I love that you did a black back ground on this page. It makes everything pop. I just finished this color a long with you. I wish I could display my pages to you, but my Facebook and Instagram accounts have been compromised too many times so I no longer use them.
I am so impressed with the quality of your coloring. I am humbled. Just joined your FB group. I have been coloring for many years now but not as good as yours. What is the pen you are using for black background?
Karen I love your color alongside… could you put a list of the pencils you use in the video description so we can gather them to use along with you? That would be very helpful to see the color choices and follow along with you - I loose my momentum when I have to stop the video and try to find the next colored pencil! Thank you for your wonderful videos, I have learned so much from you!
This is absolutely gorgeous. I have just purchased the book (arriving today!) ... I see you coloured the background in pencil before using the Posca pen. :) I've never used Posca in my colouring books, so keen to try it. Would it work ok with a 'cheap' pencil... ie. crayola or something like that. Would rather not use my Faber Castell if I'm just going to cover it. I have a Black Posca (8mm Broad) pen... would this work or would you suggest something else? Love your work :)
Enjoy your new book! 📚 The pencil underneath helps give it a smooth finish, I think a cheaper pencil will work just fine. With the posca, you may need something a little smaller for the little nooks and crannies but the big size will work well with the open spaces 😁❤️
Hello! I want to mention that I really like the way you colored this page! I am working on the same one and learned much about blending from your video. I have been keen on drawing for a long time and finally decided to try to master it a bit more. I wanted to ask about the background of this page as it's the only thing left for me, does the black marker leak on the other side of the paper? I also have markers, but I think they might be too strong for this paper.
Thank you so much lovely. So I haven’t had any issues with posca going through my pages in this book. I guess just make sure you don’t go over the same area too much. So this is a paint marker. If you are using an alcohol marker then that will go through to the other side ❤️ Hope that’s helpful 🤗
Hi Annie and thank you. I don’t actually use anything other than my pencils. Prismas are so beautifully creamy they burnish quite easily as you blend 😁 and if they haven’t, then you can go over with your lightest colour in your combo and use that to burnish 😊

Hi Dianne, thank you so much, I appreciate it. Off the top of my head I’d say it was a black posca paint pen used for the background 😁
Lovely!
Thank you 😊
Love this
Thank you 😊
Que c'est beau!
Thank you ❤️

@@MyColourfulCountryLife Thank you for the answer! Have a great day! 🥰
Karen may I ask what you use to burnish your work? I am in awe at your talent!

when I added a Posca black background over pencil it looked streaky is there a trick I am missing Karen?
Ooh no it should go on smoothly over the pencil. Hmm, is the posca pen drying up perhaps?
This is really pretty. Why do you put down a layer of pencil before using the Posca pen?
Thank you. I explain it all at the end of the video 😁
@@MyColourfulCountryLife Oops! Didn’t watch the very end. Thank you!
Haha all good 🤗
What did you use to make a black background?
It’s in the video 😁
