This week it will be just me again. I have traveled to Peru for work and couldn't help taking you around and eat through the whole trip. I was lucky my colleague, who is a local, joined me and showed me the REAL LIMA.

Bolivian folklore is rich in dances and music with world-wide exponents of sayas, caporales, morenadas, tinkus, diablada, and flamerada. tobas, pujllay and others... Dances and music 100% BOLIVIAN, not Andean, Aymara or Quechua, these expressions were created in the Republican era, so it has nothing to do with the Andean, as Peruvians and PERU folkloric groups want to show. they make a fusion between andean and chicha to compose a caporal, morenada, or diablada they play anything but caporal or morenada and the dancers dance perreo or reggaeton. The video was good. Bernardo O'Higgins did not liberate Peru in 1821. He fought for his country Chile, ruled there for a time but was not popular, until he was deposed, and came to Peru. Later sympathizers of O'Higgins, requested that his body be brought to Chile, since he had fought for the independence of that country. General, Jose De San Martin, in 1821, declared the independence of Peru. He is probably the one that you were referring. The wars against Spain continued with other leaders, until the final Battle of Ayacucho in 1824. Yucca is not a potato. It is another versatile, root vegetable that is popular in Peru. Best wishes!

Los bolivianos sabemos que la chacarera es de origen argentino( Santiago de Stereo), por eso NO es patrimonio boliviano, en cambio en Perú se autonombran patrimonio descaradamente danzas bolivianas 🇧🇴

the very best of Peru is outside Lima, cities like Arequipa and Cuzco offer not only better culture and foody options, but they are safe cities since Lima is one of the most dangerous cities in South America due the out of control borders, literally the new comers from Venezuela and Colombia can kill you just to steal a cellphone.
And that I have the impression that they did not take you to the best possible places. It is a myth to say that in any restaurant you eat well, there are bad and good ones like everywhere else.

The food you were served in that "Chifa" is of mediocre quality, particularly the soup. Close to that site there are "chifas" that offer much better quality food at a slightly higher price.
