Einar really has a special energy, like a force of nature, when performing. He’s a great guy! Wardruna is always remembering me of going into the forest once in a while :)
Couldn't agree more!
Einar is a very wise man, talents aside. Great interview.
He's one of the greats!!
"It's my heart on a silver platter to those who want it". Such beautiful words! Einar has such a powerful presence! I really can't wait to see Wardruna live one day! I am from Greece and I feel deeply connected with my ancestors, our ancient history where we come from. I am very interested and attracted by Norse mythology and history too and I am learning Norwegian. That was an amazing interview! Thanks!
I strongly believe in reincarnation. Maybe you were a Norse person in your last life? ;) I know many people who love, for example, the Japanese culture or Korean culture. It makes no sense because they are thousands of kilometers away. But somehow there is a spiritual connection and they become very interested, sometimes downright obsessed with those cultures. I believe you might also have such a connection :)
@@NoctLightCloud I know many people are attracted to other cultures as you said. Makes no sense why this is happening. I was always attracted by ancient times and history. Thousands of years ago. My country's (Greece) ancient history and mythology was my favorite to read and watch since I was a child. And while growing up, I started being attracted to Norway, generally the Scandinavian countries. But mostly Norway, Iceland and Sweden. Can't explain why. Perhaps it is reincarnation as you said🤷🏼♀️
@@jollyrogerasmr I was once at an old lady here in Austria who was like a local "famous" esoteric person ("seer") and she said that my soul is young (only 3rd reincarnation) while my sister's is old (9th reincarnation). It scared me a bit and I am usually not superstitious, but idk why it hit me in that moment that reincarnation of souls makes total sense. I usually never tell anyone cause here in Austria people will laugh at you when you tell such things.
I wasn't that big of a fan before , but after I saw them alive my whole perception about wardruna changed. It's truly marvellous. Funny thing, it was already darkening outside and the wind started picking up. It was the perfect atmosphere I could've asked for a concert of wardruna. cheers!
@@Ayenam55 I really can't wait to see Wardruna live!
"It never left, we did" - so interesting, just today I got this idea, that Wardruna songs are folk songs.. Einar's inspiration is just exactly the same as it was for ancient folk songs.. creation and unity with nature is the same message that so many spiritual teachers shared. Such fantastic time we live now, true awakening.. nice interview, thank you for sharing.
He's a wise man!
Klasse Typen👍 sehr sympathisch und Einar Selvik wurde von den Göttern geschickt um Freude zu verbreiten👍👍👍🇩🇪
He really was!
“It’s the same nature … we can go sit out, we can go to the waterfalls, and learn the songs … it’s still there; it’s waiting; *it never left - we did*.”
Einar: humble, wise beyond the confines of this world, and a true poet. He’s a mighty presence and, once again, you chaps facilitate and enable a beautiful, heartfelt flow of conversation.
I imagine the queue to be on NMP is getting bigger by the day because you create such a wondrous environment of mutual interest, fascinating tangents, and open, meaningful, sometimes hilarious, often profound, and always absorbing communication. Long may it continue, lads. 🤘🙌🙏❤️
Very well said. Great comment!
@@kristandagley7089 Thank you, Kristan. 🙏
@@loretime You're very welcome 🖤 It's good to see someone write something from the heart.
@@kristandagley7089 That’s a kind and lovely thing to say, thank you.
I think these folks stir our hearts so much that it’s easy to pour it all out. We are lucky to be alive in these times with these people.
@@loretime Very much agree...I hope you realize that you're part of "these people" as well. The good tend to always find their way to each other in one form or another.
Wise words from Einar once again.
Always!!
Just wanna say that you guys are great at interviewing. Good questions, fun and most importantly no interruptions
Thank you so much
20:00 Einar about being disciplined on tour and the alcohol culture in the music industry
So good!
Thank you for hosting this great conversation!! Saludos from Saraguro, Ecuador.
Our pleasure!
Hypes are only hypes, but a lot of people genuinely want to explore their roots and ancestral beliefs in order to reconnect. Looking for morsels of knowledge to better their understanding of what was and is. Einar's T-shirt is spot on. An inscription from the Oseberg ship once dedicated to the high(est) profile Völur of their time. 'LITILUISA', interpreted as either 'I who am small, am wise' or 'little (in) wisdom', or meaning both at the same time.
Thank you all for giving our roots the platforms we seek.
It says "LITILUISM" - "litel vis maðr". It means "man knows little".
@@tabiabias You are correct and correct agsin. ;)
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Nature is God - Can’t agree more. So looking forward to the Nordic Night in Borgholm ❤️
Awesome...🇨🇦😎💘. Interesting comment about money and hype. That reminds me of a Navajo elder talking about why they value silver more than gold...gold attracts greed, ill will and trouble!
He's a wise man!
🙌 Great interview Guys.
Excellent interview my dudes \m/
Thank you mate
30 минут интересной беседы, прекрасно!

@@nordicmythologypodcastwhere can i find this logo drawong of einar selvik in the thumbnail?
I like einar because he have his microphone on his beard😅
11:47 - You couldn't imagine a Rammstein-fan wanting to dig into their ancestry. And yea, that's a much more modernistic project, they've practically become a pop-act now. But believe you me, that it's basically the entrance of the rabbit-hole. - I went from bands like Metallica and Iron Maiden, to Rammstein and Dimmu Borgir, and eventually ended up on Heilung and Wardruna. - There always seemed to be something there, like a search for something. It's just like a journey.
Jeg liker Wardruna's music 🎧🎼!!! Always the best wishes from Spain 👋!!! Tusen takk Einar!!! 😉👍
Thank you ❤️
5:27 - At that point, I don't even think it matters what the event is, whether it's Wardruna or some other band. - I saw Rammstein last year in a park, open air, which would've felt completely different in some stadium. - Then I saw them again on a field near the ocean, and it felt different, the sky looked different, the air was different. - What's more is that you also see it become dark and the temperature changes (well, as far as you could tell with Rammstein). And I'm glad I the next time I'll see them will again be in a park. - The energy is different somehow.
I'll be seeing Wardruna this weekend on a more classical indoor stage, which is fair enough. - Then again, I saw Heilung on a typical medium-sized concert-stage, and it simply turned into a Rock-concert, with the Warriors crowdsurfing in the end... Alrighty then!
Fantastic interview! Also invite Gealdýr.
Thank you! Will do!
This was extremely calming, and comforting, if that makes sense. So glad this came up on my feed. Thank you guys for doing this. No hesitation to subscribe. Absolutely beautiful in all ways
Oh, you make *perfect* sense, Kristan. I couldn’t agree more.
@@loretime Thank you 🖤 I know you would know that it made sense 😊
@@kristandagley7089 Are you able to read this one, Kristan? If so, I hope we don’t lose touch either. I’d happily chat Wardruna for England!
@@loretime Yes! Thank you for trying to message me again. That's very thoughtful of you.
Thank you so much
About to see wardruna in Atlanta soon
Hope you had fun!
Simple. Respectful. True.
❤️❤️❤️
Great Interview! What shirt was Einar wearing?
I think it's a Wardruna one.
Будет что послушать в дороге
Hope you enjoyed!
What is written on the shirt of the right guy?
Horns of Odin.
I want that baseball style shirt
www.hornsofodin.com it's Dan's company ❤️
Thank you

Loved this, but please take note about the differences of experimental and experiental archaeology. Here's a good short introduction of the two : czcams.com/video/pcDESLCi9K4/video.html
Glad you enjoyed it!
A bit ironic what he says about electricians. "You wouldn't hire a drunk electrician" having worked as an electrician for many years i can say there are quite a few workers who go into alcohol withdrawal by noon if they don't get a drink in them. I agree with Einar's point but I thought it was funny.
Too true!
Up
❤️
Einarr -- en ukronet konge!
Absolutely!
but i do listen to rammstein and think about my German ancestors
I do love Rammstein
28:01 - Oh no, that means generic tribal tattoos are gonna make a comeback.
Too many imitators but only one Wardruna .
