  • Detroit Lions Linebacker "At Another Level" After Offseason. The Detroit Lions have invested signicant capital into MLB Jack Campbell and it is starting to look like that investment just might pay off in year 2. Campbell was a surprise 1st round pick by the Lions and after a rookie year with moderate success coaches are raving about his improvement heading into year 2.

84 State champions class D. We also played at the Silver Dome. Love your show!

We lost 3 games last year due to inability to tackle running quarterbacks. If we want to win at least 2 of this games this year, we have to tackle these quarterbacks.

That is what I'm interested in no missed tackles you don't have to always go for the strip tackle the guy

I think its just a knowledge/experience thing. He will get better with experience and recognizing plays faster.

My favorite non-Lion player was always Mike Singletary, so I'm all about Captain Jack! Bro lives, breathes and eats football.

I noticed a couple of things:
    - you said that Jack Campbell’s worst deficiency last year was pass coverage.
    - The glowing praise that Kelvin Sheppard gave to Jack Campbell specifically did not mention pass coverage.
Do you know anything, good or bad, about where Jack Campbell is on pass coverage?

Hi Craig, I enjoy looking at Line Backer news. If Jack Campbell can develop the mental agility and comprehension that Anzo has, wow! Question though, I don't get what the placement of the teams behind you represent. Can you explain?

Love all the hype/talk but need to see it in the games.

LAME Comment. He HAS shown it in GAMES, and he was only a ROOKIE. lighten up, good things to come -

Lamer comment. Campbell was routinely tackling guys well off the ball. You’re probably the same guy who believed Hutchinson was “always doubled” when all it meant was he was being contacted 20 yards down field due to his hustle.
Yet you see the same issues he’s always had.
Campbell needs to meet guys at the LOS or in the hole. Waiting for you to blame the line. Lol.

With reader eating up more space, I expect Jack to be a tackling machine this year. Wouldn't shock me if he gets a 100+ with a handful of picks and fumbles forced

Tackles are absolutely no way to judge a LB. Ernie Sims, Teddy Lehman and Earl Holmes were 100 tackle guys.
It’s where the point of impact is. Watch Jarrad Davis footage. He would make a tackle after being carried 5 yards by a RB.
If Campbell has any value he must wrap up a yard or two beyond the LOS and no further. Any LB in the league can give up 7 yards.
