some random fatcs about this tunnel, As you can see in this video, the tunnel has long slight turns inside to keep the driver from getting bored/tired, same with the 3 light-rooms inside the tunnel which stimulates daylights, also to keep the driver awake. The tunnel was also very hard to build, as there was originally a building team from another country who said this tunnel would be a piece of cake to build, but later gave up because of the rock types in this mountain............
lmao, the traffic was worth buld longass tunnel like this...
Very interesting, thank you.
What types of rock? Was the difficulty either because of hardness, or fragile rock?
@@darroniverson3373 hard asf
@@mistikei There's a lot less at night. The tunnel normally has about 2000 vehicles per 24 hours. On average, you'd see 14 (oncoming) cars over the time it takes to drive through it
I have also driven in that tunnel. Nice one with the blue lights :-) Looks like a nice trip you are having.
Yes, indeed :)
The blue color is actually a geothermal power source to power the Stargate. They cleverly hid it in a car tunnel. A section of the wall opens up with a special code and you drive down a side tunnel 300 yards until you get to Stargate Command.
hey, thats a secret!!!
I knew it.......
After i seen this video i feel me like i drive through the tunnel my myself. Fantastic video, thank you for recording and share with us.
Thank you for the music I needed all my life
This is a great work, congratulations, Norge.
Wow! Thanks for showing us this video.
Amazing, but nothing for people with claustrophobia
Greetings from a German trucker
Wir sind den Tunnel im September 2019 gefahren, traumhaft, die blauen Inseln erwecken aus der Monotonie der Fahrt.
Cool video, a new 29km long tunnel is almost finished in Sydney Australia. Which should be awesome.
Great tunnel! And so few cars!
Yes, I drove it at a time when there were few cars.
Here in Brazil our longest tunnel is just eight times, smaller than this tunnel.
My congratulations to the Norwegian people.
@@daltonagronomo1652 agora temos o da rodovia dos tamoios com 5.5 km
Ich hab den Tunnel im Juni 2022 mit dem Motorrad durchfahren; war ein tolles Erlebnis. Dank an meinen Guide Stefan.
We had the same experience when we drove around Europe and we passed the 25 km tunnel in Austria and mygod its crazy long. Kudos to my husband who know how to handle long tunnel driving
What kind of a tunnel is 25km in Austria? To my knowledge, the longest road tunnel is in Norway at 24.5km. Next is 21.8km in Australia. The one in Austria is 13.9km and not 25km.
Many years ago I actually drove through the first part of this tunnel near Sognefjorden. 11 km was made as first and it was filled with what seems to be smoke and I was hardly able to see the rescue-post, and its lights, till a few hundred meters before I passed! The rough walls took much of the cars light and it had no light inside, except by the rescue-posts!
Wow, cool! Liked the blue lights!
Agreed :D
very long and entrancing tunnel aside, the music choice is very calm and cozy sounding. id love to have a link to a playlist if you read this.
Not sure it'd be a good idea playing trippy music while driving through a trippy tunnel!
awesome...thanks for that
I went through this a couple weeks ago! Crazy!
Cool music! (cool tunnel too! love the lights)
Thank you :)

Truth! I never had heard of this group and now bought several songs off the album!!
Nice music !
Money shots:

Also 0:20 and 18:24 are bright yellow, if you're into that.
WHAT ARE THOSE PLACES FOR? CAN YOU STOP AT THERE?

Så fin film
kickass music, thank you so much for this video
I am lucky to expirience to see and pass to these road tunnel, joining my ship subsea 7 seven oceans.philippine can't afford to build that kind of masterpiece
8:20 the first car met!
KC channel pretty much halfway through...he wasn't passing another car...but himself *cue twilight zone music*
It is after midnight.
Here in Brazil, our longest road tunnel is about 3 Km or almost two miles long.
i just spent 18 minutes watching a car drive thru a tunnel with some cool music
That first area with lights is cool
Hardly the best music...might fall asleep listening that
I drove through there in May 2015.... we have nothing like that in Canada. It took forever to drive through...
Admit that for 1 moment you thought you'd never get out of it 😁
@@PilotJohnSilver I did several times, lol.
@@PilotJohnSilver I entered the tunnel 2 years ago - and I'm still here. Plz send help - or a map!
@@swedishpsychopath8795 I'm very sorry to hear that, but maybe you've entered a different dimension? 😜😄
@@PilotJohnSilver Different dimension? Maybe so. There are aliens here too but they don't seem to look for the exit. They keep a lot of people with them. I saw Elvis the other day. Anyways - I hope to come out one day. Hope the world is doing fine and is prosperous and healthy and world peace finally has come?
So relaxing to watch before I sleep.
Imagine if you were driving through the tunnel, and then suddenly there was a power cut.
The cars has something called "headlights".
amazing))
We have a new 31km tunnel that just opened in Sydney, Australia
Great trance inducing film, thanks !
So here's my setting :
- Speed x2.5 with addon "Enhancer for CZcams" or equivalent
- "High Energy Protons" or some other song by Juno Reactor
- except for the blue rooms : speed down to x0.5, with bits from "Little Fluffy Clouds" by The Orb
The music is something....
excelente!!!
we have a tunnel of 6km it maked me crazy.what about tunnel of 24 km.
Nice tunnel, i love the LED lights. Do you need to pay "toll"when using this tunnel?
No toll here.
You must feel like a free man when you get out of there
Laerdalstunnel 24,5 Km COOOOOOOOL!!!
Claustrophobic people might not enjoy this trip
Skikkelig laaaaaaaaaaaaang tunell!😀😀😀😀😀
When I’m on vacation, and have to drive through a tunnel, me and my travelcompanions always play a game: who can hold their breath when we drive through the tunnel… probably gonna skip this one, though… LOL 🤣
What an amazing tunnel! I can see there being a danger of becoming entranced and falling asleep, though!
the blue / green lighted areas are for ppl to stop up and take a nap/look around or just to make sure they dont fall asleap while driving
The distance between the with lights in roof are also made such that you dont fall asleep so easy.
Nice triphop
Nice music
Wow! This video is good for people who have trouble sleeping like me lol
Same here
And those light rooms makevit worse as if you are digging deeper in the mountain
Love the video. Great choice of music. How much is toll? Thanks
As far as I remember we didn't pay any toll there.
But anyways. Don't take the tunnel as a tourist.
The old road above it is awesome!
And if you take the road you will even come along here: www.gaelarnaud.com/sliders/slider6/31_Norway!Stegastein.jpg (one of the most famous "bridges" on earth with a stunning view on Aurlandsfjorden)
You are right Markus. There is no toll.
What are you travelling through, a mountain or lake or some piece of water ?
The music is amazing. What were you listening to? Reminds me of DJ Vadim from 20 years ago!
Wow. That music was GREAT. I guess you should play this during live streaming when passing nice landscapes. The music reminds me of Massive Attack.
That was trippy. How do you know you actually came out the other side and not on the same side as you entered?
Please provide the geolocation data for this massive black hole.

(No cruise missiles please. :) )
I love how the blue sections ar literally rest stops, with trash bins and everything
about 4:00 , that purple and green part of the tunnel is nice, i must say . but if there are no toilets there i bet it smells bad
Why would they smell bad? o.O
You have good taste in music cool video :)
Is there any speed monitoring cameras in the tunnel?
Thank you :) Yes, there are at least one speed camera sets in each direction, measuring average speed (max 80 km/h or 50 mph).
Bjørn Nyland Obviously there's an average speed restriction in place.
I don't know if I could stomach this tunnel. I would definately have to take breaks in the artfully lit areas at the very least.
I did the Gothard tunnel once. This was after the infamous fire in there and all today's restrictions were in place (speed restriction/minimum distance between vehicles). I was never more tempted to at least double my speed in my life (I was driving the company BMW 525 at the time, which could almost do 3x the maximum speed of 70km/h). I don't consider myself claustrofobic, but I was fed up with this tunnel even before I got half way through. In fact, coming back I made a 190km detour to take a train tunnel through the Alps, just to save me from having to drive through them myself.
Jan Verschueren yeah I was just wondering about the cameras as it was me that enquired as I was intrigued by the thought of if they are consistent or just one at each end as you could take a rest stop and then just floor it through I couldn't spot any so I can only guess that there must be a camera between each rest area to avoid that happening.
+Jan Verschueren agree, i hate tunnels feels like i'm trapped. All the what ifs in my head. And also to burn to death inside is not tempting at all...
@@szili76 I'd be thinking, what if there was a cave-in .. an earthquake and you got stuck in there if not killed. 😳 I don't mind short tunnels but this would be difficult to take.
It's awesome though.
The music sounds better at 1.5x
1 Car in 4,5625 minutes from the oncoming traffic at its own speed of 80 km/h by night!
I remember our car breaking down in this tunnel like 11km in, scary. fucking. shit.
I felt anxious just reading that
Isn't there meant to be a roundabout somewhere to Bergen ?
25km? Lmao im tired after 100meter
9:28 why there are some place with different colour of lights in the tunnel? is it pertrol station or what?
2 cars in 24 km, WOW.
I d really wish to know, name of the track playing at 7:25
Great music!
Great tunnel ofc :-)
How strange not a single car passed in the entire 20 minutes
I wonder if the ventilation is good enough to ride your bicycle through ?
It's illegal to ride bicycle and mopeds there
Its not. czcams.com/video/tllb_nWAF3k/video.html
Walk and bicycle is not allowed. Moped and motorcycle is allowed.
i guess the no tolls is to account for the incoming speeding tickets.
This thing is huge! I entered the tunnel 2 years ago - and I'm still here. Plz send help - or a map! If Mcdalonds still exists plz send 4 cheeseburgers as well.
would be an excellent fallout shelter as long as you could collapse about 100 to 300 feet on each end and the air is filtered against radiation. you could easily get 100,000 people in there.
There's not really that much radioactive fallout from nuclear bombs anymore, so unless the bombs were detonated right at one of the exits of the tunnel, you'd likely be safe inside it.
How long did it take for the tunnel to be built?
5 years.
@@brendasantoro4971 wow I thought it would take over a decade
I guess the Scandinavians built this for the times they missed 6 month long nights
tunnel boys!
So there's no intersections connecting the intermediate spots? It reaches one location?
It's all one long tunnel the 3 blue caves are to rest if you get fatigued
cell phone service in the tunnelen ??
Im in that tunnel rigth now
100% driving through this tunnel whenever I can take a drive through Europe
niiiiiiice...............
SPONGE BOB SQUARE PANTS WHAT A TUNNEL
tek tüp olarak baktığın zaman ovit in 3 katından fazla
Not a single burger joint in the whole run. Give that a miss.
I hope to go there 1day but it’s is 8hrs drive from where i live that’s gonna be a problem lol
Here in Brazil, our longest tunnel is just 3 Km long.
Increible!!Soundtrack????
i was there its awsome
around the 4:00 mark and ten or more minutes of the video : Subliminal Hypnosis Alert ! turn your speed of video down to .25 . to the left you will see what appears merely as part of the car interior is a message . After many mathematical , physics , psychoanalytic computations here is what you don't know you this video has put into your subconscious : VISIT NORWAY OR YOU WILL COME TO A TRAGIC END SOON . brought to you by the Norway Travel Department......
Wow. That music was GREAT. I guess you should play this during live streaming when passing nice landscapes.
Just think... this is slightly longer then the Half-Marathon 21.1km!
are there speed cameras?
Certainly, and they measure the average speed. Dont even think about speeding.
Of course, you can speed as much as you want as long as you take a long enough break at the blue caves.
Plenty, but if you have a nice exhaust note, you might at least enjoy some noise
Car or Evo magazine took a 430 Spider to this tunnel when it was new just to hammer it through and hear that 'zorst. If they got away with it...
Fun fact: they shredded a tyre on some forsaken road in some valley fjord somewhere and Fezza put two guys on a flight with a spare & a laptop to go out there & change it for them. Traveling all day just to spend 15 minutes there
I would like to drive a supercar in there at top speed...
I honestly believe that for cities, wide tunnels, with smooth "frictionless" surfaces, on descending gradients......maybe with the air sucked out at one end......could provide fast, convenient transport for commuters permanently.........
Gravity is power if harnessed.
No reliance on oil. No emissions.
The gradients could even charge electric scooter /bicycle batteries by regenerative braking.
Imagine the London tube, except with no trains and bicycles/electric scooters on a gradient to avoid pedalling.....
Gravity is free power.
Reduce friction by wind..by surface...
and that is free energy.....
Like a ball bearing on glass.
The critical angle is the descent gradient of the slope.
5 degrees may work.
At either end could be large fast lifts, limiting emissions to one area which can be captured.
Such a network of descent tunnels would create a free, non polluting, transport infrastructure that could become a tourist attraction.......
Been there... Still drinking...
Watching the vid at x2 Speed and with my favorite techno track.... yeah, that's it!
If you've ever driven with Halvor you'd get to the other side and kiss the ground. Hmmm-AH!
Tunnelen er så laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang!
길어도 너무 길잖아 너무지루해서 2배속으로 봐어 속터져 중말 미쳤나봐아아아아아아아아앜
i Nice tunnel..BUT the way over the mountain i way nicer and i recomend that instead of the tunnel:)
Claustrophobic here couldn't stand a minute in there it's my worst nightmare. And what about emergency exits??
Maybe a Starbucks inside for you honey😂
