Ford F150 Swallowed By Nevada Mud!

- We got a call for a Ford F-150 stuck in the mud in the middle of nowhere Nevada. The road was good both directions except for that one spot! It was 2wd, and they ruined the tire trying to get unstuck. We took blue steel towing the banana, not knowing what the road conditions were. We stopped to get the keys, and somehow forgot that minor detail...
We called John and told him to send his fastest pony to bring us the keys, he hopped in his miata and made record time, while we changed the brakes on the Jeep.
We finally arrived to find the Ford stuck with a flat, and after finding suitable hook points were able to tow it out rather easily. Eric got the tire changed and drove it to the car wash to clean it up.
It was a long day, but was a lot of fun, in some beautiful countryside. We hope you enjoy.

I'm still laughing at "inspect the rotor but not too closely"
Yeah, I got a good laugh out of that.
12:40 😁 ..anyone under the impression ...! 😉
"yep. that's a rotor"
Yessir don't be looking too hard cuz you'll be disappointed just put the rotor back on and act like it's perfectly fine
I love that you take the blame as a team. Most of us have all had the kind of boss that would be blaming errybody and throwing a fit. Its really great to see the whole crew facepalm together like u are some sort of team! Friggin Awesome!!
That says it all.
I was the first one my bosses threw out because this current corona situation. Yay, no more bullying boss, constantly broken truck and taking the blame for their mistakes. Time to fix my bicycle and get fit again!
That is what kept me watching the video because it is so uncommon nowadays.
Team fail for sure, but the buck stops at Matt. :)
Came for a recovery, instead, stayed for one of the most entertaining break jobs of all time
Spelling please.... you can break a screwdriver while doing a brake job.
break or brake?
@@peejay6855 oh no!, CZcams spelling police has arrived!
It sure seems like Matt does all the work, Eric in my opinion is basically lazy and doesn't seem to want to help . I think it was him that didn't get the keys.
These guys are life goals when it comes to being respectful, having patience and acting like adults. Are they even capable of frustration? I guess that's why they make such a good recovery team! I'm going to strive to be more like these guys.
Absolutely! Matt seems like the coolest guy ever under pressure. Of course, he may be editing some of the less calm parts out. LOL! But he seems like the type that understands that anger and frustration don't do any good.
Yeah they're wholesome and also bad asses. Inspirational group of guys
They Are respectful. The keys issue is not a trouble they earn more money, it was not his fault. Win - win
I was just saying the same thing. Very patient my goodness. Everyone in my life would blow up. Love these guys.
Wow you really swing for the fences.
My father always told me that the mark of a master craftsman is the ability to make it right despite everything going wrong. I think its really cool you are willing to demonstrate that for us.

A few universal rules: If you don't look at it then its okay. Every thing is a tool, every tool is a hammer. When in doubt, set it on fire and walk away. If you close your eyes hard enough it all goes away.
Matt, chances are you'll never read this but, I was a heavy hiway truck mechanic for 20+ years.. I will give all the credit in the world for knowing how to improvise... That kind of knowledge has gotten me thru many many situations, more than I can count... Well Done Matt...

see, this is what I love about everyone's attitude on this channel. even when a dumb mistake costs a bunch of time they don't just go around pointing fingers trying to shift blame. they quickly admit and accept "we all dropped the ball", and just as quick find a way to make the most of the situation.
Somehow I think you're talking about Trump indirectly.
@@electric8668 take it as you please, but that wasn't my intention.
I was thinking back to toxic jobs I've had where more energy was spent arguing about who's fault it is than it would have taken to just fix the problem.

My thoughts exactly. Me, I'd watch more youtube.
My father, shade tree mechanic extraordinaire and user of baling wire, always said, "If at first you don't succeed, use a bigger hammer."
I love watching your videos. They remind me of long ago when my dad was alive and men like him worked on their cars.
Brave sole laying under jeep supported by hydraulic jack, if the virus doesn't get me the jack will.
True, wouldn't do that with a car or a vehicle with not enough ground clearance in a pinch situation. This Jeep has tons of lift and tire he could put it down and play dodgeball underneath it. It'd scare the shit out of him I bet but this particular case it wouldn't kill him unless he stupid put his head under the rotor.
It won't stop people from getting underneath a car with 3" of ground clearance and an old shitty jack.
It was scissors jack. Very strong.chsin down for stability. Classic
@@muddjim55 I've seen three scissor jacks fail in my life. Two were caused by the stamped metal being too weak and the adjustment bolt had nothing to bite. The other had the pivot rivet fail and the car hit the ground.
They could at least have put the wheel underneath as a makeshift safety measure. I missed the 'inspect the rotor' comment because I was fast forwarding past where Erik was under the Jeep because I couldn't bare to watch it.
@@TA_Plus_Hemi How many bottle jacks have you seen fail?
Matt’s how-to: how to do everything with a lot less tools than anybody else. Need an Offroad wrecker? Nope, got a little Jeep. Need a winch, hi lift, or any other recovery gear? Nope, got a rope. If those don’t work, we just get more little jeeps with more ropes.
Need wrenches to change those brakes, or gloves, or anything? Nope, got this busted screw driver and a chunk of old barbed wire.
Don’t tell me that’s not a how-to. Please keep it up, I’m stuck in a walker and need to see somebody using their man card.
little jeeps. :)

3 whole minutes at the end of just watching the yellow Jeep towed on a trailer and I can’t stop watching. What’s wrong with me? Love the channel!
Have to add my bit about crawling under the Jeep. I couldn't talk my buddy into using jack stands. Can't talk to him at all anymore.

Matt- "Hold my beer!"
True & we drink the same brand....Mug.... Hahaha
LOLOLOL😂 Matt, that is the best thing I’ve heard in awhile. “Inspect the rotor, but not too closely”
Awesome video guys. Keep them coming 🤙
yeah he looked at it for like 1 second and tossed it down...haha that was great
I think "inspecting" it was just pro forma anyway, as I don't think they had new rotors and they damn sure didn't have any way to turn them.
Grooves make them stop better anyway it’s more surface area for the pad to grab (if actually does lol)
Pure entertainment here! I'm not even ½ through the video and simply relishing in the expert break job and skilled demonstration of use of the 'whack it with the tap-it-go-lucky stick'! Absolute perfection! Matt and the entire crew are truly delightful to watch as you all work together so well and allow a viewer like me to forget about my own troubles- even if just for a little while! Be safe in all your endeavors! 🤗🤗
That brake pad change was amazing; way to be flexible and and tenacious. (I'm in awe) Beautiful country around this recovery.
I love Matt’s dry humor. This has to be my favorite video so far!
By the water, in nature - would be a beautiful spot to sit and meditate. I enjoy the mud slinging & all I learn from watching your videos. Also, seeing how much fun, joy & happiness, your puppies have on a call, with you. They seem to beam bright with big smiles!! Perhaps, it's the scenery that attracts me. It's a pleasure to meditate in nature - or anywhere, really. My point is... It's not one or two things that draw me in to view your videos. It's ALL of it - as a "whole". I start smiling big at the beginning & throughout the entire video. But at the end, I'm left feeling an amazing uplifting positive energy that just feels so good. I believe you ALL know your blessed & very grateful for the abundance. I'm grateful for being able to express how I feel, to you all - you're a wonderful family, company, and so much more. In closing... Thank you so much for sharing!! (I had much to say... 😄).
I watched this a year ago when it first came out. I'd forgotten how much like a "comedy sketch" this was with the hilarious man banter. It's very entertaining. Matt's knowledge of cars and
engineering is quite dazzling. I think he should be teaching (maybe the Art of Improvising) at the University of Utah. Eric's smile is dazzling too, which may be why the lady forgot to give
him the keys. And, Randy's laugh is always a good addition.
Makes me nervous watching up under that Jeep with just that jack.
I would be slightly better with it if it was a very small contact point
Makes me pucker up a little bit
Steve Ddad the stuff they do is mild compared stuff I’ve seen in the past in person
I’m sure their underwriter doesn’t watch. Lol and yea I’ve seen some sketchy stuff in my past but I never publicized it on video! Normally it’s like, here hold my beer, and don’t ever do or tell anyone about this. 😂
Yeah there's a difference in what you have to do to get home and just want to do to save time. Brake pads are an easy job in the garage so why make it tougher by doing in on a trailer, on a small jack, without the right tools?
LOL "It's not the Destination, but the adventure along the way" Thanks for keeping these coming Matt and team. The scenery is a bonus.
Good thing you didn’t do the brake job in the last video when you noticed they were bad when it was on the lift, and had a shop full of tools.
Right, why do it the safe way with proper tools when you can just risk buddy's life laying under an unsupported vehicle in the middle of the fucking desert.
@@TheBCSledder LOL everyone who watched this thought the same thing. Hope BUDDY learned not to do that agian.

Matt is always in a good mood. Today, at least in the beginning, he seemed just a bit irked that they forgot to get the guys

Everyone that has ever worked on Ford has said those famous words " thank you Ford for making it different every single year and sometimes in the middle of the year" love my Fords but hate Ford for that
This episode was gold! Still dying over the brake pad job 😂😂 priceless. This is why I love this channel.
Without doubt the most professional recovery/roadside service crew I have ever seen.
When you take a break, you really take a "brake". Afterall, patience is key to getting the keys.
"Randy does not work for Winder towing" that should help him out with the key blame situation!! Great job guys!
This is probably in the top 5 of my favorite recovery videos so far. Only Ed’s reaction and comments would have made this any better.
My cousin lost his dad when he didn't use jack stands on his bronco and crawled under it. It's all fun a games until you get crushed to death.
Was thinking of exactly the same!!
thats insan, my neighbor and good friend lost his dad the same way, only it was a bronco 2 n he was workin on the driveshaft. didnt use jackstands n the jack gave out. horrible way to go
Wouldn't your cousins dad make him your Uncle?
I almost lost a leg while taking a caliper off a subaru using only a scisor jack, now I have a jack and two jack stands squeazed into the trunk of my miata at all times
Very un-professional, going under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Couldn't the brake pads wait until back where proper tools & equipment available?
"I'm not going to unload the jeep for this one." Less tha a minute later the jeeps coming off the trailer! Lol.
“Thanks Ford for making these different every year, and sometimes in the middle of a year!”
mike sine ford is crazy with parts.
I'm going to read my ford owner manual now!
Lol i have a 95 chevy 1500 96 gmc 1500 and 2000 chevy astro all have same jacks and spare holder and tools
Idk how ford makes money when they needlessly change parts every 2 years. Or make the same part in 2 different factories, but they actually aren't the same and dont interchange. Or stupid stuff like having 4 different brake pads or headlight assemblies based on trim level. Drives me crazy.

Excellent work on the brakes Matt. These are the types of skills one needs especially when SHTF and you are out in the middle of nowhere. We can always grab the torque wrench and apply non-squeal lube when we get back to shop. Love the channel!
This is what I love about this channel. Reminds me so much of my buddies and I going offroading/camping, someone is always forgetting something and doing random maintenance while were there. Thanks for the awesome content
A generation apart yet we do so many things the same way. I spent a lifetime fixing things with the tools I had and making things work in ways other than those for which they were designed. Well done. I disagree about it being a "How to Channel". You are teaching the lost art of improvisation, a gift that has served me, and I suspect you as well, for many years.
I have had to do some “on the rod repairs” and the only thing I hade to save my butt was my issued Gerber multi tool I got in the Military. Even got stuck once and had to remove a tree limb no axe or shovel. Couldn’t break it cause it was up against the truck, was able to get half way through the limb and put some weight into it and broke it free.
Never underestimate the power of ingenuity and determination to get something accomplished.
Every time I’m impressed how easy the pull takes the vehicle out of being stuck!
“Whilst we’re waiting we just thought we’d be productive and switch the brake pads” amazing 🥰
