- Sylvester Stallone says he didn't do "Creed 3" after frustration with the direction of the "Rocky" spinoff franchise. But, he would be open to participating if there is a 4th film. #shorts #creed #creed3
Regardless, Sly is always honest and upfront, but yet a class act.
And yet this comment reads as if class acts aren’t usually honest and upfront
Didn't he used to steal scripts from younger people back in the day?
@@bry8636 I just love internet scholars. Maybe you can utilize that impressive IQ of yours and learn the definition of a “class act” and its many applications in the english language. In addition, you used “And yet” incorrectly. However, I’m certain you knew this already. 👍
@@BROOKLYNPOETZ you really wanted to shoehorn ‘internet scholars’ in didn’t you?
Because it doesn’t take a scholar to use ‘yet’ as a conjunction.
Just a basic grasp of English.
There is no definition of ‘class act’ that excludes honest and upfront.
Your use of yet presumes that it is unusual or even contradictory for a class act to be upfront and honest.
Try this,
‘Sly is always honest and upfront, nevertheless a class act.’
Follow? Your statement reads as if it’s unusual for a class act to be honest and upfront.
When those are often synonymous with a class act.
Follow?
And in the manner in which you’re using yet, as a conjunction, ‘but yet’ is redundant.
Yet means ‘but’ or ‘nevertheless’ in the manner you used it. That is you just said ‘but but’.
You can read my original comment as…
‘But this comment reads as if class acts aren’t usually honest and upfront’
‘Yet’ has multiple meanings, and you haven’t grasped a single one.
The irony of accusing me of using the word incorrectly is palpable given your butchery of it.
lol
He's basically saying it just didn't make sense for Rocky to be in the movie and he's right. He would have been a background character. What's the point of that?
He was also working on Tulsa King as the lead actor/executive producer.
Pretty sure Sly will always find something to do that is interesting & revenue generating.
@@muaddib989 definitely interesting seeing a 76 yr old sly beat down a biker gang by himself
It also wouldn't have made too much sense since the second Creed movie ended with Rocky passing on the torch and fading into the background.
Thanks to rocky we get a great movies 🍿 you made this come to life thank you love ❤️ your movies “Rocky the Goat”
It still would’ve been cool to see him in the crowd for the final fight in support of Donni but either way it was a great stand alone movie. Rocky’s message was still in the movie through n through and I liked how they mentioned him in certain scenes as if it was modern day. N loved the LA culture in the movie as well. It was definitely different than any rocky/creed movie we ever seen but different in a great way
Honestly, the ending of Creed 2 where he returns to his son is literally the best ending for that character so as much as I love sly I'm not going to be upset that he is not in Creed 3
I honestly didn’t appreciate how they went backwards with that drama he had with his son, they fixed that issue in rocky 6. It just felt recycled in creed 2 tbh.
@Nikketmzee Don't felt it was recycled. Probably Rocky Junior did not really reconcile or probably the issue resurfaced again between Rocky 6 and Creed 2 as Rocky Junior start to establish his own family. Rocky Junior would wanna his offsprings to live in a place without the legacy his father left behind in Philli.
Stallone knows the character best, he made the right call
He wrote it
Pretty sure the movie‘s called Creed. Not sure in the 3rd there needs to be such a big emphasis on Rocky. The direction they chose worked pretty well I think. Having spin-offs be soo close to the original is what happened to Star Wars. Let it have the chance to be it’s own thing or keep it as the original
Well, he invented it
@@platogenova9573
He doesn’t own the rights, he didn’t write the script, and it’s called Creed.
@@jonharrison9222yet all of that was done out of *his* creations, without Sly there wouldn't be Adonis, and so no Creed
after seeing the movie i definitely understand. the movie is more based around Adonis background and life rather than about rocky training him.
Edit: Didn’t know this would get tons of likes. Remember to love one another no matter what background😄
Yea I get it i feel like should've been saved for the 4th film And rock could've been in the 3rd I didn't see it though so Idk
In Rocky iv it was about Rocky not Rocky and Mickey
Which is fine. Right? Stallone said he was done after Creed 2, so why the gripe about the directing of Creed 3?
@@kendrickgreen1331...he is hating in the background 💯
But we have seen a lot of this narrative, this new one is a. Great movie. Rocky doesn need to be the STAR of the movie every time once there's no mor fr him
He’s absolutely right. It would have been difficult to fit Rocky into Creed 3 without doing a disservice to his character. It was about Adonis’s past catching up to him and Rocky would have been just a background character in that story. Rocky should always be something more than that. If they do a Creed IV, hopefully Rocky can return and have a prominent role.
you can say creed 4 mate your not that clever
@@ot.productions7835 thanks for the tip
@@ot.productions7835 You're*
Seems like you aren't clever either.
@@OscarHernandez18600lol funny, but it is a common mistake, still funny.😂
Rocky should be content the role he created and how creed 2 sent him off. Let Andonis take the helm of the franchise Sly sold honest my opinion he never shouldn't sold the rights
Like how he's straight forward but respectful and still willing to be included in future films
Yeah that's what it is @jacksonacrcher5881
Creed 3 was great. I love rocky but he didn’t need to be in this one. This movie was for creed to shine without rocky. But creed 4, rocky better be in it lol.
Agreed!!!

It was ok
@@Ilias24. What didn't you like about it? I thought it was great
@@DemonFist94 im my opinion it was great but not as much as the 2 first, i didnt felt the same thing watching the 3 as the other’s.Hope they bring back the vibe and rocky in the 4
And it’s speaks volume that instead of going for the bag and just getting a movie done-he actually cares about his character and the franchise enough to recognize when he isn’t needed.
After watching I agree that him not being there wasn’t a bad idea, but a mention of why he’s not wouldn’t have hurt
Yes❤
I don't think they need to mention him for the same reason. It will not add to the story in the movie. That's a weird cinematic universe thing people want but it adds clutter. He simply was not here during this part of Creed's life. He wasn't before much either so it feels natural for them to not talk for a while. Rocky appeared during very pivotal moments of his life and then he just does his own thing otherwise.
Respect to him. He didn't want to distract from the main theme of the film. It didn't need him. It's my personal favorite "Rocky" film BY FAR
Same here. Adonis had way too much to deal with in a short amount of time for them to find an excuse for Rocky to be there. Especially considering the movie took place in LA anyway.
It's tied with Rocky 3 for my favourite though. People try to pretend they hate the movie just because Rocky wasn't in it. But the movie itself was great
Let me guess....your a black dude lol
Class act... no complaints, tell his side without burning everything to the ground. Very impressed with Mr Stallone.
Yeah! I agree keep Rocky, Rocky! Don't sell out and stick to your guns Sly! You are what made this movie. Love you!
Facts! I don't know why people try to go into other directions
Class act indeed.
To be fair he did say Creed 2 was his last, but he has mentioned that he is working on another Rocky film. So who knows when he'll pop up, like Sylvester said Rocky needs to be one on one with Creed, its understandable .
Sly still a producer of the movie so the love and support was still there. Hope I’d there is a IIII we get to see Rocky in the movie, I love those two working together.
Does feel like movie magic.
Links me to my childhood but brings me up to date. Love it.

Because it is not a Rocky movie, it is a "spin-off". It is a movie that is about the creed family not creed's relationship with Rocky.
Understood, but at the same time the movie ain't the movie without Rocky 🤷🏾♀️ ijs
I totally agree with you
@@23jennyjb The movie has already broke box office records. Clear evidence that the movie stands on its own without "Rocky". And I am a huge Rocky fan, but take the emotion out of it, and it is objectively clear that the movie stands on its own. This is not a bad thing or slight against Rocky.
Thank you this needs to be understood
Agreed but the first movie is built around they’re relationship it’s like rocky said, he’s supposed to be like Mickey in these creed movies he better be in the next one it makes these movies that much better with him in it as well. Adds much more emotional stake.
I’m a HUGE Rocky fan, but he didn’t need to be in this one. This was a pure Creed movie and it was awesome!!!
I need to go see it
Actually, I agree. It was about Adonis' past catching up to him. Rocky wasn't necessary in this one. Besides the ending credits says he produced it at least.
Awesome? What movie u watch ??

You toxic fans made it seem like he had beef? When reality they wanted to go deeper with Adonis story. They couldn’t do that with rocky over shadowing the story
He does have beef with the people that own the rights to Rocky. They cut Sylvester entirely out of owning his own creation.
Even if there was no beef (which there is, like this👆🏻guy said) how TF would that make people "toxic"
@@317hyw He sold it to them they didn't cut him out
The way they ended Creed 2, there was no need for him to be in 3. Plus his last words to Adonis was” it’s your time, kid”. So he planted that seed.
Stallone is a genius.
They made the right call with creed 3 but there's room for sly to come back . Maybe adonis can train rocky in another rocky movie
Regardless of Sly not being in it, it was a great movie.
Love that he said if there’s 4th I’m there but i definitely agree Creed 3 was Adonis's background story it really didn’t have to do anything with Rocky I love Rocky and I want him in this series but only if it makes sense like he said the 1 on 1 with those to guys that’s always a heart warming sight!
Did he just sell next movie to us??????
Right! LETS bring back Clubber Lang!
It’s up in the air
Should’ve had a subtle cameo at the Mama Creeds funeral at least..
Yea that would’ve made sense
I agree. Show up to the funeral to pay his respects at least.
Creed 2 was the perfect send-off for Rocky. I really felt his story could be concluded now. That last part of meeting his grandson who looked like Adrian was poetically perfect. He doesnt need to come back.
Creed 3 felt like just another boxing film without Rocky.
Sly was just being kind here in this interview! I've made separate comments on other articles here on CZcams which I won't try to repeat on this thread. But, I agree with Sly's reason for not doing Creed III, because in a way he was forced out by the direction the producer & MBJ wanted to take the story. To be short, Creed III doesn't match up with the 1st 2 Creed movies & shows that MBJ simply wanted to steal what was left for Sly in this franchise! I don't think they'll allow Sly back when it's clear they have no intention of allowing him any more creative input in future films.
Creed 3 definitely fits with the first two .
THIS MOVIE WAS AWESOME!! Michael B Jordon the cast was excellent it had everything in it. This movie was about his life his trauma.
I love Michael B.Jordan and respect his accomplishments. But,Sylvester Stallone is pure Magic, pure legend, pure GOLD,and always delivers=Tulsa King forever.
What does that have to do with the movie though? There was no room for Rocky in the movie
Spoken well. He knows what's what. True veteran of the industry.
Creed is Creed and Rocky is Rocky self explanatory! Different eras. We take nothing away from Sly.

I think creed 3 was a radical departure for rocky fans but probably also a fresh move for uniquely creed fans
I get it. what sickens me is the people coming out the wood worms bashing Stallone. Stallone is one of the biggest names out there. one of the biggest action heros. if the guy feels a way about a 40 year legacy and where he suddenly don't fit into the movie he was once the lead character to for 40 years let the man be I don't blame him. Most haven't lived close to that long thats almost half a life time really for some its more than half
I think he should have been in it. The whole movie felt like it was missing something. (Rocky).
Protect this man at all cost. Legendary
Unfortunately, they will look back and realized they dropped the ball with Apollo Creeds wife passing away and Rocky was not at the funeral. How would he magically re appear?...won't make sense.
Dude fought a super soldier and thinks that’s relatable , as a young black man who has lost people to the system for th to come back broken, creed 3 is the most relatable 💀☠️
Fr
I thought he meant it wasn’t generally relatable too, but I think he meant the story wasn’t something that he personally could relate to.
What are you talking about? Have you not seen Rocky 1,2,3?
Stallone nobody could have played out the Rocky story like you you'll always be champ ROCKY
He's right. There was a lot going on and he wouldn't have fit
I love this inspirational STRONG (NOT TOXIC) man. Wish we had thousands more like him. ❤
I thought that was the whole point. He was trained by so many people including Apollo. This shoukd be about him as his trainer and morale compass the way those other trainers were to him. If it went on long enough, Adonis would become the trainer
Sly, your instincts are always on point. ROCKY is number One. Forever♥️ 🇺🇸💪🏆🥊🏋🏼♀️🧗🏻♂️🎺🎵👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💋
this is a very honest take. there's a little ego there but at least he's honest. Rocky really didn't fit in this movie and that's the writer and directors fault.
He should have cameoed at the funeral and at the title fight.
Ok, I think the problem here is….not moving on and accepting your older and ego is getting in the way. Stallone should accept the roll in the new creed movie and be thankful for the pay cheque. We all get old, we should get old and grow humble.
Absolutely loved Creed 1 and 2. I cry multiple times everytime i watch those movies. I hated Creed 3. His problems with the directions were valid
He’s so gracious with how he expresses himself. About the topic. And I agree. This was movie was a side adventure.
Everything doesn’t have to keep revolving around rocky tho
I absolutely understand after seeing the movie. Rocky and Adonis in each film have a father-son style relationship. If he could not realistically give something of that nature to the film it would’ve been disrespectful to Rocky. And if Rocky had been there then realistically he would’ve seen Damien for what he was and very easily of helped Adonis get past the mental challenge he faced
I understand that the point that he didn’t really have a place in this one. Heavy disagree about it not being relatable. But honestly throughout the Creed series you would think Adonis would venture off without Rocky at some point.
And he’s absolutely spot on, I watched Creed III and the film seems very very rushed including the final fights blink and you’ll miss it, at times This film was crying out for Stallone but nothing
No it’s like Stallone said, Rocky was not needed in this story. Adding him would’ve been trying to fit in to much. They were already putting in a lot and it’s sad the cut studio decided to cut 30 minutes of the film, we all feel it was rushed towards the end and wanted more.
I disagree@ Adonis needed to evolve. The ending rush...no.. the cinematography of their friendship was brilliant 👏🏾
Totally agree, movie was too rushed and couldn't get into like the old Rocky movies..
Mate you Are 77 years Old . You should be around family as long as you can now
My opinion it should have been a short movie story about Apollo Creed how he became champion and his life story.. there is one Mickey Goldmeild.. Rocky manager
I honestly didn’t mind that rocky wasn’t in it. The whole point of these movies was for Adonis to grow and outlive his father and rocky and in this third movie we see exactly just that. When people hear the first two creed movies they think of Apollo creeds son but in the third film you think of Adonis creed himself, if you understand what I’m trying to say
He was an angry soul, but he found peace. He faced his fears in battle. And he made it. He made his father proud. The end. Not everything has to follow a pattern.
I can not see Sylvester Stallone as a background character.. he's a heavy weight actor.. it would've been a disservice to him, no way. He made the right call .
It was too black not washed enough I understand
Basically
He's 100% right, if he was in it and only had really small scenes it could come off as them trying to make rocky seem as tho he's not a staple character to the franchise that started it all so it's nice to just have him not in it so they can focus on Creed deeper and then back to having him in 4 would just be chefs kiss
Absolutely he's right. Donnie was no longer a coachee, or being mentored. He was a retired veteran of the sport. Self sufficient. Even becoming a mentor figure himself for Dame to begin with. It was his own demons as the protagonist of the story to face. It wouldn't suit to have Rocky in the movie as such an insignificant character.
Self reflection! Stallone knows WHO he is and Stallone know what works and willing to let it happen.. THANK YOU Mr. STALLONE for letting this movie go forward..WE NEEDED THIS STORY!! 👏 👏 👏 👏
I really missed you in that movie Rocky🥺
Here he’s saying he gracefully bowed out of the film but in other interviews he’s saying they left him out I’m confused.
At some point Creed has to find his own way as a boxer. Rocky can guide him along, but essentially Creed is about Apollo's son and how he fights his way to the top, in his own way. Creed and Rocky aren't the same characters as boxers, but they can guide and learn from each other along the way.
I like the direction Creed 3 went; it was very relatable for me, having come up in the hood. There’s some people and things one has to get away from if they want to grow and move forward in life. Some times that person or thing is you, your past, your greatest opponent.
He keeps changing his answer every interview.
Better movie by far would have been Mr. T.s son fighting Creed.
Creed 3 was a great movie, Im a life long rocky fan and I really liked creed 3

Stallone knows what Rocky would have became in this movie. I mean the man created the character with a specific vision in mind. Throughout the Rocky/Creed franchise, he’s lived up to that. After Rocky reconnecting with his son, that’s the best send off for Rocky
Rocky films are the one who open Crees Michel b Jordan it’s a great sequence but duke can’t never replace Rocky on that corner Rocky made Creed live again after Rocky lll he should be in including in every movie and producing movies especially at the end that song it’s not creed that song it’s balboa….. Rocky one again bring Crees alive repeat that many times as you need!!!
He is correct 100%
I am a Rocky fan tho.. Rocky couldve made a phone call, facetime or something in the movie.. lol.. i did stay long enough to see Slys name in the credits tho. I love Creed too now! ❤
Always felt like Rocky and now Creed has a magic formula for a movie, love, action, drama, emotiosn and life lesson wrapped up in 2 hrs. ❤️
Yes, bring Stallone back because I know what Creed could really be with Stallone being apart of it. The third one felt rushed and I wasn’t able to connect with it as much as the Rocky movies.
A direction different than Rocky...end of that era 😭 but😊... glad the film was a success 🥰
I'm really glad to hear this, in the past I just heard that didn't want anything to do with the movie or anyone involved. But knowing that he's willing to do a fourth and especially with MBJ it brings me relief. And that's not to say I disagreed with his reasons
Makes sense. I loved the movie, but if Rocky was in it, he would be basically an extra.
I will say I was never really a strong viewer of Sly films. I didnt see rambo or the original rocky films I was more a fan of MBJ. Different generations I guess but I thought SLY his presence in Creed and Creed 2 was so incredible. I thought his dialogue was amazing and the way he delivered it.. he for me, stole the scenes. I was blown away he had me crying so hard. I think Creed 3 will be a very different film without him. I am bummed he wont be in it.Respect to the man.
I really missed Rocky in creed 3
I really liked Creed. I loved Creed 2. I hated Creed 3. It felt like it was written by a teenager in a screenplay writing course and had an entire act missing in the middle. Damian gets out of prison after being incarcerated for years and years and is the world heavyweight champion 10 minutes later (literally). I despised the metaphoric imagery in the final fight as well as the stylised combat throughout. Michael B. Jordan incorporating his love of anime and such and whilst I respect a director putting their own mark on a film these are meant to be gritty and inspiring sports dramas, not Dragonball Z. The subplot between Adonis and Bianca was weak and underdeveloped and the “make up” conversation between Adonis and Damien at the end was at best bad writing and at worst “total cringe”. I was really disappointed in this film after going to see Creed 2 twice at the cinema I enjoyed it so much.
100% agree
Basically, the rocky films were about human relationships/struggles of people who just so happened to box. Creed III doesn’t deliver on any of the promises it seems to make thru the first ~50 minutes regarding guilt, forgiveness, etc
I think he may be holding on to the Creed/Rocky thing a bit too much. Kind of like a parent who won’t let their kid do things on their own. Sometimes you just gotta let ‘em fly, realize their own visions.
I agree with Sylvester Stallone 💯 Rocky needs to be in the movie without Rocky creed wouldn’t exist. Simple as that.
Seems you didn’t listen too him….
He literally didn’t say that. He said he wasn’t in it because he would have had nothing to do in the story
Perfect choice on his end. Much respect 2 all of them. And Hopefully 4 will be due for some Rocky Balboa as a OG, gracefully bowing out.
I agree with ol’ Rocky on this one
The only thing I take umbridge with is rocky not being at the funeral in the film. His character would've been there for that. I think Creed 3 did have a relatable premise for any person who feels they may have let someone down but it is true Rocky isn't a person that would necessarily know what to do in that situation
And everyone is stopping me of getting a lawyer but everyone else can but me
I can see where he is coming from, but i hope he is in Creed 4. I love the relationship between Rocky and Adonis. I like that he found solace and a sort of second chance in training the son of Apollo, some way to make up for his mistake to his old friend. I love that they have a strong bond that makes you forget racial differences, that Adonis calls him Unc and looks to him as a mentor. A beautiful relationship I missed in the third installment, even though I really liked it. Creed 2 is one of my all-time favorite movies.
The moment he told Adonis "it's your time", we all knew his part in this franchise had gone full circle
Creed III had no place for Rocky in its storyline. Stallone respected that, and opted out. Much love to him ❤
i understand, but so nice of him to be willing to comeback for a 4. he too cool
Slyvester summed up what was wrong with Creed 3…the film was not relatable at all. It didn’t have that Spark like before.
The story was connected to other Creed films. He came from a group home. So it was about his group home days. Oh well! Fingers crossed 🤞 for Creed 4!
I agree. Creed lll didn’t need Rocky, and he would’ve just been a background character, he wasn’t needed. The film was great, but he’ll be back, he clearly still enjoys this universe.
Let's give Sylvester his flowers as a Hollywood legend and a great and classy actor while he's still here. Creed 4; make it right Producers.
Ok bruh you gotta respect rocky and what he’s saying. He’s getting to that age where he’s probably more irritable & when it comes down to it. It’s a spin off of rocky.. and that’s cool you gotta respect the origin story tho. If you’re wondering who’s movies are better, go and critique them yourselves. The OG movies are were it’s at tbh tho. Mb Jordan creed 3 is DOPE tho. Hopefully he creates movies in future to keep the franchise going on
Creed 4 needs to happen NOW... Best movie trilogy of all time, have watched the 3 over and over for months and still never get bored.
