Where did the daughters get the name of their grandmother? After watching parts 1 and 2 Diane daughters wanted to do something special for their mom and found their grandmother very easily on facebook. Sadly I believe Zella has to be lying because Zella signed the birth certificate. It makes no sense for a "baby stealing ring" to say the baby died but keep the birth mothers real name on the birth certificate. A baby stealing ring would have taken the baby from the birth mother, tell her it died, bring it to the waiting parents in another room and have a paid off doctor sign the birth certificate with the "new parents" information. Also I dont believe she delivered the child in a hospital on her own. That makes no sense. One scream to say IM HAVING A BABY and anyone in the hallway would have heard her. And typically babies dont come flying out it takes sever hours no one checked on her??? no meds???? So...... once she delivered the baby by herself magically a nurse appeared and took the baby??? I believe she was embarrassed to be having a child out of wedlock and she didnt want to ruin her singing career having to raise a premature baby born deaf. Zella was about 25 when she gave birth to Diane... she was old enough to know better. I can see being 15 or 16 having a baby that "died" and not challenging the hospital to get a death certificate but at 25 years old she totally knew better. Also Diane was her second pregnancy first child a boy did die. And another thing if the baby was stolen it would have gone to parents, Diane was left behind and went into foster care. Zellas attorney tries to claim Diane ended up in foster care because adoptive parents gave Diane back because she was "broken" (deaf)... that's totally NUTS because this child was clearly a preemie and you mean to tell me the hospital didn't know the child was deaf but it was up to these genius adoptive parents figured it out??? hell no I call BS. And you cant just GIVE a child back after adoption there would be court records of an adoption. And if the child WAS given back that would be child abandonment and there would be records of it. GIMMEE A BREAK ZELLA...... I also read a document where the child was referred for psychological evaluation when she was about 1 and 1/2 years old. That document states clearly that Diane was born in November of 1965 but not released from the hospital til march of 1966. she was a very small sickly preemie and it took a little over 3 months for her to be healthy enough to go home. It makes sense that Zella abandoned her because she just returned to her regular life while the baby Diane was still in the hospital. over 3 months later without seeing the child she was already mentally separated from the child and just went on with her life not realizing it would catch up to her eventually. Zella should have just fessed up from the beginning,,,, THIS STORY MAKES ME SAD FOR DIANE. Zella stop singing "OH HAPPY DAY... OH HAPPY DAY" COME CLEAN TELL THE TRUTH.... ASK YOUR GOD TO FORGIVE YOU, ASK YOUR DAUGHTER TO FORGIVE YOU AND BOOM GET ON WITH YOUR LIFE. THIS.... WHAT YOU ARE DOING IS SOOOOOO WRONG. YOU DONT DESERVE THAT BEAUTIFUL GIRL TO CALL YOU MOM.
What a voice! My favorite moments in "Say Amen, Somebody" were hers, and her amazing voice still moves me. So glad to know she is still singing.
