But it solve nothing instability will continue, army is probably already planning new coup and if Imran Khan become too big nuisance he will most likely vanish one day. This is example that not every country and society is ready for democracy for millennia's they were living under tight control of faith and sultan or shah or however ruler is called there. But worst part is there is it probably never get better now when army is in command any change will be impossible and any rule instable also there not one country on the world where takeover by army improved anything ever its just like perpetual state of failed dictatorship nothing is done nothing can be done and meanwhile country is slowly rotting away.

One thing that can't be said enough but you just said it in passing is that Pakistani military's popularity is waning. In fact it's not just waning but it's at unprecedentedly low levels. Removing khan from power was one thing, but the previous army chief's corruption which was uncovered by Fact Focus (a pakistani investigative journalist group) didn't quite help either, it turns out he had amassed billions in his family's name. The public is sick of their constant meddling in politics and wants them to finally just retreat to their barracks.

    • @zarakkhan9625
      @zarakkhan9625 Před 4 měsíci +1

@@NimbleBard48 Rigging elections in Pakistan is a science itself. There are a few ways to rig elections. First, you manipulate the census to deprive certain regions of seats that may benefit their opponents. Second, you gerrymander constituencies. Third, you 'discourage' opponents from contesting elections by opening cases, bribing, threatening or disqualifying them on a mere technicality. Fourth, you deprive a party from having their electoral symbol. Lastly, if none of the above is enough, you can rig the election by ballot stuffing or manipulate vote tallies.
As we can clearly see, despite extreme rigging, PTI managed to clean sweep KP and parts of Punjab. They would've won more seats in Punjab and Sindh if it wasn't rigged.
As far as vote counting is concerned, it won't change the result that much and is actually also part of a rigging process especially in Balochistan to deprive ethnic nationalists of seats in both provincial assembly and parliament.
Army will still keep a stranglehold on Pakistani politics because the previous coalition has now agreed on forming the government. So unless the coalition realise the virtue of civil supremacy and political stability, things will remain the same.

They didnt. The 95 seats Imran Khans PTI won are way less, by midnight, PTI was leading on 154 seats, then the election commission system went down and suddenly PTI had lost on seats where it was winning by huge margins.
For instance, on a seat PTI backed candidate has received over 130k votes and his rival had just received 82k votes for 99% result(253/258 polling stations: only result from 5 polling station was not yet announced). In the result published by the election commission, PTI candidate got 101k votes and his rival won with 118k votes. It stunned everyone.
Also side note: The person who won, Khwaja Asif, admitted on TV that he called GHQ(millitaary headquarters) in 2018 elections when he was losing the elections. Looks like he dialed GHQ again this time as well.
In NA130, where the leader of PMLN, Nawaz Sharif won, he was trailing by 30k votes, the next day the RO(returning officer, the person who declares the result) was transferred and a new RO was appointed.
In Shangla, PMLN Amir Maqam was declared winner by Election commission, but on recounting PTI candidate won. PTI candidate had 88k votes, while Amir Maqam had only received 37k votes. You can see the pattern here.

Is it really fair to say Sharif "inherited" economic problems from Khan without noting the ones Khan inherited from Abbasi? because he was fully forced into a bailout by a twin debt/balance of payment crisis. You do mention general economic mismanagement and the feedback loop by which it plays into military coups and political instability, but by focusing on stuff like the timing of Khan's narrative and the social reaction to PML govt crackdowns while failing to address the wider, pre-existing distrust towards politics that saw the rise of Khan in the first place, you are making Pakistani voters sound like imbeciles that do not understand their own political reality.

Most people blame it as the primary cause for economic and political instability as well as the cause of our debt cycle and not without reason. The assertion that they receive 20% of our revenue is just based on an official figure, in reality everyone in the country knows they eat up well over 50%, easy. Pak army doesn’t give autonomy to any government. How can you rule positively if your hands are tied. The only way to fix our economy is to wrestle control and influence from the burden and drain that is the army but anyone who attempts to do what’s right for the nation is rejected by default. 🤔🙄

There are many failed states in the world (that turn into countries that exist beyond their means) the problem is when you have one that is so populated and that wants to keeps its nuclear arsenal (that is very expensive to produce and to maintain).

You missed the American pressure on Pakistan's Army to oust Imran Khan that was revealed by the cipher text published by the Intercept. That was the main reason for Khan's ouster.

Yeah, there was American pressure to handover Laden or end Talibani support in Pakistan. Pakistan didn't do shit. The truth is your army does what it likes. It depends on their interests. You want excuses for their behaviours.

Bro, respectfully speaking, we don’t want or need anything to do with 🇵🇰. The main problem is that 🇵🇰’s ultimate goal is just “fuck 🇮🇳 ”, and 🇵🇰 will go to any length to fuck over 🇮🇳, regardless of whatever the consequences of those actions may be. 🇺🇸 on the other hand, does not share 🇵🇰’s view on 🇮🇳. And this has led to works of American-Pakistani cooperation resulting in abject failure, whether it be SEATO, or 🇺🇸 intervention into 🇦🇫 (which 🇵🇰 worked to undermine at literally every step because they were afraid that 🇦🇫 would become a puppet of 🇮🇳). And at this point, 🇵🇰 has firmly sided with 🇨🇳 on the international stage; the only reason why 🇺🇸 is still paying even a bit of attention to 🇵🇰 is because you fucks can’t properly store/transport your ☢️. We honestly don’t trust you guys to keep the secured, and at this rate, we wouldn’t be super surprised if you guys managed to “loose” a few ☢️. We want nothing to do with you or the rest of the Middle East at this point. Enough is enough.

But if it makes you feel important, then sure. 🇺🇸 definitely has the time, 💵, and energy to back the toppling of one Anti 🇺🇸 political faction in favor of yet another anti 🇺🇸 political faction. It’s not as if we have more important matters, both at home and abroad, than the internal affairs of our “friend” 🇵🇰. What a fucking joke.

    The joke here is that
Mismanagement of finances by civilian govt is not just due to corruption but also due to lack of funds..
A huge chunk of the budget goes to the Army. But it’s not all lovely there either cause there’s corruption in the army too…so money ends up in the hands of select few civilian and military leaders…
The army justifies taking this amount because they feel without them Pakistan will be attacked on all sides.. but the reality is that
    1) Iran cannot support Baluchistani independence for long or they’ll face secession in their own land.
    2) Afghanistan might have sympathisers in the KP province but the greater Pashtunistan idea is still not a big deal among KP residents so Afghanistan will face a losing battle without civilian support, that too when they’re shunned mostly by the UN.
    3) India will gladly take AJK and Gilgit but won’t move beyond that (because who wants to immediately take up 250 million people who have been brought up hating you?)
So the Pakistani “need” for a military is atleast 50% a farce used by the Army to keep control
But it also looks like the people might finally be turning against them. It’s a joke that Imran khan was supported by the army against Sharif and now the roles are reversed..
