If you looked at the Southwind 23L from above, you would see a pontoon boat with the roomy layout the genre is known for. But peer at it from below, and you will see it features a fiberglass mono hull. Southwind’s Hybrid Series is improved this year, with upholstery that is more plush and features nanoblock technology for better UV protection. Up front, a picklefork bow section gives guests a place to board and has a concealed ladder for beach boarding. In the cockpit, the deck is gelcoated fiberglass with a nonskid surface that’s easy to clean. Twin couches up front provide plenty of seating, and a pop-up changing station set into the end of the one on the starboard side is equipped with a Porta Potti. An entertainment center behind the driver has a sink with a spigot fed by a six-gallon tank. Flip over the sink cover, and you have a cutting board and plenty of working surface.
