Mike Tyson is the human equivalent of a Staffordshire Bull terrier- compact, fast, incredibly powerful and extremely tough and ferocious- a specialist in bringing down much larger opponents. Frank Bruno- what a legend, a talented boxer- often underrated, very powerful and immensely courageous, an absolute gentleman with a terrific sense of humour. Tyson respected him as an opponent, after his first victory against Frank, he came over and embraced Frank and said, "Outstanding, outstanding!" to him. Frank was a fine boxer, Mike was a superb boxer- both great athletes.

Bruno had a detached retina from his fight with Mchall, don king fiddled his medicals so the fight would go ahead!! Bruno went in knowing he could be blinded so held on and defensive as long as he could!!
Yes but just for the moment, return of Tyson release from prison and regaining the championship after 6 years it was like a great come back, but spoiled by non seriousness months later with Holyfield. Actually this fight was his best performance after prison.
"And down goes Bruno......" If ever four words could have been more predictable...... But this was Mike at his best so you can substitute the name Bruno for any boxer that ever lived had they met Mike at his best. Great classic fight thanx for posting!!!👍
Luckily Tyson got him out of there quick. Bruno really deserved to win a world title. Unfortunately he really deserved to lose it as well. I don't know what Benn brought to the camp but I've never seen Bruno look so wired before a fight.
It's easy to make excuses but apparently Bruno entered the fight with a serious injury, a detached retina & was in danger of losing his sight, not sure how he passed the medical prior but when the eye was cut during the opener he practically gave up & offered little in the way of resilience.
Mike Tyson was an animal, and in his prime, he was formidable. He should have stopped with Kevin Rooney, and he would have been heavyweight champion for years, but when Don King and Robin Givens got involved, it was all about money. After the Spinks fight, Tyson fired Rooney along with all other staff that comprised the Team Tyson from the beginning. The day Tyson fired Kevin Rooney, there was a cap put on Mike Tyson's development as a fighter. He did not develop anymore beyond that day.
Let it never be forgotten that frank played a huge part in this era. A good man that worked tirelessly to try and achieve his goals. Tyson an ATG ... formidable
He was beat at the walk in by fear. Frank had the size but Iron Mike had the devastation. Tyson admits he nearly got knocked out by Frank but he couldn't finish him off.
It's all in your mind..Bruno was a terrible boxer because he simply did not have the killer instinct. His tactics are terrible and he stinks of fear, and if you're in fear, you've already lost son...
No match with Tyson. Only another Mike Tyson can defeat this Tyson. Really a great Champion he is. In a boxing match, the defensive strategy can’t make you win and only one has to be offensive.
Tyson was still an absolute beast but, as we saw in his subsequent fights, he appeared and became human. In his early 20s, Tyson was an inhuman, relentless wrecking machine; just compare the movement and pace that he comes out with in the first round of each of his fights against Bruno. Understandably after his long time out of the ring, Tyson's physique had also changed and appeared slightly slimmed down. He was still a formidable boxer but the earlier Tyson, before all the distractions and diversions, was unstoppable. At least we saw peak Tyson because his pure intensity, focus and hunger had already begun to dim prior to his time in prison.
Awesome of Tyson to go n console Bruno after the fight. Tysons last decent fight. However, he should have scrapped with Lennox Lewis at this point to sort out who was the best.
1996-03-16 - MGM Grand, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Frank Bruno, UK (40-4-0, KO's 38) vs. "Iron" Mike Tyson, USA (43-1-0, KO's 37) - 2nd match. - WBC Heavyweight Championship of the World - # Frank Bruno was making his 1st world title defense: 1995 - # Mike Tyson was world ranked: 1# WBA, 2# WBC & 2# IBF. # Tyson entered the fight as a 5-1 favorite to win. # Defending champion Bruno's purse was $6 million - Challenger Tyson purse was $30 million. # The fight was televised live on pay-per-view by Showtime. It generated 1.37 million buys and $58.3 million in PPV revenue. # Bruno was 34 years old - Tyson was 29 years old = 5 years of age difference. # Bruno had height and reach advantage, while Tyson had youth advantage and psychological advantage from previous win. # Bruno was making his first defense of the WBC heavyweight title, which he had won from Oliver McCall six months earlier. It took Bruno 4 tries to win a world title. He had previously lost title fights to Tim Witherspoon, Tyson and Lennox Lewis. # This was Tyson's third fight since being released from prison, where he served three years for a rape conviction. BACKGROUND: On 2 September 1995, Frank Bruno finally became world champion by outpointing WBC Champion Oliver McCall over twelve rounds. In order for Bruno to get the title fight against champion McCall - he had been forced to sign a contract from Don King that signed to get McCall meant he had to face Mike Tyson in his first defense if he won the fight = Bruno won. However, the 1# WBC contender and mandatory challenger was at the time Lennox Lewis, who had won his WBC status back in May 31s 1995 after having knocked-out in 5 rounds the WBC 2# Lionel "The Train" Butler in an WBC Elimination contest was side-stepped. Despite being the 1# contender and mandatory, the WBC allowed Mike Tyson to go ahead to fight Frank Bruno for the WBC world title and controversially agreed with the Don King contract. Lewis filed for court order to protest the decision. The WBC ordered that the winner between Bruno-Tyson would afterwards fight Lewis. AFTERMATH: Bruno performed unusually poorly in what turned out to be his last bout as a professional due to a severe eye injury caused by Tyson, but had shown wear & tear already from his fight with McCall. Bruno was medically examined and advised not to fight again to avoid running the big risk of causing any more damage to it, which could result in permanent blindness. Bruno retired soon after the fight against his will, something that would create depressions in the following years. Mike Tyson on the other hand would not go to fight Lewis and defend his newly won WBC world heavyweight title but instead fight lesser world-wide recognized WBA world heavyweight champion Bruce Seldon, a fight that was regarded an easier win and easier pay-day by critics. Lennox Lewis was frustrated and his team once again threatened to go to court to prevent the WBC title to go anywhere else and the WBC sided with Lewis on this case as Tyson was obligated to defend the WBC title against him and would not sanction the WBC title if Tyson fought Seldon. Tyson's team made a deal with a step-a-side fee of $4 million to Lewis and a promise that after Tyson had fought Seldon and unified the WBC/WBA titles, he would accept Lewis's challenge. Lewis accepted the terms. Tyson went ahead and defeated Seldon in a very easy fashion of a 1st round KO that many felt Seldon gave a poor performance and even suspected of taking a dive, something Seldon repeatedly denied was the case. Suddenly short afterwards, Tyson dropped the WBC title all together (similar to Riddick Bowe did in 1992 to Lewis) and would not fight him at all and instead fight WBA 3# Evander Holyfield, now a former 2-time HW world champion and viewed by many to be on decline. Lennox Lewis would on on February 7, 1997 fight WBC 2# Oliver McCall in a long awaited rematch for the now vacant WBC world heavyweight title. This was a fight Lewis wanted just as much as fighting Tyson due to he wanted to avenge his "fluke" loss to McCall who he had ever since his 1994 upset loss claimed was a loss that should never have happened and that he would make sure McCall would pay in a rematch. But McCall had repeatedly declined a rematch to Lewis, until now when both where to fight again for the belt.

Yes but just for the moment, return of Tyson release from prison and regaining the championship after 6 years it was like a great come back, but spoiled by non seriousness months later with Holyfield. Actually this fight was his best performance after prison.
There will never be another mike tyson .......there will ever be ......i respect u my forever champ..my idol...the ferocious
He gave us one last glimpse in this fight.
"And down goes Bruno......"
If ever four words could have been more predictable......
But this was Mike at his best so you can substitute the name Bruno for any boxer that ever lived had they met Mike at his best.
Great classic fight thanx for posting!!!👍
I LOVE MIKE TYSON 🥊💪👍👊❤️
Bruno held on for dear life throughout
It feels like today....the sweetest fight match I have probably ever watched.
If u r watching dis match in 2024, gather here
I grew up watching frank Bruno, legend,
😷🌍✌💖😷
Luckily Tyson got him out of there quick. Bruno really deserved to win a world title. Unfortunately he really deserved to lose it as well. I don't know what Benn brought to the camp but I've never seen Bruno look so wired before a fight.
It's easy to make excuses but apparently Bruno entered the fight with a serious injury, a detached retina & was in danger of losing his sight, not sure how he passed the medical prior but when the eye was cut during the opener he practically gave up & offered little in the way of resilience.
It was clear as day that Frank was scared to death
100 years from now people can talk only about mike and maybe ali nobody will remember evander lewis and others
Mike Tyson paralizaba las noches con sus peleas grande Mike 🥊🥊
Tyson e uma máquina de triturar . Uma lenda o mundo nunca vai ter um cara desse dinovo.
There were glimpses here of the young Tyson, his hip movement. All his power came from his hips. Tokio Tyson was a flat footed statue.
This was the last time we were given a glimpse of the Tyson of old, he fought well & rolled back the years.
Did u see Bruno’s loosing face when the ref giving the rules lmao 🤣🤣
My all time favourite boxer Tyson
Mike Tyson was an animal, and in his prime, he was formidable. He should have stopped with Kevin Rooney, and he would have been heavyweight champion for years, but when Don King and Robin Givens got involved, it was all about money. After the Spinks fight, Tyson fired Rooney along with all other staff that comprised the Team Tyson from the beginning. The day Tyson fired Kevin Rooney, there was a cap put on Mike Tyson's development as a fighter. He did not develop anymore beyond that day.
Can't argue with a word of that. He had a bunch of clowns in his corner after he fired Rooney.
Bruno was never in the class of Tyson, but hey he got paid to get beat up.
He was the champion he had to fight t0 defend his title
Let it never be forgotten that frank played a huge part in this era. A good man that worked tirelessly to try and achieve his goals. Tyson an ATG ... formidable
Thanks for the video, BOXING CLASSICS
He was beat at the walk in by fear. Frank had the size but Iron Mike had the devastation. Tyson admits he nearly got knocked out by Frank but he couldn't finish him off.
as soon as the ref stopped bruno holding all the time the fight was over.
30 years ago ..god I must be old .it seems like yesterday I waiting up for this fight .....and ......hes BACK
Me too, i can remember staying up all night for this one.
Tyson, Tupac Suge Tommy
RIP fight doctor great man
11" reach advantage, 30+ lb. jesus, Mike. wow.
Back in the day when I was glued to the tv to watch a championship fight. Not now.
Didnt expect to see Tupac and Suge Knight at the end there, wow!
Yup, plus he came out to the song Pac made for him for the fight
The bads man off Heavyweight Boxing and the bads man off Hip Hop Tupac legends 🐐 power off there era Thug Life iron Mike
As soon as he stopped holding,it was over in 7 seconds.
Bruno was a British icon but average at best.
Look Tyson was an excellent heavy weight top 10 for me,I don't think he was ever as good as he was in the 80s but still a phenomenal fighter
What a great fighter Tyson was, completely and utterly smashed Bruno too pieces
Greatest to ever step foot in a ring.
Certainly Tyson 86/88 had an argument.
@Sofiane Kalai . That meant for me bro?
@Sofiane Kalai . My boy ☠👊
- WBC Heavyweight Championship of the World -
# Frank Bruno was making his 1st world title defense: 1995 -
# Mike Tyson was world ranked: 1# WBA, 2# WBC & 2# IBF.
BACKGROUND:
On 2 September 1995, Frank Bruno finally became world champion by outpointing WBC Champion Oliver McCall over twelve rounds.
AFTERMATH:
Bruno performed unusually poorly in what turned out to be his last bout as a professional due to a severe eye injury caused by Tyson, but had shown wear & tear already from his fight with McCall.
What a fight, Tyson knows how to win!
Bruno must love Tyson ffs all the hugging he did.he was just the same in his first fight.both fights and the ref took a point a way for holding.disgrace
Absolutely, i thought Bruno could have done something but he was battered in quick time, Tyson did roll back the years for this one though.
that's no joke that probs 250+ Bruno
Tyson made him look like an amateur wtf
For me Mike Tyson is the worlds best boxer. Look at the highways and avenues around the world it looks like holy week everytime Tyson fights. He is truly crowd drawer.
Best channel of boxing 🥊!! 🥊 🥊
Tommy Morrison was really solid on commentary for this Tyson-Bruno fight did he ever commentate any other fights after this one?
Morrison was a great commentator, i thought that myself, why on earth didn't any of the broadcasting companies snatch him up as his opinions were spot on, certainly for this fight they were.
His health deteriorated
The commentary was Bobby Chyz.
