- Caffeine levels in some energy drinks can be very high. Often combined with large amounts of sugar, these energy drinks may pose a health risk. Research continues to show an increasing amount of negative impacts from large doses of caffeine and sugar.
Recommendations for caffeine intake are up to 400mg a day and no more than 200mg in a single dose.
With that out of the way, let’s take a look at the energy drinks with the highest caffeine. You can convert the unit from mg/liter to mg/fl oz by multiplying the value by 0.0295735.

@@sylamy7457 I wasn't comparing to other drugs, and yes, addiction of other drugs is way worse than caffeine, but honestly the amount of times ive gone into caffeine withdrawal because im just too lazy to keep a regular caffeine intake schedule is too damn high and my headaches and tiredness were just too much. So i stopped it. It was annoying as all hell.

i tried dyna pep once, the sheer amount of energy i felt was making me feel like i should throw a mid sized sedan across a walmart parking lot. after the few hours of energy the "crash" was so intense
Bacchus is still a medicine in Korea, so there are strong restrictions on caffeine content. The limit is 30mg. It has been sold since the 1960s, and there was no category of energy drinks at that time. I also drink it conventionally, but the effect is weaker than a cup of coffee. I want to get the export version.

That much caffeine can potentially result in cardiac arrest. I’m not your mother or doctor and you probably had your reasons. Be careful though dude. It’s possible to even overdose on water. Yes, water intoxication is a thing.
Drink less caffeine. Seriously. Your tolerance is so high that it doesn't work nearly as well. When I was 18-19, I drank about eight shots of espresso a day, all the way up until I got home from work. After doing that for a while, I switched to two caffeine pills a day, 400mg of caffeine. Eventually that wasn't enough so it was two caffeine pills and then espresso, up to two pills and eight shots of espresso a day. What actually ended up giving me the most energy was quitting cold turkey for a few weeks and then going down to 1-2 cups a day.

I overdosed on caffeine a bunch of times when I was younger, usually before a workout, usually the only adverse effect was nausea and just not feeling good, but one time when I was in college I went to the Smoothie King on campus and got an extra large smoothies, there were a bunch of things you could get added to it, each item was in a small container with a scoop in it, most of the scoops were the same size except for the supplement ones, one of the add-ins was powdered caffeine, this dumb girl was making my smoothie and there was no scoop for the caffeine so she just grabbed the first scoop she saw and it turned out that the caffeine was supposed to have a very small scoop and the one she used was a big one like they used for granola or M&Ms, I left and drank the smoothie pretty fast as it was an awesome Pina Colada one, before I got to my next class my heart started racing and not the usual tachycardia you get from an energy drink(I'm an RN now), it got REALLY bad, I sat down on a bench and was on the verge of shouting for help as I thought I needed to get to the ER before I drop dead right there, I very stupidly was too embarrassed and prideful to do it, so I just sat there until I felt better, which took about 45 minutes.
But one time a couple of years before that I was a fitness fanatic and trying to get my body fat down to 4% so I was doing the ACE fat burning stack, aspirin, caffeine and ephedrine, when you take them together they are like the magic fat burning pill, you are supposed to take just one of each but I was taking 2 of each and getting good results, not just in losing fat but getting crazy energy at the gym. Then one day I tried 3 of each and it was like I was an elite Olympic athlete. Then a few days later I VERY stupidly took 5 of each and headed to the gym. I wasn't an elite Olympic athlete that day, that day I was superhuman, I got on the Stair Master and set it at level 12 and I did it non-stop FOR TWO HOURS. People in the gym were staring at me and talking about me, pretty girls were constantly walking by smiling at me and trying to get my attention. Now I'm a decent looking guy but that day it was like I was Brad Pitt. I could have kept on going after 2 hours but I was starting to get concerned because I recognized how extremely unusual all of this was, but I felt fine, good even. I drove home and right when I walked in the door my energy level started to decrease. I still felt ok but I sat down anyways, good thing too because one minute later it hit me. I could LITERALLY feel my heart struggling with each beat, like when you have been working out a long time and your muscle is struggling to keep repeating the exercise that your doing at that moment. I definitely should have called 911 but I wasn't thinking clearly. I sat there like that for about 15 minutes before my heart recovered. Needless to say it was a long time before I used stimulants for my workout again and then it was a moderate dose. I never pushed it like that again but I definitely wanted to because once you know what it feels like to be superhuman it's hard to go back to being just a regular person no matter how fit you are. The Stair Master on level 12 is almost like running a 4 minute mile pace and I did it for 2 hours and could have kept on going. That's like running a marathon 15 minutes faster than the world record. I still remember what that felt like and it is VERY enticing and addictive. I wonder how many guys did something like that and DIDN'T survive. Imagine doing that and adding a shot of adrenaline to the mix. You would be Superman right up until the moment that your heart failed. Totally awesome to be sure but totally NOT worth the risk. Young guys, learn from my near death experience, be smarter than I was, don't break your mom's heart.

@@sipapi1131 Well I didn't write it for you C-Poppy. I wrote it to hopefully stop a young person from making the same mistake. I almost died and a lot of other guys did die from too many energy drinks and high doses of stimulants. A couple of years ago a guy in college was at a party and drank 17 Red Bulls in too short of a time and he dropped dead from heart failure. His mother now campaigns full-time to warn people so that no other mother loses her son the same way. He wasn't the first nor the last, and it's been happening for over 20 years. When people first started using ephedrine as a stimulant there were guys dropping dead then too. When they came out with Herbal Ecstasy in the 90's it was the Chinese herb Ma Huang, which is just like ephedrine, guys were dropping dead then too. That's why I wrote a whole essay.
Not allot of days ago i was going to my grandma but before i left i had consumed 5 big cups of so strong coffee that it was hard to drink. while i was in the car got very nauseous and when i got to my grandma i went in and got a glass of water and about 2 minutes later i vomited. that was probably one of the worst caffiene experiences i have ever had.
@@Forbiiden yeah, caffeine does stuff like that. i don't usually go down the route of having it a ton, but i do like sodas with low amounts of caffeine every once in a while. my parents worked with someone whos friend's kid overdosed on caffeine from monsters and redbulls. it's a terrible thing.

People are looking too much at the cafiene per liter, look at the cafiene per serving and it doesn't go over 300mg. I take pre-workout that has 400mg caffeine per serving and all it does is give me a bit more energy in the gym
Yes and no, while the amount per serving is important so its amount per liter. You could not down a gallon of energy drink to get X caffeine but you could take 3 of those high density shots to get to the same amount.

"ALRI Hypershot" has 500mg per serving (60mL) and "King Legend" has 800mg per serving (1L).
I took about 1000-1200mg of caffeine once in college and had an adverse reaction. Some of these seem unsafe.
