Yeah, I can't say I've played Chivalry in a while either. Part of that's Elden Ring, a bigger part of that is it's a hard game to reccomend to my friends. But it's still gold.
Trying to get my friends into it, had a 50% win rate they either love it and want to play more or don’t even want to try to learn how to fight. Having custom servers (on Xbox) will help this problem massively
honestly to me thirdperson is more immersive anyway because you get information that you should have about how your body is positioned like how in a dream sometimes your other senses can be converted into an actual 3rd/2nd person perspective since normally thats just in your head but when you're in a dream its both in your head
I think you just sold me on trying a few matches in 3rd person, I never realized how much of a gimp first person only is till you switched from 3rd to first and 50% of the visual data disappeared.
Thats the thing. I used to play specifically in First Person only and you can absolutely play well, but lets think about it a bit more carefully. While I could get a score like, say, 80 kills and 6 deaths in both first and third person, my playstyle is going to have to change unless I feel like guessing entirely. In first person, I simply do not have the same access to information and this is going to require me to position in ways that gives me said information, reducing my options. Its still possible to play well in first person but the difference is staggering.
I think you should train/tutor different level players and stream/upload them so we can see where we are and learn from there. It would be different and interesting like the duel analysis videos.
I love this game, but there is a really unfortunate amount of toxicity. Sure you can always mute text chat and all that but it doesn't help the root of the problem
The game has changed due to new bugs, old bugs being fixed and some mechanical changes. The community has also gradually gotten slightly better overtime, but I do mean slightly.
I'd prefer first person if it wasn't worse for performance, if you get what I mean. I'd rather 3rd isnt in the game, but that'd be ruining accessibility and whatnot, maybe.

Be sure to dip your toes into other things, Elden Ring is a lot better of a game than Chivalry 2.

It can be frustrating sometimes. But that's about the only problem I see with it.
I sometimes play in first person _so I get a front row seat to the game _*_robbing me blind_*_ of very fucking obvious hits and dodges_

I played chivalry 2 for about a week or two, trolled the chat and then got bored of it and haven’t played it since
