    Once the torque tube is removed, here's how to rebuild it: czcams.com/video/aN4lQ4_tJZo/video.html

    Outstanding man, I'm so glad you made this very detailed, and real world video. so glad you didn't skip past the hard parts like many other videos I've watched. I'll be doing mine soon. much appreciated.

    It's easier if you removal the rear suspension cradle from the diff and trans first. Drops a lot of weight. And jacking up a bit higher helps. Say at least 18" to jack points on the sides. Thanks for the long video.

    Thanks for the video! It's very helpful to prepare/refresh.
    On suggestion: If you had supported the engine at its rear with a jack rather than a stand, you could have tilted it a little bit and the shaft would have come out easier. Now you put a lot of strain on the shaft when the transmission is lowered but the engine can't tilt.

    I have clutch fluid leaking from the bottom of my bell housing, do you think it’s my slave cylinder, clutch pedal is stuck to the floor and and master cylinder looks fine

    • @AlbertoMartinez-nx7hr
      @AlbertoMartinez-nx7hr Před 3 lety +2

      Thanks for the detailed video btw! I believe I might have to do this in the coming days

    • @cqe5009
      @cqe5009  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes definitely sounds like the slave is the problem. That’s the only thing in the bellhousing that could be leaking clutch fluid. The line is attached to the slave cylinder and plugs into a quick disconnect up on the frame, but even if the line itself is leaking, the slave still has to be replaced because they are one unit. Does your car have a remote bleeding line? Definitely get one if you have to take the torque tube out. Regular bleeding will help avoid the pedal sticking.

    • @AlbertoMartinez-nx7hr
      @AlbertoMartinez-nx7hr Před 3 lety

      @@cqe5009 thanks on your input , makes total sense. And no unfortunately I didn’t but I will for sure be getting one, one last question, do I have to measure the new slave cylinder even if I’m getting the same original gm slave.

    • @AlbertoMartinez-nx7hr
      @AlbertoMartinez-nx7hr Před 3 lety

      Sadly also have long tube headers so it’ll also be that much of a pain haha but it is what it is

    • @cqe5009
      @cqe5009  Před 3 lety +1

      @@AlbertoMartinez-nx7hr there is a lot of mixed opinions out there on measuring the slave cylinder to see if a shim is needed or not. I put a GM slave cylinder and LS7 clutch in my car, and most people would say no need to measure that setup. I did anyways (to be on the safe side) and I ended up needing a 0.180" shim. So I would suggest ordering the shims and measuring it, if you don't need them then you can always return the shims.

    Looks like a job that should be done on a hoist. Not safe or efficient way to do this job. I’d pay someone else to do this as it’s not easy like my 1973 Vette was. Be careful.😬

    • @cqe5009
      @cqe5009  Před 3 lety +3

      Yes doing this on a lift would be easier. But it can be done this way. Most people don't have a lift in their garage.

  • @ronsteitz4535
    @ronsteitz4535 Před 3 lety

    Looks very unsafe the way you are doing this repair. Has to be better options,your life is worth it. Safe the money and it will be done with warranty work after the repair. Watching U-Tube I’ve seen guys do this jog and skipping one step could mean starting all over again. Getting crushed under a car all by yourself is not the way.😬👎
