To answer your question, they dont necessarily play a popular genre of music. People who are into psych/doom/sludge/stoner metal are probably aware of these guys. And just to add, they are fucking fantastic live
@@brandofield1280 ya I saw them live in Portland a couple years ago. I was worried they wouldn’t sound as good because their keyboard player was gone, but they fucking killed it as a 3 piece. They had a backdrop in the style of some of their album artwork that lit up via black lights so it was glowing. The lighting was awesome. There was never a spotlight on them, instead there was colored lights on the floor angled up behind them one on the ceiling angled behind them, so the whole show you saw them as silhouettes mostly. It was a super rad show. I hope to see them again one day after COVID.
I feel you! I got to see them live back in 2017 at the Aftershock festival in Sacramento, they were amazing although they were missing their keyboardist. Still killed it but I hope they get another keyboardist eventually

This song really scratches an itch. I hear so many of my favorite 90's (and other decades) groups somewhere in the mix - Tool, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Primus, maybe that one hit wonder Filter? Even so, the sound and style are unique, and fucking heavy in a gravity manipulating kind of way. Heck, I think half of this song is being played in reverse.
These guys NEVER cease to amaze! Made my fuckin day! One of the best bands I've ever had the privilege of seeing live. They were super down to Earth and cool when I met them too. Criminally underrated. Bring on another album guys!
One of the best bands around and criminaly underated. I saw them playing live 3 times now and i was speechless after every gig. Thank you so much for the music Witches....
So I saw these guys going completely out of the blue last Tuesday in Lisbon, they were opening for Ghost... Their stuff hit me like a TRUCK. You can really "feel" their music... I think the last time I experienced something like this was when I saw a Gojira live. Thanks you for this music! PS: They sound better live
"I can't wait to blow this all away Every time I show feeling I unlearn something somebody taught me Everytime I cry quietly Cry quieter ? soul One by one He follows me Down the dark road Straight to nothing" I LOVE the lyrics..I LOVE this band!!! Hope to see these guys in flesh & bone, until then I'll be wandering around in with the other spirits! 🤘🧙🏼♀️🎶🔥🩸💧🙏🏻
Been listening to these guys for a few weeks now but I discover this jewel only today. Their music is quite something to behold in general, but that tune is on another level altogether
Hardly any Tool vibes, dude. This is stoner rock from Nashville, a whole 'nother thing. If you like this, maybe give Stoned Jesus a try. The are a stoner rock band from Ukraine I found out about recently and they are pretty damn good. Their song I'm The Mountain is awesome. Salut from Belgium.
Went to ghost last night and seen these dudes for the first time. Heard the opening riff and started wondering were slender man was gunna come out of. You guys were sick specially this tune!
This song was an anthem for me as I wrote against a deadline to deliver two novels about the hunt for a serial killer to my publisher. I absolutely love All Them Witches.
Ah man I remember those days all too well. Speaking of PTM I really hope they change from where they are. I actually really liked Evil Friends. It was a bit more poppy but PTM had always been a pop/rock group except for their first album. Woodstock just wasn't my favorite album. Instead of the band just doing their thing and getting an album out in 1-2 years they took 4 years to put a mediocre album out. I don't have a view into their personal lives but I suspect the length in time wasn't due problems. I think they tried over polishing and perfecting the album instead of just going with the flow. Similar to how the 1st 2 Modest Mouse albums were recorded and produced in a couple of weeks to a month if I remember right. Obviously mostly due to budget but nothing else was needed. Imo they recorded 2 near perfect albums. Their last album took 8 fucking years to complete and it was mediocre. It sucks but I really believe as a band's popularity climbs and their ego's and wallets get bigger the music can suffer. Their ego won't allow for a bad album and due to a much higher budget they have access to much more studio time than before. With a bigger audience they feel like they have more people to impress. With no money problems they're not going to be working as fast either. There's a million reasons that can lead to the same outcome. I'm not saying this happens to every band. I just think it's an interesting theory. In no way am I saying ATW is in this category. Lightning at the Door is my favorite album but I've loved everything they've done since. No problems yet lol
@@tylerhowell9735 100% agree. Once greed and fear take over everything goes bad. Evil Friends has some great tracks (Hip-hop Kids ftw) although my personal favorite is In the Mountain in the Clouds mostly because of the funky videos. I spent a lot of time in Alaska and really miss the place. Who knows what's going to happen to them, I believe they need to stop touring for a while and settle down. Maybe do an acoustic album just to get back to their roots. They've been on tour forever, poor Eric!
@@tylerhowell9735 Totally agree. And yes, bands do need to change and evolve over time, but those specific reasons you pointed out do not contribute to an improvement (most of the time). I don't wanna be that boring guy who complains when the band gets famous and starts making money. The problem is that this brings these "bad changes" to the band, even indirectly. Overproduction is almost never good and ends up taking away the essence of the music.
Just saw your comment after I said something similar. This song wreaks of Qotsa and I love it. That early heavy guitar riff sounds so much like something off their first album. Definitely has the creep factor of Someone's in the Wolf as well.
This is fantastic! My first time hearing the song & seeing this visualizer... love the music styling of the track to be sure! More evidence as to why ATW are one of the best genre-defying bands of the contemporary age!
This sounds like what was supposed to happen after the 90’s and never did for some reason. Now we’re back on schedule folks!
Well said!
I like this idea.
Dang
I have a theory that when a music genre loses it's identity or soul, people go back to where it strayed and try taking a different path forward.
@@AzathothsAlarmClock For the record, Soundgarden did a lot for current hard rock/stoner bands
A CZcams suggest for me, and I've been listening for months now. Why are they not more popular?! I would love to see them live

Our Mother Electricity came on autoplay 4 years ago and I've never been so fulfilled by 1 band. They speak to my mind so well.
This song is great live.

Filter isn't a one-hit wonder :D Have you listened to Title of Record? Otherwise agreed!
Filter wasnt really one hit...and singer is the brother of the T-1000, which is kinda epic.
Robby, you glorious bastard.

Getting a real early QOTSA/Kyuss and Tool vibe from this and I love it. This band has always rocked.
If their next album sounds like this, I am SO stoked for it! This song fucking rocks!
Update...new album definitely sounds like the tour with Mastodon unlocked some creative juices
When the Shrooms start kickin in, ya get that feelin @ 00.22 secs. =D

I have to try that someday! :)
I honestly cannot get enough of this.
Rare I find a new band I like. This song is great!
Killer song writing, the tones and harmony's between instruments are great! love the videography! nice rock n mother roll !!
The power of that bloody riff compels me 1:29.. to bang my head against the wall. It's heavier then a witch!!!
But its light as a candle !
@HexagramMan I wanna take you out for a drink just for that comment
hear alot of kyuss in here. Glad these guys exist
Hell yeah man read my mind. Early Homme riffs for sure.
For me it was AIC
