I think he bought the second place (the white one) in 1988. I like your work, it's really great. It will help me when I find a nice piece of land and get my Garden Lodge replica built one day. Hopefully :D
When Mary first found out that she will inherit Garden Lodge, she was scared and suggested to put the house on trust and be a museum but Freddie didn't want that. He want the house to be alive and he wants Mary to live there. He said "If things were different, you would have been my wife and this would have been yours anyway." So yeah he probably didn't want it to be a world heritage site or what.
@Adrianats It was detective-work for me, but I enjoyed it: the internet gave me all the information for the general structure of the house, Google Earth in particular but also some videos on You Tube. Then there was Peter Freestone's book.

Che casa enorme !! L'alto muro di cinta ne impedisce la visione completa della magione. Adesso all'interno ci vive Mary con i suoi 2 figli che tra l'altro ha piazzato pure delle telecamere sopra alla famosa porta verde a cui è stato aggiunto pure un vetro protettivo
Appena arrivato a Londra abitava con la famiglia a Feltham, vicino all'aeroporto di Heathrow, poi ha sempre vissuto in quartiere Kensington, cambiando diverse case. La prima che comprò fu a Stafford Terrace.
