Pauwi is the act of returning home; literate translate is "on the way home", "homewards"... and "ako" is "I". Therefore, "pauwi nako" is "I'm coming home.
"nako" is a shortened word for "na ako"..in which "na" indicates "at the moment / now" and "ako" means "i", so its "pauwi na ako"

na is not a prefix actually. the words are just combined so it looks that way. the "na" in "pauwi nako" is the same as the "na" in "paalam na aking mahal"

In early 2019 this song was really popular in the Philippines. It was playing everywhere!! and there are a lot of dance covers of this in youtube because someone made a choreography using this song and it went viral. Listening to it now reminded me of those times 🤣

"Nako" is a shortcut of "na ako." "Ako" means "I/me" with "na" acting as a connection to the two words to make a sentence (Pauwi/na/ako). When you roughly translate everything to English, it will be "I am about to go home" (take note that we reverse the per word translation to express it correctly to English unless the sentence is expressed as "Ako ay pauwi na" which means the same but does not need a reverse translation). "Pauwi nako" literally means I'm return(ing home) or "Pauwi na ako", It's like "I'm coming home" but there's no word for home there so If you want to say I'm returning home then that might be "Pauwi nako ng bahay" or "Pauwi na ako ng bahay". it's Future tense.
