- Tom Rebenklau's handmade rockets are always the highlight of any event! Tom is a past PGI grandmaster who is known worldwide for his rocket-building skills. At PGI 2022 in Newton, Iowa, Tom brought 48 rockets and let attendees sign up to hand light them! Which rocket(s) was your favorite?
If you have ever met Tom in person, he is one of the nicest people who loves sharing his knowledge and answering questions. One of the most common questions he gets is, "how long does it take to build a single rocket" to which he answers, "I don't know" because he spends time pressing stars individually or building various parts in bulk, so the time to do a single rocket has not been calculated. What we do know is that the amount of time he puts into his rockets is always shown off in the sky with his rocket masterpieces!

Joel I've never seen anyone so meticulous about everything! The placement of the stars to the centering of the burst charge and the precise cutting of time fuse to the thousandth's of an inch! And on and on! If there's a tool for something he's got it. It sure shows in his work!
Oh I know right! I really love Tom's work, but also completely admire him as a person. If you ever have a question, he is more than happy to answer them.
He used to be a machinist so tools are no problem for him.
not only fireworks but works of art. hours and hours and hours went into this I'm sure. 👍👍💥💥. as always great video man. 👍👍💥💥
Truly a master class in building rocket's. A legend and master at his finest!
his blues are to die for, such colour saturation-amazing
I would of never guessed these were rockets. Beautiful breaks. So clean. 👍
Right!? Seriously the best stuff you'll see in person.
Wow! These rockets are very cool!
Truly a pyro genius. He is years ahead of most rocket makers in the world, truly a delight to watch hus work.
I absolutely agree with you! I have been to many events over the years and seen many shows, but I always remember when Tom does rockets! They are the highlight of any event for me.
Wow... Nice rockets fireworks...❤️❤️🎇
Absolutely classic!
Sweet ☝️
This man makes incredible rockets
100% - I only hope one day someone will be able to live up to his legacy
Good stuff
Sick video Joel, did you ever make homemade fireworks ?
I have not actually! I hope to next year with some guidance from professionals
Those were amazing.
got to wonder if he could more without the weight of the sparks going up and his trademark after boom
Awesome products.
I just found this Joel, Awesome, did you get to see how they are made?
I'm glad you did! Tom is an open book. I have listened to him talk about his rocket building, show off the construction and more watch him shoot of so many rockets! It is always a pleasure any time I can hear him talk about his work. The best part, he is very happy to share the information!
I am not a big rocket fan but that was amazing 🧨💥🚀
It's because we normally do not think of rockets like these!
Man those are some stellar rockets !!! Nice video! Also on my bucket list or in next few years wanna go to PGI definitely really amazing!
You should definitely come to PGI if you can!

@@ryannewyspyrotechnics2421 It just happened, so the next one will be around the first week of August next year. The dates and location are still TBD. You can learn more at PGI.org. You would need to become a member and then pay for the convention, but that gets you into everything! Up close seating for shows, demos, class c sales & shooting, tradeshows, all this behind-the-scenes stuff etc.
Wow
Best out there.
Hands down, seriously it's always a joy seeing his work.

@@JoelRobinsonPyrotechnics always do brother 👊
Ohhhh hell yeah somebody finally made a shell loaded with zippers I don't building but if I did that's the first thing I'd build
It was pretty epic too!
are these 1lb, 3lb, or 6lb motors?
Great question, I am unsure.
They are 1 pound
Have you heard if pgi is coming back to Newton next year
I don't think we will know for sure for a few more weeks. It sure sounded like Newton again was at the top of the list though.
I would be good with that. I'm from north central iowa and I wasn't able to go this year
@@mattzeiner8933 Ah man, so close to you too! Yeah, if it returns you should definitely come out!
TR rockets are iconic.
100%! Seriously his rockets are what I remember at any event. I can tell you every time I have watched his rockets dating back 9 years now.
@@JoelRobinsonPyrotechnics that's some lifetime! I really think TR should be honored as a great American. He is always sharing and giving his time for anyone. If only more people were like this we would all be better off. I wanted to goto the PGI but im stuck paying off debt...January I'm debt free and wanting to meet him personally...how do you find out about his events? I really appreciate you talking with me!
@@doyourbest.9554 PGI.org if you're interested in coming next year! I highly recommend PGI over any other event because it has a little something for everyone. I follow a lot of online groups to keep up to date on other events
@@JoelRobinsonPyrotechnics thanks Joel..
I will do just that...thanks for your time and I will keep it touch. God Bless You.
Tom makes rockets ? When did this happen ?
Here u have cheap ass fireworks
Rockets looked great.... Commentary was even better.... NOPE...
LOL! There he is! For anyone that doesn't know, Adam here was one of the ones chatting with me at the end of the video. I found the commentary hilarious as it was randomly throughout the 30+ minutes of the rockets going off.
@@JoelRobinsonPyrotechnics Fun Times - Glad we got to hang out. I think NEXT year - we need to EITHER make it a drinking game or put money down whether a shell is going to be a REALLY Bright Ass Salute!
@@JoelRobinsonPyrotechnics I WISH we could have gotten a picture or video of the silhouette outline of us on the ground when a salute went off.
@@BoomInTheSky That would have been great! Im for turning that into a drinking game lol
