- Vintage - Palitoy Pocketeers - Tomy Pocket Games - Part 3 - The Final Games!
In this video we take our third detailed look at the amazing Palitoy Pocketeers, released in the USA as Tomy Pocket Games. We look at the third batch of games released in 1978 followed by the games that were released in 1979/1980 which include the very last Palitoy Pocketeers ever made!
These fill me with nostalgia and I think they are truly wonderful and hark back to a time before videogames and even Star Wars toys!
Hope you enjoy it and look for Part 4, in about a months time.

Thats cool to know Mr Jules, that you literally have representation of something that happened and now not even made! Love the education I get with the Pocket Gaming videos you make! 👍🏼
Excellent Danny, that's what it's all about. Entertainment and education🙂
I’ve got a version of the horse derby model and I find it quite fun. Now of course I am scouring the internet to find moonshot. That thing is absolutely wonderful!
Ah yes, Moonshot is super cool, good luck!🙂
Fond memories of Pile Up.
An absolute classic 🙂
These were great, didn't see a lot of them in new zealand. Such simple games but so cool !!
love the look of big hit..Gee you have some great things, Would have loved to visit your shop back in the day. thanks will..n.z
Thanks Will. I reckon N.Z. probably had some, maybe released by TolToys but that's just a guess. Big Hit is a cool one but not one of my favourites. We have some video of the shop coming which I'm looking forward to seeing 👍🙂
@@JulesBurt I cant remember, toltoys or could have been milton bradley another company down here gave us a lot of games back in the day.
Cool i look forward to watching that, i did see some footage of your shop in one of your videos.looked alsum will..n.z
Cool. I only suggest Toltoys as the Palitoy Star Wars stuff got released under that brand in Oz and NZ.
Yes! I’ve finally figured out what game configuration of an obscure piece I have. It is Gobble but is labeled “Clams Casino” and features a red background and white fellow in the middle of the board. Wow! So glad to finally figure it out. Have no idea where it comes from though. Cheers!
I know what you mean, they re-used the designs loads of times on some games👍🙂
Brilliant collection, so jealous.
Thanks! Quite attainable with patience and a little luck.
@@JulesBurt I have managed to collect 4 from charity shops in the last couple of years.
That's cool, always nice to find them in the wild🙂 At a good price as well?
@@JulesBurt yes just a few pence, i don't think they knew what they were tbh:)
Most people don't really know. You did well. Did it include the classic, Steeplechase?
Thanks. What a great collection...and minted... The only ones i have seen are ' no good ' having been played to ruin...But in a predigital age they were fun..You mention carded ones... are those eaiser to find...Thanks and bye for now.. 👍
Thanks Sylvan, I think the mint on card versions are even scarcer. They'll be coning next month🙂
Fantastic video as always, Jules!
Thanks Matthew. I have another big SF books mother lode due pretty soon. I'll let you know when it arrives🙂👍
@@JulesBurt Awesome! I finally have more book space again. So I've been on the hunt again for DAW and Ace Books. 😀
Nice, let me know if you come across any Phillip K. Dick DAW editions. I will be officially jealous of you🙂
@@JulesBurt Will do!
👍
That Cricket game reminds me of the classic online game, Little Master Cricket by Bennet Foddy. I wonder if he was inspired by this pocketeer? I believe it's only available through Flashpoint these days, unless Foddy's made a HTML5 version of it.
Nice, you never know. It's a simple, but classic game.🙂
I had one like pile up, but it was called grand prix in the states
I'm pretty sure I have that one to come Chris🙂👍
Cool
These certainly are🙂
I was wondering, because you like ball bearing pocketeers, have you ever played any of the 3 screwball scramble games, they are good fun.
For sure🙂
I have Tremors but it has Steeplechase instructions on the back. Super strange. Looks like the legit original sticker too
It might be a super rare variant🙂
So fun to see all the different odd variations there are for these things out there. So much fun to collect! 😁
Absolutely!
I guess you know I’ll be back here to share what I’ve found 😁 Thank you so much for sharing your amazing collection
No problem, these are great fun to collect 🙂
I just got the space invaders game but unfortunately the scoring mechanism doesn't work so I look to see how many times I hit the ufo,you haven't much time though!
Awesome, I think Space Invaders is a tough one tbh!
Unfortunately just now the timing mechanism has broke, wasn't that keen anyway but I still have time machine which I like
I just wanted to ask you if I bought splashdown and the piece of plastic was missing will the game still be usable to play
It depends what's missing. Personally, I'd avoid any incomplete games, nice ones are out there of all of these👍
I just recently purchased gobble, very tricky game, sometimes the mouth doesn't always open fully,I think the most balls I got in was 2,was this your experience?
That's a great looking Pocketeer. No idea what my best score is though 🤣
