I just got mine at Sam's Club, $60. Comes with all you show plus the folding instant read thermometer and a nice case to keep it in. I will be using it for the first time Christmas day. Thank you for the great video on this product. You answered my question about using one of the probes for ambient temp. in the bbq. The weber kettle has on one the lid but I'm not sure how accurate it is. Again.. Thank You !!
Love my TP 25, I'm getting similar very good results as well. Careful when you wash/clean the probes: never ever submerge in water, or even let water close to the top of the probes!
Thanks Dave! I am using it now to smoke a turkey. Using ambient temp, breast temp and thigh temp probes. Glad to know its accurate. Love that I can see this from my iphone. Your review just clarified how this device works. I Agree with your review! Thanks
I have the same Louisiana Grill smoker as you and had unbalanced temperature issues too, so I opened on that slide grate on the left side of the drip plate half way, and it worked perfectly now. Side Note, I hang my TermoPro on the top edge of my pellet box and close the lid over it!
All pellet smokers will have this issue cuz of the way they are designed. With the fan on the left and the pellet box right in the middle. Just gotta compensate for it. So wouldn't worry about getting a different one unless your gonna spend alot of money on a competion yoder or something @davesohiobbq
Thanks for the review. I just got one for a late Xmas present from my brother. I'm looking forward to using it. I don't have temp lines on my oven knob so I'm going to use it to set temps in my oven too. Watching the graph makes me realize my gas oven fluctuates up and down by a good 30 to 50 degrees. Note: your custom label says 'chicken high' not 'chicken thigh'. When you showed the screen of your phone for the setup it would be nice if on the other side of the screen you showed iOS setup and if you went through every single step from scanning the QR code, downloading, affording permissions, etc. I appreciate your point about the colored numbers not lining up with the section of the screen. On that thread, I find it odd they selected blue and black. Those are hard to distinguish. Why not use red or something for one of those. Or whatever works for colorblind people. I liked the ice water and boiling tests. Thanks again.
Good video. Well done. I appreciate the review. Why I would NOT buy is 2 reasons. 1. Is the rechargeable battery. I like the ability to immediately replace the battery if it runs out of charge and keep going. I don't want to have to wait to recharge or worry about whether or not it will run out of charge and I don't have the ability to charge while cooking and really would rather not have to run a line out to the cooker. I know it's got a long life but you just never know what kind of battery you will get with your individual unit. 2. Bluetooth and not a wifi option. My house is brick and bluetooth will not operate at the one end of the house where I hang out while I'm cooking. If you don't mind those two issues this looks like a great option for the price. Keep it up Dave!
Thanks Mark. Those are both valid issues. My house is half brick and the Bluetooth seems to go through OK, but I also have a lot of large openings. But battery I could definitely see being an issue
From my experience, I did no have any problems with the battery: it has lots of juice, and re-charges quite fast. I actually do prefer it vs replaceable batteries. And no problems with blue tooth range, I leave in a brick house, usually monitor by smoker from basement (bricks & concrete)
The range has been upgraded to 650ft. However, if i get 30 ft away, it disconnects. Even standing right next to the unit, my app never shows full strength. I'm using it now, for the first time. We'll see how accurate the temperature is...
Mine used to "easily" connect, now it wont pair at all..tried all the help stuff, unistalling and re-installing....i gave up...batteries charged etc etc etc. Not really as advertised
I have an older model that I have used for many years, (TP20), and I love it. Am going to pick up a TP920. Great video. Thanks for sharing.

Really? Have you had bad luck with that happening?
@@daveshouseofbbq the manufacturer actually advises against submerging the probes in water. I found out they are wright...
Just got mine last week.Used one time and it worked great!

Really? Does that tend to make the food on the left side burn more? I’ll have to try that. Thanks for the tip.

thanks for explaining what those clips were for I almost threw them out
Great video and explanation! The line not lining up with the number would drive me nuts as well LOL
Long video but really really good, I watched 3 different about same thermometer and this one is the best. Thanks for the video

32 F or 0 C is the triple point of water it’s were water can be a solid, liquid, and gas at the same time

Excellent review. Thank you. Btw, you don’t need to clean that smoker that’s great seasoning. Looks like mine 😂 👍🏽
Thanks for the great review
Thanks for your help, just order one
I’m tempted to buy it just for the probe reels
I really do love them.
Great video ! Love how educated you are.
Thank you
Good reviews
enjoyed the unboxing...😊👍
To make ice you have to remove more latent heat to transform state from liquid to solid .

I’m have the same issue

Mine wont even turn on brand new. Im watching all these reviews just to see if i can figure out.
Kind of an obvious question, but you did charge it correct? Also, when you press the power button just press it quickly, don’t press and hold it.
So, is there any time frame that a probe can lay on the grill to monitor ambient temperature? Thanks.
Time frame? You can leave the probe in there for the whole cook.
@@daveshouseofbbq Ok. Thanks!!!
I like the price, I too.
Time is not accurate on the one I have
Can you operate it without using the app? What if your phone dies?
Yes. You can use it just like a regular old thermometer.
Is the cook time estimator accurate?
Sometimes
Have you had the unit in the rain yet?
Not yet.
Did you receive it for free?
Yes
So what happens if I’ve got to run to the store
It’s doesn’t tell you the temp. It only works while you’re on you home wifi network
Actually while you’re within Bluetooth range, they say about 500 ft
Dose it automatically reconnect when back in range?
You could attach one to your kid.
Out of here in 10 seconds with CZcams commercials. Enjoy my non-subscribing.
Life is short. Try to relax. Thanks for watching the first 9 seconds though. All the best, Dave
