      exactly, while others try win the lumens race, olight actually does a high lumens and yet safe light to use.. i mean imalent nor acebeam haves proximity sensors on thier lights.. and the fact that x9 memorizes turbo mode is insane. To me olight was the brand that got me into flashlights, the s1 baton copper to be exact and they have never dissapointed me.

    Took so long to finally release it I thought it was going to be at least 35k lumens. Looks beautiful and of excellent quality but frankly i'm a little disappointed.

    • @olightworld
      @olightworld  Před 6 lety +8

      We didn't want to win the lumen race and burn peoples hands. We could have thrown extra LED in but we created a flashlight that actually have a sustainable 25k lumens that barely gets warm to the touch.

    • @emmanuelmata
      @emmanuelmata Před 6 lety

      If it barely gets warm to the touch i'm sure you could've added one more LED and it would've been fine. Don't get me wrong i'm a Huge OLIGHT fanboy, been with you guys since the original s1 came out and I absolutely love your lights, wouldn't carry anything else. just saying, We all love those lumens and thats usually what makes me excited when it comes to lights like these

    • @olightworld
      @olightworld  Před 6 lety +2

      I hear ya. We are also very conscious of run times. There is always a give and take with adding things to lights. This is our happy medium. We hope our fans like it.

    • @mortuus4601
      @mortuus4601 Před 6 lety +1

      you did the right thing, safety in a flashlight of this size should be nr1 most important thing, and it still has tons of lumens u guys are amazing!

    Camera work a bit shaky but love the quality of your assembly.
    Can I challenge you guys?
    I remember there was talks about some kind of active cooling like fans for this light originally. Every brand made super high lumen lights.
    The obstacle I would like manufacturers to tackle is one of heat management. I don’t want a light that runs on the highest for a few min and kicks down to 3000 lumens for example.
    I would like the engineers to think of ways they can actively cool a light in not ideal situations. In tropical climate it is not unusual to experience 90F and 80 humidity. This essentially means that running a light for 15 min for 2000 lumens is not possible.
    Experiment with air cooling , liquid cooling. Can you refine the fins to be thinner to have more surface area exposed. Study the PC cooling technology and see which can translate over to flashlights.
    Honestly I think that heat management has been ignored by all. It’s easy to make high lumens and to market that. This is the real challenge.

    great flashlights. I own many of them. However there is a huge fly in the ointment. I realized that I had bought over $500. and never received any points. So I will not be buying any more. The ones I have will have to do. After talking to Doris in the chat room during sale, they offered NO help. SHAME ON YOU OLIGHT!
