- What does it take to be a man? Society can spin that in so many ways, but more than ever in today’s world of floating bullseyes, we need to have a solid answer. I don’t have it all figured out, and I make many mistakes, but I wanted to share my baseline in this video.

@@MOBStreet83 thank you. There’s many things I try to do as a father of a daughter and a couple of my biggest are encourage her to learn something new everyday and be the example of the man you want her to marry someday.

I sent IF to my nephew when he was at Basic. My parents raised him, although I was there for almost all of it, so he's like my kid too, and I'm so dang proud of him, and the man he's grown to be.

I’m so proud of my boy. I had him as a teenager. One of the best things that ever blessed me. And him and his father sit back 34 yrs later,at our grown responsible police officer son.. now has bless us with 2 wonderful grandsons that he’s teaching. ✨✌️💜🙏🎵

You’re a good dad, I watch this and feel sad for my boys, they have a dad he just didn’t spend time with them, they are grown now but I know they would have loved to have a dad like you , your kids are lucky

😢😢. Don’t know how I missed this but I sure needed this late this night as I’m coming up on the anniversary of losing my adult son and his entire family. A drunk driver took their lives but somehow he still lives and I’m hoping he is making memories with his own sons and family. I know that poem so well and the flash of memories of building his confidence at sports when he didn’t have any. He was born with two club feet which is very rare and took years to correct and so many surgeries making him a weak player when wanted to play with all his heart. A father would have been wonderful but unfortunately he heard his dad say out loud through a door “I hate him and he shouldn’t have been born” a day before another surgery. Importance for being a man is what every dad should want to do as he teaches so many things to a young boy and feel the pat on the head and never be afraid to give a big hug to him. Lincoln sees you Granger as his hero every time you return from touring and waits for that manly hug he’s waited for. Now he can play this video over and over and know and feel he’s always safe with you and proud to call you dad just as you are proud to call him your number one son. So inspiring is this video and for the boys who are waiting to be taught the importance of being a loving and honest man one day. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Well, I very much want to be a good husband and father and find a good wife and mother for my future children.
Pray for our Father God to bring a Christian man into your life. I prayed for a Christian man, that likes fishing, camping and hunting. I married that man two years ago, I never thought to mention age in my prayers. My husband is 91 and I'm 67. I will love him for the rest of my life. He's in much better health than most men half his age and we hunt, fish, camp and attend church and Bible study together. I pray you find that special man. I love you in Christ.

Wow. That was so good! I so hope that some day I can be a man, a husband and a father, just like Granger.
My late Father, who sadly left us in 2015 just prior to his 99th birthday, was awarded his schools poetry prize in 1930, for his recital of Newbolt's Vitai Lampada and Kipling's IF . According to his teachers , his recital was delivered with "Zeal and Gusto" . Something that became a catchphrase of his , for the rest of his life. Those poems are as relevant today , as they were all those years ago when they were written. Brilliant video, and a a fine example.

Oh my granger I how I wish my dad was here now to help me be as good as he was to teach our sons and grandsons how to be a man. That poem is a pure description of how I was raised and who my father is.
A real man lets his heart guide him in any situation that rides up. I never had a father growing up in a world of selfish men but only count a few real men. I now a married man and a stepfather, I know that my heart leads my manly conscious so all the mistakes by the selfish men i will not fall.
