Joslin Smith | Four people taken in for questioning in missing six-year-old's case

- Western Cape police say four people, two men and two women, have been taken in for questioning in connection with the disappearance of Joslin Smith from Saldanha Bay.
The Grade 1 pupil went missing on February 19, 2024.
A massive search operation involving various police units, the navy, and community members has been under way for the past two weeks.

Why does South Africa not have a Public Sexual Offenders registry? All sexual offenders and child abusers should be mandated to register when they move into an area so that any member of the public can look up the information. If the offender doesn't register their address, it's immediately back to jail before they even have the chance to commit their next crime.
The UK has Sarah's Law named after the young child Sarah who was kidnapped and murdered and America has Megan's Law named after the young victim Megan who was also assaulted and murdered. We had our own case a few years ago where the missing child was found weeks later but was being kept next door by the neighbor all along but their life had already been destroyed by then. When is south african law going to catch up and stop the assault on children? We deserve to know who is living in our communities and who is a risk to our children.

The problem is that you compare South Africa to western countries. Sadly, you're not aware that South Africa is well advanced. When approaching issues about South Africa, you should make sure that you're neutral and don't have the John Steenhuisen mentality. South Africa does have the sexual offenders register.

Joshlyn, s mom is going to battle in prison, other inmates don't like when you are in prison for harming a child and the same goes to the boyfriend, you are going to be hunted the rest of your life Miss Smith, what you have done has hurt an entire nation of people who loved that precious little girl and you took her future away

Hopefully just as many resources and coverage go to other missing children who havent made it past a poster on twitter, because there are hundreds if not thousands, hopefully they get just as much attention.
Sadest thing ever... she has been taken out of the country that day already. Drugged, Brown contacts put in her eyes, wig...my heart breaks for this little girl.

The police and navy have only been deployed now. She has been missing for two weeks yet not important enough for the SAPS to have deployed two weeks ago.
