Iâve found that finding your own niche and buying things that are scarce and cool have worked out pretty well for me. Iâm really into to Japanese full art trainer cards and most of the cards I bought have at least doubled in price. Probably never gonna sell them so Iâm cool if they end up being worthless.

Addressing boundaries- unbreakable ones- is a central pillar of investing. Best local investment firm is a tiny 3-man firm. They run a model with âX$â is auto sell, no exceptions, and â$Yâ is auto buy, no exceptions. Result: They make more money every year (and have for nearly 2 decades) per dollar invested than any of the big houses. This applies to PokĂ©mon because THE PRINCIPLES DONâT CHANGE. All great commentary in the video; always have a boundary set and someone who is allowed to call a halt and throw a flag on you being stupid. Poke Vault does his own homework and legwork; he may give you tools, but you have to do the work! Good hunting!

Thanks for the advice. I've been collecting sealed Brilliant Stars blisters and I've had some really good luck with Evolving Skies blisters, but I have to admit I didn't think about Chilling Reign. Adding that to my list!

Chilling reign was the newest released set when I came back into collecting. It is still the cheapest at my LCS, even cheaper than fusion strike. I also feel one day people will start chasing these tops card and kept a BB sealed for these 2 reasons. Not sure why this set is not more popular.

Iâve been risking it for the biscuit on evolving skies booster boxes and have pulled one alt art⊠the golurk V. After feeling like Iâm lighting money on fire Iâm just going to keep what I have left sealed. I donât even have the desire to open that set anymore.

Trying to get a a good little collection going, but some products prices are all over the place at local shops n such. Best prices I've found so far is target bust buy and dollar general. Thanks for your tips. Haven't found any great deals on any older booster packs.

That Charizard UPC like the eeveelution UPC is gonna get cracked open and sold as singles leading to deals on the Zard alts compared to spending full rate or more for sealed

Your local card shop should be able to help
I find as soon as you open anything you lose money. Only guaranteed way to profit is keep sealed. Can get lucky with big hits but in my experience they are few and far between. I got lucky with Vivid Voltage, the first booster box of that set I bought I got the Rainbow Pika. Chilling & Evolving I've not been so lucky. Opened well over 2 cases worth of each of those sets and only have about half the secrets on each set.
Fantastic advice Sean. I bought a Brilliant Stars Booster Box ($161 nz) and paid for it on our eBay equivalent (trademe) but the guy said the box ripped and wouldn't Send it. Was going to keep it for my 8 year old son. You win some you lose some lol. Love your advice

Bought a bunch of evolving skies booster boxes never opened a pack⊠bought an etb and pulled the umbreon vmax big dog first pack. Def dont feel the need to open my boxes now after that. Iv always felt that it was a great investment even with the reprint.

Homework is good. Everybody makes mistakes and sometimes you buy things you shouldnât, but you learn from it. Collecting is tough. I really donât want a sealed collection unless it is very specific items but itâs always great to check what sets are going for and buy low ESPECIALLY if youâre buying to rip. I would personally by two evolving skies boosters. Thatâs chance for a good return if youâre going to open them
If your going to open them, 1 evolving skies and 1 brilliant stars, evolving skies is hit or miss, brilliant stars is fun to open đ

Hey guys keep this in mind just for science, I opened 4 ES boxes last night 144 packs, and I got 1 alt art, Duraludon. Otherwise my pulls were terrible, I went so nagative and I donât know if it was bad luck or what but if you want to open ES maybe avoid boxes.

When I look to findout wiether or not to keep a set opened or sealed, I look at Expected Value(EV). The celebrations pack has an EV of 5.50 CAD. So an ETB has an expected value of around $85 CAD, which is $15 under what it sells for. Not Good! Working on Battle Styles EV bc I'm curious. Will follow up!
Battle Styles has an EV of around CAD 2.50 per pack so you would be losing around $30 at market value, but I have seen booster boxes going much lower at around $107
When evolving skies was $110 a wise man once told me "the set is a goated and cracked, loaded, incredible set"... So I had to go in on 9 boxes as well as a bunch of chilling for 75-80â

Recently made a Japanese side bet getting vmax climax for $50 and Eevee heros $135 I'll enjoy letting em go for the ride for awhile with my vintage collection. Appreciate what you do
@@JohnDoe_88 VMAX Climax is so goated. Hands down the most fun I had opening Pokémon packs. And I think the more fun a set opening is, the more valuable it will become, because people prefer opening it more as opposed to keeping it sealed.
I see this video is 4 months old now but i dont think ES is worth opening. The number of chase cards is also what drives appreciation in sealed product. ES booster packs seem to only be rising in value, where as the sealed products for sets with one or two chase cards are not appreciating, even though they are out of print. ES is also a large set, so despite the large number of chase cards, the odds are still very low or hitting them.

You mentioned as long as they are being printed not to worry. How do you know whether or not it's still being printed?
I mean nothing is really in print. Pokemon company will randomly pre-printed sets at their will. So itâs really more of a time thing than timing
