All renditions wonderful. Talent packed 30 mins. But I have to say, not taking away anything from other singers, to me, Pav just has it all. Power, range, expression, presence. Love him. And a giving yet imperfect man (and we all are) who was also unpretentious and genuine.

Should have used Franco Corelli as an example of a tenor singing "La Fleur que tu M'avais" Kaufmann has the worst technique of any contemporary tenor ahead of José Cura. I have no idea how he is still singing, at least Cura knew when to quit and go back to what he does best is direct.

Villazon was amazing performing this beautiful Lehar composition. Such stage presence too! Wonderful voice. Wonderful song. It is SUCH a familiar piece of music which became popular many years ago. I remember my mother when I was a child ( now 76) singing and humming this in English translation, while she went about her chores. So many of you must remember that. Jonathan Antoine version on the same song makes Villazon sing like an amateur reminding me more of a clown performance. The guy just can´t sing lieder music, he´s hopeless.

Does "Dein ist mein ganzes Herz" get any better? 13:53 Simply mesmerizing. Far better than all other renditions I have heard thus far. Bravissimo Rolando Villazón. He adds his natural wit and fun personality, delivering a powerful, yet charming rendition. Bravo!!

Yes, in his prime the most musical and promising tenor of his generation. Such a tragedy he did not learn from the stupidities
And mistakes of others before him. His decline came suddenly and irrevocably . Unforgivable really.
Many important critics and musicologists considered Fritz Wunderlich "The Perfect Tenor". He died tragically at 35 years old in a domestic accident but he left a very rich legacy of recordings for the enjoyment of future generations. Look him up, you wont regret it.
