I think my dog doesn’t trust us. He bites sometimes, he snaps, but he lets us pet him. I searched this video because he was in his favorite spot and i went to lay with him. But he made a distance. And i felt he was scared. He wanted to go to another place. And I don’t know, i really love him and i cried for this. I want him to love us and trust us.

Don't try too hard. It took quite awhile to establish a deep bond with my dog. Respect his needs learn his behavior and let it develop naturally. Earning your dog's trust takes work effort and patience. There is no real speed up to make him love you and force will never work

I’m sure you might have found a solution seeing you commented this three months ago but I just learned that mixing one spoonful of plain Greek yogurt with your dog food not only helps with their digestion but they love it! I was having same problem with my new senior dog who has arthritis in his back hips. He gobbles it up now.

  • @Kate98755

What needs addressing is to the dog that is scared of the owner, uncomfortable with submission. My pup was so bitey, we could barely be around her, nothing worked, some suggestions made her worse. I understand now that she was over reacting, and she’s soft…so about 1.5 yrs old i tried a really quiet method and i saw a change, but she still reverts to biting when she’s over tired or hungry. She’s a herd/working breed combo, I’ve had to give her commands to settle down to sleep,
But now I’m working on desensitizing her to me being right next to her, she lets me but it’s not her preference…I’m working without food because she gets really focused on my hand for the food….
Not sure how long this will take.

My dog got scared at a car show. She was with my husband and sons. I wasn’t with her. (90% of the time I am) A guy was making his car backfire over and over. Everyone saw she was scared and made a huge deal over her. After that she was shaking and refusing to get out of our car in parking lots. She has come a long way but still watches cars drive by like they are out to get her. She runs and hides when my son starts his corvette. When she is in the car and hears louder engines she forces herself into the front seat (she is 70 pounds) That is dangerous on the highway! How do I make her feel safe? I keep hearing “don’t coddle her” “make her tough it out” “don’t feed into it by telling her it is okay to act that way” what do I do? Is it okay to baby her? If she gets scared when we are walking I just shorten her leash and keep walking ad try to get her attention. Idk I don’t want to leave her home.

Thank you, I need so many tips, puppy blues were okay at first but it’s been 4 months and they go on and off...I love my baby tho!! But she has like a weird split personality, I call her other personality “Drex” her name is “Lani” but anyway, I’m starting to notice that we will be chilling ect, but in the afternoon she gets EXTREMELY exited, for no reason and we can’t stop her, walks, treats, ANYTHING but I find all my afternoons crying because of “Drex” he growls when you try to pick him up/ tries to bite (I’m not sure if he’s being playful or not, kinda like he’s being sarcastic, he will like mouth you, when he gets on his belly, and growl a little, then he puts your whole hand in his mouth if you scream, he runs away and tries to find holes in the fence and cries to go in the front, you can’t get any free time with him...he is a no chill and I love when “Lani” is on the furniture but Drex just makes it kinda uncomfortable, because he doesn’t like when you pick him up, or if you put your hand just a little close to him he will growl or try to bite, playfully and “sarcasmish” I feel like the pet when “Drex” comes out and he is only enjoyable when “Lani” comes back out We can’t control him, “Lani” has non of these problems and we want to be around her all the time because she is so enjoyable but I really hate the feeling of afternoon time when I have to open the crate and Drex is waiting for me, I literally have a breakdown right at the spot and he just comes up to me and mouths me, Drex also begs, and I haven’t had lunch in like 4 days....lol What I’m trying to say is Lani is the sweetest thing you could ask for but when she gets excited and when it’s like the middle of the day/afternoon she goes crazy and uncontrollable and I try to train her not to act up during the afternoon time, but I need a trainer because it’s not working, but during Covid-19.......I’ve had to chase Drex many times in the woods, the streets, all to save “Lani” from getting ran over and eaten bye a fox, Lani has non of these behavior problems and does well with other dogs knows lots of obedience commands and goes on walks very well! She waits for me to tell her when to go out and “place” and other tricks and obedience commands and is basically potty trained, but “Drex” doesn’t like being picked up so we have to lure him to the potty before he pees on the floor with treats, he will only do things for a treat and will not get off the couch or furniture and barks whenever he wants, maybe my dog is being possessed or som, but I think it’s just that our routine got changed because of covid, I used to play in the morning, go to work ,come back and then play some more walk for 4 hours then bedtime and she caused no problems in the house, could be left alone while I was working, but now That I’m home and don’t work from home only a few days, she is crazy in the evenings, CRAZY! maybe she’s not use to me being here? Idk but I wish Covid 19 wasn’t a thing and that Drex would go away everyday, of course Drex is “Lani” but I just wish that side of her would go away, and she would be my companion day evening, and night, not just day, and night, I really don’t know what to do at this point....maybe if I get her spayed and when she turns 2 she will be better...I just hope “Drex” goes away....please give me advice, for puppy blues, and training....maybe she needs to go to the vet?....

Hon, if that was true, that providing shelter builds trust, there wouldn't be so many or if control dogs in America. Dogs live happily with homeless people and trust them more than the dog that lives in a mansion, with plenty of food does. It's like Cesar Millan says... Dogs in Mexico are skinny, but they don't have anxiety problems. And those anxiety problems come from too much energy and not enough exercise you, and giving affection at the wrong time... the way you raised humans is completely different from the way you raise dogs. And people forget they don't speak English or any language for that matter. The goal is Trust, respect, love- in that order - and that comes from setting Rules boundaries and limitations. A dog is never going to trust you just because you give them food and a house

She out right ignores me and does the most defiant things. For example we go outside to do potty and she holds herself only to do her business inside. I am at the point where I am starting to think that I made a big mistake with her. I successfully trained many dogs but she tests me to the brink of breakdown. I go to a dark bad place that I shouldn't go to. I'm starting to feel like she hates me but why? Maybe I'm just a useless person.
