  • ♡ How I Place My Blood Sugar Sensor/Monitor! ♡
So today I placed the FreeStyle Libre sensor. I use this device to track and monitor my blood sugars as I often get extremely low sugars, which can be super dangerous and even life threatening.
So this way I can monitor them all the time with just a quick painless scan and its actually been a life saver! I highly HIGHLY recommend!
Disclaimer: this is NOT sponsored I just love this brand. If anyones interested in trying this out the links are below :)

When I got it inserted into my arm it did hurt a little. But after about 2 days it became so sore and I cried for ages. After about 2 hours of me crying in pain my Mam took it out of my arm. Then she went and got a new one after 2 days. But the same pain problem happened again. So we never did get it again.

Hi Amy! I have T1D and Hashimoto both recently diagnosed. I’ve been using the Freestyle Libre pretty much ever since and it really helped me go through. Here in Italy it costs about 60€/sensor, same for the scanner, but fortunately 🎉🎉 now it’s paid by Health Care system!
It takes a while to learn how to read it, but I have really nearly abandoned the finger pricks! If I may add a couple suggestions, try applying it 12-24h before expiration of the previous sensor, so that it’s like ‘adjusting’ to the interstitial fluids without ‘wasting’ operational hours, and I usually cover it with medical tape in order to strengthen the anchorage and make it stick through the 14 days, especially in summer.
Anyhow, you are so inspiring to me and seeing you manage all your conditions like a pro really help me stay positive!
    Wish you all the best!

Thanks so much for this. I'm starting Monday with this. I have epilepsy, diabetes and gastroperesis.....as u know this in itself is very painful. I was so sick of 4 or more finger sticks a day. I also have a medical service dog that alerts me before seizures and sugar crashes and spikes. But the level makes a difference when knowing how much insulin is needed.
Amy, and to anyone else who is struggling with chronic illness, I highly recommend looking into a service dog. If u have allergies, poodles are used. They don't shed at all. It's worth it. I also train service dogs and can help if anyone who is interested. Just let me know.

The little “tube” that’s under the skin is not a needle, it’s the actual sensor part, it’s soft ;)

This is a really random question but my mom recently noticed my voice has changed and I don’t notice it. and she heard me listening to your video and said i sound like you despite the accent I’m from the US.. and she was like who is she and I explained your health issues and she wanted me to ask. Although you have your GI paralyzed do you have acid reflex? My mom thinks my voice has changed bc of that.. I appreciate your help!

Amy I am interested in one of those Free Style Libre (Glucose) systems and I don't know anyone that has one. I am really super glad that you've decided to make a video about this. My Dr. seemed to be wishy washy about me having one of these, and I really want to find out how these FreeStyle Libre Systems work and if you like it use.
    1. Can you shower with it and if so do you have to cover it when showering and how does it work with you are in higher heat temperatures in the Summer time(also do you have issues with it when it is winter time?)
Again, thanks for showing this! :)
