The song is called The Sons of Arathor. It paying tribute to the fact that the city of Strom (Stromgarde) was the original capital city of the Arathor Empire which was the first ever unified Human nation to exist in the Warcraft universe.
This was one of my favorite tracks in Cata. It's such a chilling, somber, yet some-what hopeful theme. So fitting for the Arathi Highlands. Once the initial center of the Human Empire, now contexted between the Horde and Alliance, yet forever owned by the Elements.
Something broken, but worth fighting for...try to rebuild again... Honor and Brotherhood like Orikon25 said.. Just an awesome piece of music.. I really love this! Thank you blizzard for your Awesome Songs ! I Love them
I have played wow since vanilla and have always listened to the music of wow (since I am writing much music myself), there are many great tracks but this is BY FAR the best one.
3:10-3:53.. Such greatness, such mightyness, such victory.. This really is amazing guys. Everything seems possible when you hear this soundtrack. Good job blizzard!
The Rise of the Forsaken seems to have no end. They've taken back all of Silverpine and almost all of the Eastern Plaguelands, they swept through Hillsbrad and killed everything that wore the insignia of the Alliance, and are now commencing their attack on Arathi. I'm waiting for the day where King Wryyn realizes the true threat they pose and an all-out war breaks out between the Eastern Alliance and the Forsaken/Blood Elves begins.
Never heard this piece before but... OH MY GOD IT SOUNDS SOOOO POWERFUL!! Let me go on my horse, I don't want to live in a big city and work everyday anymore!
I think that 3:10 is the best part because it captures the reason why I ( and maybe a few of you others ) play WoW. For the beauty, and tragedy, the blood and the peace, the joy and the sparrow. I can't speak for any of you guys but this is the best musical piece in WoW.
World of Warcraft has the BEST video game soundtrack. I have heard numerous game soundtracks and this is by far best. I miss wow, cause i cannot listen to this music while i play
With Legion coming out there's hints to Danath Trollbane returning! Hopefully he'll reunite the Stromgarde people and rebuild the once great empire to combatant the legion!
I want an event to happen here where a massive battle for Stromgarde happens between the forsaken and the league of arathor, that would be so fucking epic! XD
2:57 -3:55 -> i imagine the dwarves , united , at a single front to stand their ground in a line of trust against anything that threatens the peace of the Alliance ! If you read " The Dwarves" by Markus Heitz , you will know what i am talking about ...
@Troo44 There is kind of a hint in one of the forsaken quests that there will be a major patch involving arathi highlands. Something like "The conquest of arathi will not take days, but months" That's how I kind of remember what was said.
The Forsaken think we're weak. A broken people. They think we'll roll over like a scared dog. How wrong they are. We will fight them in the fields until the last trench collapses and the last cannon is silenced. We will fight them on the streets until the last shot is fired. And when there's no more ammunition, we'll crush their skulls with the stones that pave our city. We will fight them in the alleys, until our knuckles are skinned and bloody and our rapiers lay on the ground shattered. And if we find ourselves surrounded and disarmed... wounded and without hope... we will lift our heads in defiance and spit in their faces. But we will... NEVER SURRENDER!!!!! FOR GILNEAS!!!
They did bro. Gnomes used one on Gnomergan (with a 'radiation bomb', in other words a nuke or dirty bomb) to combat the Trogg invasion. That's why I love gnomes man, they freakin' nuke their own city to fight an invasion. Talk about crazy.
Yeah, but it should be made bigger, so it'll have what a city needs. BG masters, class trainers, etc. Also, maybe they can add something there useful for pvp
@RolandAxforde Well, if the Alliance goes to war with the Forsaken, I'm sure the Blood Elves, who are like a n hour's walk away from Undercity, will not city idly by and watch...even though the Forsaken are kind of douche bags.
I think if they slowed the pace of expansion release, WoW would be much more than it is today :) Timing is key, now the game is overflowing with rubbish.

The Arathor battle tabard the yellow one from vanilla wow was the best tabard i ever saw in the game.
I absolutely love this tune. Everytime I listen to it is like the first time. Its enchanting. Arathi had some of the best music, hands down.
This was one of my favorite tracks in Cata. It's such a chilling, somber, yet some-what hopeful theme. So fitting for the Arathi Highlands. Once the initial center of the Human Empire, now contexted between the Horde and Alliance, yet forever owned by the Elements.
According to Wowpedia, this is one of the few tracks Glenn Stafford (the composer for Warcraft II) has made for World of Warcraft.
He was also one of the lead composers for Warcraft 3, and he's is one of my favourite musicians ever.
I appreciate the information Mr.Sprano! Im still in "love" with Warcraft II.
This is the only reason for me to level in Arathi Highlands.
Who ever composed this tune is brilliant! 03:10 onwards is so inspiring
Warcraft 3 vibe.
Arathi Highlands is the most epic zone i ever quested in. Even in classic this was my favorite zone, and it still is.
What was so epic in classic about arathi? Killing some trolls, kobolds, elementals, and the 3 elite quests in stormgarde keep?
3:20
Some of the best music from WoW i've ever heard.
This is what keeps me doing my Wildhammer dailies without going insane.
IMO this inundates me with a gigantic wave of epicness. One of the best tracks from Blizz I've ever heard!
Say what you want about Cata, but you need to admit the music was gorgeous
3:25 whistling part is why i searched for this song
Something broken, but worth fighting for...try to rebuild again...
Honor and Brotherhood like Orikon25 said..

Thank you blizzard for your Awesome Songs ! I Love them
Sentimental shit again.. ffs just lissen to that sound..
Bloodangel1212 Everyone ascribes different meaning to music, for some that involves emotion. Go fuck yourself, Bloodangel!
Wanna Cry or what? Stupid Kid.
Listening to this makes me nostalgic for the days when WoW was about the adventure :C
This just SCREAMS adventure!
The horns entering at 5:21 is beautiful. This is one of the best cataclysm themes overall.
3:08 - Trust, honor, and brotherhood between two long time friends.
I have played wow since vanilla and have always listened to the music of wow (since I am writing much music myself), there are many great tracks but this is BY FAR the best one.

well than , 6 years laters , this is happening
0:30 - 0:43 I feel like I am being splashed by a sweet wave of epicness, I don't know how to express it.
flute part is amazing
The first 30 or 40 seconds reminds me SO much of the first fable
"Lord Lothar why did you never strike victory"- Luc "Because Some Defeats are bigger than Victories"- Anduin Lothar
LordaeronTactics when did he said that.
Never heard this piece before but... OH MY GOD IT SOUNDS SOOOO POWERFUL!!
Let me go on my horse, I don't want to live in a big city and work everyday anymore!

There is no blood in wow though.
So many good ones. I liked Lake Wintergrasp, Grizzly Hills, Howling Fjords, Vortex Pinnacle... etc.
2:51- ...
Thank you for linking the music to the lore. I found your comment to be very insightful.
Gandalf! What a pleasure to see you!
Wow, this music is so beautiful and emotional
I love it
I know tht feel, bro) And it is just awesome...
World of Warcraft has the BEST video game soundtrack. I have heard numerous game soundtracks and this is by far best. I miss wow, cause i cannot listen to this music while i play

He ded. He a dedknight now.
nah his uncle is the deathknight
Oh he'll be important in BfA.
Nah. He wasn't. He's nowhere despite the Arathi Warfront. Missed opportunity Blizz.
I want an event to happen here where a massive battle for Stromgarde happens between the forsaken and the league of arathor, that would be so fucking epic! XD
Hey, its me from the future, saying you have gotten you're wish
2:57 -3:55 -> i imagine the dwarves , united , at a single front to stand their ground in a line of trust against anything that threatens the peace of the Alliance ! If you read " The Dwarves" by Markus Heitz , you will know what i am talking about ...
This is a freaking amazing track! Is this the same track that existed in Classic (even if in parts) or is this something completely new?
the best epic music of the blizzard!! for the best RPG game ever!
einfach nur Episch dieses lied
@Troo44 There is kind of a hint in one of the forsaken quests that there will be a major patch involving arathi highlands.

I dont know what song plays in the Emerald Dream when you visit it but this should be it I fell this would fit it so much.
They did bro. Gnomes used one on Gnomergan (with a 'radiation bomb', in other words a nuke or dirty bomb) to combat the Trogg invasion. That's why I love gnomes man, they freakin' nuke their own city to fight an invasion. Talk about crazy.
The beginning makes me think of Storm Peaks
Sounds a little like fable at the beginning. And I like it.
8.1 back!
It's so similar to Fable Soundtracks, most the beginning :)
I agree
3:20 - 3:53, very, very beautiful so much Elwynn forest
like a Fable ;D
Love it. When will Blizzard bring Danath Trollbane back to Azeroth, so that he can retake Stromgarde? I wanna see Trollbane in action.
Hey, its me from the future, Play Battle for Azeroth to find out
Plague bombs... Like a boss
Feels like Fable 3 music kinda :D
@Troo44 maybe because this will be a major lvling zone in cata
not sure if its a nuke but if you go to the alliance flying ship in icecrown it has a HUGE bomb ready to drop inside of it
For some reason it reminds me of Magus' Theme from Chrono Trigger
I don't know why, but the part at 0:30 - 0:45 reminds me of something from a movie.
The Lion King
dam this song is way better than in wrath O_O
@holymadgod Why blood elves?
Yeah, but it should be made bigger, so it'll have what a city needs. BG masters, class trainers, etc. Also, maybe they can add something there useful for pvp
BLIZZARD, Y U NO UPDATE ARATHI?!
hmmm what would happen if you would mix paul romero and wow music soundtrack?
my guees i would die from epicnes
Almost cried at 1:20
i always try to stop and listen to the music when i'm in Arathi but i keep getting attacked by raptors >.
6:00 - 6:55
Exactly
From 3:00 to 3:20 seems exactly like a Harry Potter ost
0:43 - 1:00
@LaQtoz i have think the same xD
Ich kann nicht nachvollziehen warum du die 10 Sekuden danach nicht mit einbezogen hast o.O Die Stelle steht dem davon in nichts nach....
Grizzly Hills *.*
This song makes the long rides in classic much easier
@RolandAxforde Well, if the Alliance goes to war with the Forsaken, I'm sure the Blood Elves, who are like a n hour's walk away from Undercity, will not city idly by and watch...even though the Forsaken are kind of douche bags.
Twilight Highlands also
Like that :D?
@marimba87 bridge. ._.
Fable music?!?!
За Орду!
why they make new music for a zone they did nothing with? strange....
Fantasy Paladin good question
0:08
I think if they slowed the pace of expansion release, WoW would be much more than it is today :)
Timing is key, now the game is overflowing with rubbish.
They added so many much needed updates and quality of life changes to the game. For example, take a look at the map from mop vs now.
Everything in Shadowlands feels completely soulless compared to this.
