The first time I heard that my blood boiled, honestly it boils anytime I think about that. Y’all had a couch I assume, there is no reason your BOYFRIEND should be allowed in bed with your child, or even in her room alone while you’re knocked out on sleeping medication, so you got a good nights sleep and weren’t bothered. If I remember correctly those meds made her sleep hard, so how exactly would you have been bothered? Why couldn’t she sleep with you and he sleep elsewhere? Jen has to make it make sense because the jig was up when you let it be known what you were allowing for your own benefit with zero regard for what may have been happening to her or didn’t want to believe something was happening at all, when it was happening for years and this man documented it but did nothing about it.

Until we heard that Jenn had been allowing Maddie to sleep with Stephan, i gave her the benefit of doubt..
I had no idea that my girls father had been SAing them until about 3 yrs after i divorced him. I took our then 7 yr old daughter to therapy for behavior issues..the psychologist told me that my daughters behavior suggested SA!..I couldnt believe it since only family members (all females) babysat them except for their father..
That night i asked my daughter if anyone touched her privates or made her touch their privates..she immediately spoke up and said, "yes, Daddy"..
I was shocked and even though i didnt initially believe it, I immediately called police to report it..
Through therapy I learned it had been ongoing during his court ordered weekend visitations..
I was beside myself..i did blame myself for not knowing while we were still married and living together.
What i learned from my then 7 yr old, it may have begun when she was 4 and her babysister was one yr old!..
I too had therapy because i couldn't forgive myself for not knowing the signs and seeing them until she was 7!..sickening!..
It took me yrs to forgive myself. I never have forgiven him..

You’re so brave for sharing that, especially in this case. It offers a different perspective while everyone Is ridiculing the mom, basically on the outside looking in. I don’t think people realize that naivety isn’t based on age, but on experience and/or trauma. You aren’t the first, and, unfortunately you won’t be the last. It isn’t your fault for not knowing how evil people operate. The people who do things like this are labeled predators for a reason - they can manipulate an adult just as easy as a child. They sniff out weakness, and no matter how strong you are, they will find it. You can’t blame yourself for someone else’s actions, but you’re taking the steps to accept it and face it - that is more courageous than doing nothing. Please try to give yourself grace and forgive yourself - you and your children deserve it. 💗

I gave Jen the benefit of the doubt UNTIL she said she allowed and encouraged Maddie to sleep with him ALONE!! My son is 9 and if there are any strangers or non relatives in the home, I will sleep in the bed with him myself to be safe. I don’t trust anyone with my baby but myself, my parents and his father. And even then, I’m in high alert. That’s my child and as parents, it’s our responsibility to keep our babies safe. To just allow a “sometimes boyfriend” to sleep alone with her?!?! Is absolutely weird and unusual. I don’t believe her, and think she knew and allowed it to keep SS around, at the very least.

The fact that mom actively told them to sleep together is probably a big contributor to Maddie’s silence about the SA. It wasn’t til she turned 13 that she probably decided to stand up to Stephan and he killed her for it.

As the breakdown of the family unit becomes more and more "the norm," mothers need to be aware of the realities of inviting men into their homes... and take responsibility when doing so. When my marriage broke down due to dv, I made the choice to raise my children on my own... wagering that they were better off without dad at home, given the circumstance. Upon doing so, I also made the commitment to my children first, until they become independent adults. I know some blended families work very well, but for me personally, I'm not willing to take the risk at the expense of my kids. I made the decision to become a mom... the best years of my life and a short time in retrospect. My children deserve all of me. That's just how I feel about it. 🙏❤️🌹 RIP Sweet Maddie. YOU deserved better.

She paid herself a good lawyer from the gofund money meant for the funeral. The lawyer advised her to check in at a mental institution, which meant she can not be questioned or arrested the time she is there, that’s why she has not been arrested
Her checking into a mental institution is nothing more than an internet rumor and hasn’t been confirmed yet. In fact, I’ve heard from credible sources that the rumor is false and she’s holed up in her house/apt.

i don’t know about that. but i do kno that if true, law enforcement definitely would stand guard at her door to ensure she doesn’t attempt to escape and she would be arrested as soon as mental health professionals deemed her not a threat to herself or others & appropriate for discharge. maybe she had a mental breakdown because she was finally able to see that she played a HUGE part in her daughter’s lifetime of SA & in her death! nothing will bring that sweet girl back- but neither Jenn nor stephen deserve another breath of air! that woman knew! she had to know! she let Madeline down her whole life!

You don’t pimp your daughter out for him to stay on the property. He definitely won’t get out of prison. He could get the DP on the evidence alone. They want to get squeaky clean evidence to charge the mom with redrum . Time will tell.

Something eerie that has bothered me from the beginning, which it’s all bothered me, but with how much Madeline looks like her mother if that sadly could’ve been a sick factor in why he preyed on her and for so long, alongside with his disturbing predilection for children as exhibited in this case already. Madeline deserved so much better than this and she was failed to be protected. It just absolutely sick, Madeline deserves justice, her father and family deserve answers, and if it involves more than just Sterns justice will not be served until those involved are prosecuted. Preferably to the absolute fullest extent of the law.
Duty Ron had oblivious Benson on his channel who found a ton about Stephan and his life going back to highschool. He had roommates who found loads of CSAM photos of child abuse and SA. He was in his 20s dating a teen and no one said anything. His mom paid off the roommates to not turn him in. It's horrible. Everyone knew he was a pedo predator going back 20 years and no one did a thing.
The reasons why criminals in the U S. Act like they're a victim is because of the leniency of the justice system. In Egypt, for example, guys like Stephan would get the DP, and other lesser offenses i.e., burglary, would get you life (information directly from someone who's lived many years in Egypt). Smh

sterns got rejected that night, killed her, Jen gets home, he puts Jen down w pills, at night he had to put the body in his car. in the morning he drove around crazy trying to cover it up, jens still asleep, the rest is on videos what he did before and how he dumped her
I wonder if he was drugging Madeline to keep her complicit and maybe overdosed her? I guess we'll find out if it goes to trial, but until then it sounds like autopsy findings are sealed to protect the minor victim's privacy.

We're all shocked and appalled, but this case really illustrates the reality of child sex trafficking. People seem to think kids are being abducted by strangers and sold into pedophile rings, but the reality is perhaps more disturbing. Parents and guardians are pimping out their own children for selfish reasons (often drug money). It's the people closest to the child, and the ones who should be protecting them, that are putting them in these situations to be abused. I just had this conversation with my mother regarding a child who was trafficked in a little rural town near where they live. The mother sold her daughter to a male friend (possibly boyfriend?) for sex, but thankfully she was able to escape and run to a neighbor's for help.
I haven’t seen or heard if his car was parked in a garage or was it in an open parking space? I want to know how he got her body into the car without being seen.
In my opinion, he moved her early in the morning before light. One of law enforcement presses said that she was moved in the early hours too, if I'm not mistaken. I also think after he "drove her to school" surveillance saw her in the car @ 8:10, "sleeping", but really deceased. Then she was seen on surveillance (approx 8:19) entering the apt complex, he "came back for his clicker". He probably took that opportunity to cover her and then drove around on "his errands and to the smoke shop " to create an alibi. All speculation of course. I don't know how else he would've got her out otherwise.

Then again, we don’t know how much the police truly have. I’m sure there’s a lot they have to keep secret while they continue their investigations. I guess we’re all in the wait and see what comes out next mode.

Proof once again that children are not a priority in this country. On on hand we watch parents be charged and imprisoned because their son committed mass murder. They were considered responsible for placing the child in atmosphere that contributed to his ability to access weapons. They were considered responsible because they did not recognize warning signs of mental and emotional distress. HOW can this mother not be viewed the same way???? She placed her child in a dangerous situation. She failed to recognize emotional issues and distress. She failed to recognize signs of abuse. Very aggressive, chronic abuse. I’m in Florida. Yes capital offenses on children can result in death. It was signed last year. Not sure why you would say that’s cruel and unusual. Why should the monster not be put to death when he took that child’s life? He robbed her of her innocence, happiness, and ultimately her life here on earth. This poor baby had such a terrible short life. I suspect this child never had a good life even before this monster came into her life. Pictures are deceiving when you look at her baby pics. Before the mom met the monster, she was addicted to drugs and had world of mental issues.

Jenn Soto says in body cam footage that Maddie had on black shorts (right after Stearns says pants). So even if she claims she never said she saw her at 8am... and only heard voices in the kitchen, then why did she "correct" Stearns to say Maddie was wearing black shorts, not pants. She was eithwr lying during the investigation for her missing child about black shorts or she was lying about having heard and not seen Maddie.

I don’t think the comment/message talking about moving to the woods came from Maddie. I think Sterns is behind that message and just further proves premeditation. It was an attempt to deflect future attention away from him and cast Maddie as a potential runaway.

According to Sterns Jennifer gave permission for he and Madeline to sleep separately. Key point - Sterns says so. He could easily have been sedating Jennifer, and Madeline too for that matter. Until Jennifer confirms this I'll give her the benefit of the doubt.

The mother needs to be charged with neglect absolute minimum. She has clearly lied she saw her daughter getting ready for school when we know this is a lie. Both of them need to be locked up for what happened to this precious, innocent child

Stephan has been around since Maddie was 5. If he's been in bed with them the entire time Jen might not have seen it as a huge red flag as if he had come into her life recently
@@Twebb349 I don’t know how a woman would allow any man to sleep with their child. She was 13. I let my daughter’s bio dad sleep with my daughter when she was little but now that she’s a preteen he refuses. Kids are vulnerable and they need to be protected.

I am waiting for the announcement. I'm hoping the LE is doing its job and she will be charged. As a CSA survivor my mum's heart broke when I disclosed to her as a young adult. She was devastated that she didn't protect me, she couldn't have known. The man who assaulted me was a serial offender and was eventually charged and convicted of CSA. By then I was living far far away in another country and healing. I'm glad his victims including me got justice, even though I wasn't part of the legal process.

No, he was a neighbour, and he had his own children daughters, who I think he didn't abuse because they were his character witnesses. I didn't speak up because when it occurred, I was very young it went on for 5 years. I didn't have the language, I didn't know what to say. When I was a child, the topic of CSA was taboo. It took me a long time to process what happened and to talk about it. I was in my 20s when I disclosed for the very first time.

My perp was a priest - a beloved member of the community just as perhaps Sterns was to Jenn . Most children don't say anything for fear of either losing a parent/s or disruption of the family unit or/and blame themselves . Hence , perhaps this is why Maddie wanted to live in the forest . Being a survivor yourself , I would think you would have more understanding /insight more than these people baying for Jenn's b lood who haven't experienced the trauma . Both Maddie and Jenn were targeted and groomed by a perp - easy done esp when the bio father lives away and the mother a single mother .. Our son was 2 when his Dad & I got married. He slept with us only because it was a new place. As his Dad & I rented a 2 bedroom apartment, it was his first time being away my parents home where we lived and we’d see & stay with his Dad and his parents. So this a new thing. It took a lot of patience to get our son to sleep in his big boy bed. That’s one thing, but letting your child sleep with her boyfriend?
