    Are you wanting to fit a Quaife LSD (limited slip differential) to gain more traction? In this video I show you whats involved and go through the process of changing the standard differential out for the Quaife LSD unit. I also go through and disassemble clean then replace all the bearings in the m32 transmission. M32 is the model of gearbox and Quaife is a leading manufacturer of performance gearbox's/LSD's. They also have a lifetime warranty on the LSD! I try and keep it simple and straight forward to understand.
    Let me know what you guys think of the vid.....took ages to make and edit so all your feedback is much appreciated!
    Thanks alot :)

      Thanks, I appreciate the comment. For reference this gearbox is still working well 5 years on. Even tho I don't do huge milage in my vxr when I do drive it I kick it's head in so to speak. 310hp with around 100 5000rmp launches! If doing this Box again I would make the bearing clearances slightly tighter. SLIGHTLY.

      Good vid bud. So to fit the lsd, the gearbox can be left on the car but all I have to do is pull driveshafts? Nothing else? Obviously I’m gonna drain the oil first before doing anything but just pull out driveshafts is all I do before fitting the lsd?

    Nice video, not that I can do it myself but it’s good to see how it’s done. I have the M32 in my Fiat Bravo Tjet, I’m at 88k and getting some slight whining in 2nd and 4th, no other issues. Would you recommend changing the oil and see if that helps? I don’t think it’s ever been changed. I’m looking to fit an lsd in a few months, how is it to drive with it? Does it affect the every day drive? Thanks

      @boosthit811  Před 5 lety

      Hi, thanks. Changing the oil may help, worth a try. Im using the quaife auto torque biasing diff so its very easy driving/turning etc. They use a gear system so there is no "clutch style" disc packs that can cause scuffing or heavy steering when turning (more suited to track/race) but for me the main bonus of an ATB diff is they don't wear out.

    How did you actually measured each gear packages shim clearances?

    • @boosthit811
      @boosthit811  Před 4 lety +1

      As far as I'm aware all you can do is eather measure shaft end float or go by feel (drag on shafts while turning) most I know go by feel.....I.e too tight shft will require alot of effort to turn and or be unable to turn by hand. Too loose and shaft require very little effort to turn and or have play plus almost sounds loose as turning. In that video I setup a bit on the loose side. But engine and box get hammered and so far so good.

      The 6th gear pair are on the end of the shaft's close to the small end case bearings so it's the easiest gear to get off. If it's the m32 gearbox then should be the same.
