The US Air Force's Aggressor squadrons came to being in the mid-1970s and were part of wider push by the Nellis Mafia to improve the performance and capabilities of the Tactical Air Forces. They flew T-38As and then F-5Es in the white world... and some flew MiGs in the black world.
This short film brings together contemporary film, synthesised music, and soundbites from three of the first Aggressor pilots to create a sense of how things were at the time.
It's a precursor to a more detailed retelling of the Aggressor story, soon to be published here on 10 Percent True.

Agree. There is something about the Tigershark...

@@10percenttrue The Tigershark was the the F-20. The F-5E/F was called the Tiger II. The F-5E was the greatest jet fighter ever built. It couldn't carry much very far, had a terrible radar, and was only moderately fast and maneuverable. But still, it was the greatest jet fighter ever built. All sarcasm aside, it was an extremely fun airplane to fly. Unfortunately, it was like a late 70s Corvette compared to Ferraris and Lamborghinis.

@@10percenttrue The first narrator was Earl "Obi Wan" Henderson. I can't place the voices of the second two. The pilot climbing into the jet at 3:12 was Capt Jeff "Hollywood" Henderson, a member of my Aggressor class. The pilot at 5:40 was Lt Col Jim Nuber, 65th Aggressor Squadron commander in 1987. The pilot to his right at 5:37 was, I think, Capt Disco Dan Sullivan. I haven't seen Dan since he left the Aggressors in 1987, so I can't 100% remember what he looked like.
