Thank you for the tutorial. I only have a problem where my character sort of moonwalks diagonally whenever I'm pressing keys like W+D but everything else works.
For me the fingers was acting weird. Issue was the "auto chain mapping Fuzzy" was setting the fingers as metacarpals. So I choose "auto chain mapping Exact" and it was fixed.
i cant find this retarget animation assets & duplicate and retarget etc this option i cant see it all i can see is retarget animation thats all is there a plugin i need to switch on or what ? Thank you

Hi, thanks for such a great tutorial! but still I have some issue. even after setting the translation mode to "globally scaled" the exported animation is not positioned properly, it's still moving forward! can you please help me with it!

I have one question - I'm trying to change the skeleton of a character bought from the marketplace to my own base skeleton that I'm using for all characters. How can this be done? I tried the "Assign skeleton" option, but it fails if both skeletons aren't exactly the same, and I don't want to add new bones to my base skeleton. Thank you very much!
Not sure you can change the skeleton without skinning it an external app or perhaps you can play around with the experimental skeletal editor plugin. Convert the mesh to static mesh then convert it again to a skeletal mesh and assign the skeleton, I'm not familiar with that plugin yet but you can weight paint the bone to the mesh. You can give that a try.

Yep, I have a followup tutorial on that. It would involve having ik foot bones and retargeting those as well.

Is there a way to go the other way around? Taking a custom rig and retarget to Mannequin/Metahuman?
Yep, you can swap the target and source. Also UE 5.4 preview now comes with auto rigging tool. I’ll do a new tutorial on that soon.
