please be critical while watching this. many of the techniques used in this are manipulative in order for people to give them money. the controversies are being used by Asian Boss as a way to garner comments (and likes) like this one, so people are even more willing to give them money because they're against something (a vocal minority, as you said it - or as they said 'mainstream media' or 'big corporations' and the need to 'fight them')

10 bucks a month is too much to ask in this environment, why don't you offer some lower tiers like a lot of patreons do, I'm sure a lot of people will be willing to pay 2-3 bucks a month, you'll get more support that way, especially with your subscriber count.
actually yeah, i think this is a good suggestion. Asian Boss has many supporters and not all of them can budget in $10 a month for this, but $2 or $3 a month for a lower tier would work for a large number of viewers and that unlocks a lot of monetary support. I suggest Asian Boss provides more tier options.

I have to admit, AB content has been so lacklustre and recycled content of "Do [insert asian society] like foriegners". I know its what was popular, but those of us who have grown since your inception have also grown up. I just don't think youre going deep enough with the content being made, and i understand its not easy. However it just doesn't match up to the mission statement.

I disagree. Gong deep doesn't mean politics. What's lacking geopolitically is understanding of each other as PEOPLE. If we can see our HUGE similarities, then we can see the idiocy of conflict. Asian Boss allows some of that understanding to happen. KEEP it simple.
Actually that's what is refreshing with AB. They just present what is as it is. They don't employ artistic editing and background music to create drama. If that's what you're looking for then there are a lot of yt channels that do. Everyday life in the real world is quite mundane. Do you think those content creator that you see in insta or x or even here in ty with hard hitting content is not scripted, of course they are and they are artistically edited. If you like those effects then go that channel. AB is lackluster of course it is. But does it deliver the facts and message, of every single time. You'll say what message they didn't even give conclusion. It's because they are leaving it to the audience to have their own conclusion. Well you say they lack facts. That's why comment section is open. But for you say that they should to this and it should be that is absurd. If you think they are lackluster to a certain issue then right those missing facts in the. That is how you start a health and mind stimulating discussion. But if just post a whiny, complaining comments, the comment section is not the right place to do it. You should go to police or if you funds go to court then file your complaints for AB presenting a lackluster documentary. And while you're at it include also how you were emotionally and psychologically damage/affected because of lacklusterness and repeatitive of AB.đą

biasness is extremely complicated, especially through language barriers and their intricacies. not only that, people's subjective or objective opinions-whether they're either based on experiences, facts, or even baseless assumptions (worst prejudices)-extremely black/white comments expressed well can heavily influence *impressionable* individuals into a black hole of ignorance. the first few minutes of this video expresses that exact frustration, which then transitions to the continual goal of Asian Boss. in this age of technology and interconnectedness, i really appreciate the transparent and upfront approach your channel strives to show. thank you!

@@arishem555 The fact is that CZcams simply isn't as profitable as it used to be so many content creators have to figure out creative ways to stay afloat. There are clear benefits to them utilizing their own platform including 100% editorial control over their videos. They can make their videos and not have to worry about things like demonetization, copyright trolls, or the ridiculous number of CZcams bots among other things. College Humor/Dropout did it. Other creators do something similar by hocking their Patreons. Stop hating.
Anyone or the media has biases. The key question is whether we recognize and acknowledge this fact. Can interviews authentically represent the intervieweeâs thoughts? The crucial point lies not in so-called freedom of speech or whether the interviewee can express themselves freely, but rather in the initial choice of questions. Street interviews, as a brief form of communication, are not suitable for discussing universal social issues because these issues are complex. How we understand and interpret them depends on the perspective we adopt. Unfortunately, interviewers often lock in their perspective from the outset, asking a group of Asians to answer Western questions from a Western viewpoint. This approach doesnât resolve misunderstandings and biases between East and West; instead, it reinforces them. If Westerners genuinely want to eliminate bias against Asians, they should adjust their perspective and take an interest in Asian issues, rather than expecting Asians to answer Western questions.

Also, I totally empathize with the frustration bubbling behind the scenes, but this video objectively comes off on the bitter-side. With the benefit of editing, and doing as many takes as needed, I encourage you to be more diligent in taking the high road, and maintaining a general air of positivity rather than the audience being able to FEEL the anger (or frustration more accurately) through the screen. Where those accusers find those unfounded accusations? Likely they themselves are doing such demeaning stuff or imagine doing it if they are in Asian Boss position. As a long-time former fan who unfollowed this year because I got tired of the lack of creativity in topics being covered, I believe that:
â you pay your workers
â your street interviewees are legit
â you can have greater social impact if you get more holistic in topics covered, i.e., do away with the passe topics when covering South East Asia or South Asia. As someone who is in Asia, the deeply ingrained biases are glaring and it's been going on for too long that it's sad that the channel has not grown enough to cover a variety of topics.
I admire and believe in your cause and your âWhyâ for existing. Great video to explain and also advocate.

I will leave some advice when something is good.
People will try to duplicate or copy it, and often, it tends to lose it original authenticity.
If one attempts to persuade the wrong people out of desperate, one will lose.

I really do appreciate the fact that you and this company show the real face and outlook of Asia that barely gets any coverage from any main stream big box news companies. Plus, with all the videos that are posted, even if we have friends and family from those counties, that's just 1 person's view. I can't get news our outlooks from Japan because obviously I don't know the language very well nor do I know the customs by heart, but this channel really allows us to get a real good inside look at the country and the hot topics going on. Keep going and keep pushing hard Asian Boss team. I really did learn a few things just by watching your videos. Especially about the work culture in China. I had absolutely no idea how that system worked until I saw the videos of how the work line is and this also includes about the dating life for women over 30.

If you have a channel with 4M subscribers and after years of working on it you donât understand what content brings in the coins then youâre doing something wrong and itâs not the viewersâ fault.

An idea for fundraising - even if you don't make your merch free to members, I'm still happy to buy them with my own money! Merch has worked well for many amazing channels making high-quality content with a large fan base (like Kurzgesagt). I think if Asian Boss did it, it would be successful as well (and a good way for fans to spread the word)!

I remember seeing a comment a while ago saying that this channel is purposely picking topics & interviewees to make certain country look good & other South-East Asian countries look bad. I couldn't believe that ppl would think that. I believe they are doing their best with the resources they have. People tend to be more shy or reserved in many Asian countries. It's really hard to find people to do spontaneous street interviews. And the questions/tipics that were dealt with in this channel were all topics that I was already aware of as issues that are common in that particular society. Some of the issues may not be topics that some people of that country like to talk about, but that country/society is already known for that issue anyway. So I found it very interesting to hear what the local ppl think about such topics, because I always wondered about these issies, but just never had any chance to ask any local ppl about it.
Anyway, so THANK YOU ASIAN BOSS. I'm Korean living in Australia, & always watching with my Aussie husband too.

I confess, for a long time I thought that Asian Boss was just another source of entertainment. Now Iâm thinking this could actually be really valuable, making any death threats all the more insane, for example. Not that they are ever anything but. I almost never subscribe to anything that costs money, mostly because Iâve lost my belief in humanity, but this video was convincing enough that it seriously made me reconsider my hard line.
