baby already.

With everyone’s surprise, it’s possible that the mother of the baby lives out of state or not near her family. So, maybe she never told them she was pregnant. Because she told her dad “I’ve been working on it for 9 months” It’s like they really didn’t know about her pregnancy at all.

Im more baffled about the fact that the child was born about 30 ish HOURS ago and both the child AND the mother are already out of the hospital, fucking hwat.
Unless it was a midwife birth at the center or home. I was home in less than 12 hours after my boys were born and was able to cuddle and recover in the comfort of my own home 😊
I was in the hospital, 3 normal births, for 3 days each. The doctors said too much can happen early on to push the mom and baby out the door. Women can hemorrhage in that first day. Why would you go wandering around with a 1 day old.
Depending on what country you even have to pay to even hold your own baby. So rushing home are the norm for some because the hospital will bleed you dry for no reasons.
What? I left the hospital after 10 hours.
I was admitted at 10am and left at 6pm after a natural birth! Maybe they let me out early as my mum was diagnosed in the same hospital that day with lung cancer 😢
How does no one walk in and immediately see the mom’s belly is nearly flat? 😂

WHY IS EVERYONE COMMENTING ON HOW SHE LOOKS THE DAY AFTER BIRTH. If you birth naturally with no complications, your body recovers better. You can literally walk around and feel great the day after. She OBVIOUSLY didn’t have a c-section!
Nobody said you cannot walk around a day after giving birth, she still looks good for just giving birth, she doesn't even look pregnant, which most women still look 5-6 months pregnant the day after a baby is born. I'm thinking she didn't show much during her pregnancy anyway though, because Nobody noticed she wasn't pregnant until they saw the baby. When they were looking at her nobody said "hey were did your baby bump go." If you're not showing much when you are 9 months pregnant, you're not going to be showing much after giving birth either. Everyone knows you can walk after giving birth, especially if it was an easy labor. Sounds like hers was fast since she gave birth 90 seconds after getting to the hospital.
Well, I had a radical hysterectomy due to cancer and had to be out of the hospital in less than 24 hours as it was considered an outpatient procedure. Same thing with my gastric bypass a year early, and I was a type I diabetic in my late 40s. I guess if you don't have complications, they want you out. To be honest, I felt less pain afterward from both surgeries combined than I have with an abscessed tooth. Having each surgery done laparoscopically helped, too.
If the mom had a c-section, I think she might have stayed an extra day or 2.

Probably hid it from them. Maybe lived out of state or wasn't around for the last few months when you get big

Too many people around a newborn!!! He’s going to end up back in the hospital in a less than 2 weeks with respiratory issues.
I never took my kids out of the house for the first 30 days and I only let very limited number of people in during that time….pretty much Grandparents only.
It was a good 60 days at least before I allowed others (outside of immediate family) to hold my kids.
Newbies need time to develop antibodies and immune systems!!!
