If it wasn't for the forced death animation before becoming a seeker, something like Smant getting caught in the moat right next to other hiders would be kinda unfair in these matches. It's basically a useful grace period rule for other hiders and I'm glad it's implemented in the mod by default. :)
Tbf it would most likely just change the meta so that hiding next to others is a really bad idea
@@jojbenedoot7459 Fair, though they would likely have some sort of indication (either verbal ahead of time or visual or something) that the death animation grace period is on or off.
They also have to switch from hider mode to seeker mode manually so it takes a moment anyway
im excited to see the one from todays stream in a few months, “mario odyssey hide and seek just got flatter” or “mario odyssey multiplayer just lost a dimension”
Alternatively going to freeze tag would be pretty cool

It would be awesome if different people had different effects like the seekers behind big and everyone else being small or something like that . I’m not going to spoil it, but if you want to see the next twist, it was revealed after the last hide and seek, you can see it on Amethyst’s channel (amethyst_szs), about 4 hours in, she’s the one who coded the 2D mario in overworld mod, as well as a few other mods like twitch controls SMO, and also takes part in some H&S rounds.
I'm waiting for Hide and Seek but the gravity changes randomly every 20 seconds lol.
I love that smant keeps it interesting by not just chilling in broken spaces. He gives extra hints or goes for comedy with his spaces
this was by far THE MOST ENJOYABLE, THE BEST AND THE MOST INTERESTING, i'd love to see this again, there's still so much maps to see and experiment with while being small.

I love how there was no introduction or explanation into what was going on, he just threw us straight into the madness
I don't know how easy this would be to mod in, but maybe seekers could have something like a 5% speed boost over hiders so they'll *eventually* catch up if the hiders aren't doing some tricky jumps and jukes to make distance. Like Dead by Daylight but with a bunch of Mario clones.
