Thank you for the thorough explanation.
This is the third video that I watched to learn this game. Explained in a concise, simple manner. Thank you!
I have introduced three friends of mine to this game. We are planning a RIDICULOUS comical party where we all dress up like gentlemen, pour a few drinks, make fancy tea sandwiches, and play this game as a tournament for ourselves - all because of this video. Thank you.
Sounds awesome 😂
Can you only switch out hidden cards? Got an old lady yelling at me right now saying only face down can be switched.
Looks fun and simple but with a good amount of depth to keep it interesting. Thanks for the video.
Way to go, this video was so direct and thorough. Thank you!!
Thank you so much for this video! it was explained so well and made it easy to understand!
Thank for the clear instructions. This is a fun game!
Very well explained.
My compliments to the producer of this video. The graphics, demonstration, explanations and demonstration is superb! Thanks.
Well done. Thank you.
I used this video to teach my friend. I have since added new incentives for scores.
4 of a kind: -4 points
Small straight (3 pairs): -6 points
Large straight (4 pairs): -8 points
Thanks for the easy and simple explanation
You are welcome!
Well done!
Cole, thanks for this video! I had learned this game a while ago with slightly modified rules, but couldn’t remember quite how to play. Your explanation was quick, concise, and easy to follow.
I’ve started a bit of a golf craze at the school I teach at, and it’s also a favorite in my family. Thanks again!
Great to hear, thanks for watching!
Ur the reason I love rummy
U r the best thank u
Ending is epic
Very nice
My friends and I definitely play this different. Our kings and jokers are both worth 0, any matching pair cancels out, not just columns, and we start play by looking at and memorizing our bottom 3 cards, then playing the round with the cards all face down. Play continues each hole until one person *knocks* on the table, signaling that they forfeit their turn and are satisfied with their cards. Then everyone else gets one more draw, and then scores are counted for the hole. We also have a social drink every time a paired card lands in the discard pile, for instance a queen is discarded on top of a queen. *DRINK!* That happens surprisingly often.
A card game that starts similarly and has the same objective as Golf (get the lowest score) is called KOMBIO. It's Golf plus abilties and card shedding. Players can view, swap and match cards - this creates very dynamic rounds 😎
amazing video! simple and explains everything well. do you know who invented the golf card game tho? can't really find any background on this game
So if you pick a card from the deck and don’t wanna switch it for one of your cards. You discard it and that’s it? I could’ve sworn you have to flip over one of your cards if you choose to discard. Someone let me know if I’m wrong.
I know this rule too and I like it very much
We play a different variation. Jacks and sevens are 0 points. King is 10 points. Jokers are -5 points. A box is worth -20 points and a box of jokers is worth negative -40. This keeps scores closer to par, and allows players who are losing badly to use high risk strategies to get back in the game.
Golf is actually an interesting strategy game. Play high cards because they are often discarded and easy to match? Play low cards to keep the risk down? Play fast (even if you take points) to trap the leader with a bad score? Play slow to minimize score? Swap your face up cards to reduce points on the board or focus on matches? A lot of strategy actually.
It’s also fun if you do honors. Players go in order of the score from the previous round (lowest first), but that requires a lot of moving around.
Fun game. We play using 9 cards a deuce is worth -2 and jokers are wild. No diagonal 3 in a row only horizontal and vertical. 3 in a row is a zero row. A quad is 4 cards next to each other which = -25. Great game. I will try the 6 card version.
I have a question for the card game. After a round one, do you keep your cards flipped upward and you keep switching them or do you flip them all down?
Can you replace face up cards?
Could you switch two cards that is faces up in your deck to make a matching card?
No, you can only switch your cards with a card from the middle deck or discard pile.
This is different from what I thought it was going to be; the golf card game I know of is a solitaire game.
Can you flip over one of your face down cards for ur turn, instead of picking from either pile
No, you have to pick from a pile each turn
Say for instance I plucked a card and switched it with a card that was faced down. My next turn, could I replace that same card I just plucked with another card I plucked?
+Bmanstaycoolin Yes, that move is acceptable.
What is the name of the song that is in the intro and at the ending?

Really should just watch these videos before fighting over rules that I just learned
Hi I noticed that you don't ever replace face up cards with a new one is that because it's not allowed or you chose not to in the examples?
It is allowed to replace face up cards.
If you draw a card can you switch it with a flipped up card?
Yes
Can I replace a card more than once? For example, it's my turn and I draw a 5 and decide to keep it in favor of one of my hidden cards, then on my next turn I draw a card and get a 2. Can I keep the 2 in the 5's spot which I drew last round and place the 5 back in the discard pile?
+Beau Bradshaw Yes, you can replace a card multiple times.
Beau Bradshaw n
lol. who downvotes an instructional video?
I know right 😂
Bots lol
This is also called Polish Poker, right?
Should we flip our cards for everybody to see
At the very end, does the score should be 6 (5+ Ace) since 2 matches 2 and Joker matches King?
But remember that joker is -2 points
@@kierosavolainen3252 Oh I got it. I just missunderstood. Thanks.
how did end result in 4 pts. if joker is 2 and ace is one and 5 is five
A joker is negative 2.
What if you are forced to finish a round with un-turned cards? Is that possible?
Yes, you will just flip over un-turned cards after your last turn.
Can you only switch out hidden cards?
You can switch out face up cards too
May a player simply turn over a card without picking up from the deck?
No, you only get to turn over the 2 cards on your first turn. After that, you can only exchange a card with a drawn card.
There are a lot of variations of this game, and yes, there is one variant that allows players to turn a card rather than draw. Not everyone agrees on point values of cards or use of the jokers, so if you're in a new group, make sure you have talked over the house rules.
Score at 2:46
🙃
So if that player replaces the 5 away he gets lesser points :3
How to Play Sushi Go
How player 4 has 17 points?
Matching cards only count if they are in the same column. Player 4 did have two sets of matching cards, but none of them were in the same column, so they don’t count
Bruh your videos are good that but music is so loud. Always hurts my ears.
This is the fifth video I watched of yours. You’re saying her quite a bit. But clearly they are all male hands and arms.
why is everyone a she, don't assume my gender
In card game writing, it's normal to pick either "he" or "she" and stick with it rather than use the singular "they". "She" was once gender neutral, too, according to one of my sources.
moron
Is there a reason you always say "her/she" for a player? Its a little odd since youre a guy
