Its a few days to Madaraka day, the day Kenya was freed from the colonial rule. However, some of those who strongly resisted British colonialists are still living in poverty and desperation. One such community that suffered torture is the Talai community of rift valley who refer to themselves as Government Internally Displaced Persons (GIDPs).

I was pleasantly surprised when I heard my Luo buddy speaking pure Kikuyu! These things make me feel a happiness I cannot define. They remind me that we are all the same people just language and culture may differ, but deep down we are brothers.
