Moab 2024- The Drive Out and Behind the Rocks

- Moab 2024 was pretty epic. Me and Andrew H Smith had an amazing trip. For the most part things went great but we did have a few issues. That is to be expected on a week long trip away. It didn't stop us from making some amazing memories. H's buddy John joined us as well and it was awesome getting to know him and spending the week out there with him. It was a long drive but without a doubt worth it. We hit up Behind the Rocks on the first day. It was a great start to the trip.

Yall got to attempt to go up high dive next time. I drove up it a few years ago in my 2019 turbo s.
I went up it 2 years ago. We went up Pritchett Canyon on day 4 and I was going to go up it again that day but did not get the chance to because of... well, stay tuned to find out why. lol
@@SouthernLandRiders its such a fun climb thats pretty intimidating. My machine was a week old when it happened. 😂
@@A1UTV yeah there is a certain way you have to hit it. It is a lot trickier than it looks.
I’ve got a sneaking suspicion that H drove a little more than you have him credit for on the way out there. Not sure why😂😂😂
Maybe it was more like 28 hours total to 2 hours for H. lol
Have you guys done Rusty Nail? And can someone tell me if Utah still requires a permit to drive a SxS anywhere in their state? I love Moab and can’t wait to go back.
We did Rusty Nail on day 3. It was my favorite trail of the trip. Yes, you have to have a permit and something new is you have to take a online course and pass to be able to ride on the street in Moab.
I saw that a couple of years back. I think it’s a one time thing that is good for life for those that live outside of Utah. We did Rusty Nail a few times. The first time was when we had our Jeep many, many years ago (when the Lion’s Back was still open). We did the trail backwards (going the wrong way) the first time. That’s a nasty drop off along the side there. 🙀 That is one of our favorites but Pritchett Canyon is our #1 favorite. Did it in the Jeep and the SxS. I’m amazed at how well the SxS performed on trails. Pictures just can’t justify what the steepness is really like. I’ve watched Charity in her own rig and she is doing great. Glad she is enjoying doing it on her own. Looks like you trained her well. 👍👏 Great job you guys!
Did you enter the trail for behind the rocks from the hole in the wall . Did you drive the sxs on the road to the hole in the wall
We had a VRBO house in town and drove from there. We entered at the hole in wall side and went down Pritchett Canyon after Behind the Rocks. We went the opposite direction on day 4.
