- In this Video, Wilber Kibet Ngetich aka Olchore Lekulei explains the complex Kipsigis clan system and breaks it down for us. You will be told there are very many versions and a totem may be in more than one clan. The mix is very confusing but there is no better person to explain it than Olchore
This is very impressive knowledge.
I like the way he also admits the inadequacies of oral literature.
Please bring him back to give us sources of place maps.
This is a great exposition of culture, hope it will be documented in a book for future generation.
Lekulei you are a true linguist I love the way you understand both Nandi and Kipsigis for example when you say 'Osnet' you also say 'Timdo'.

Slight correction. Olchore ko ornyon. In fact Lupo is my great great great grandfather. He had married two wives. The 1st wife gave birth to Muso(Kamuseek), Kaoon(Kapkaoon), and Saos(Kapsaos).
2nd wife gave birth to above mentioned Kericho (Kapkerichek) and Cheboror(Chebororek).
Kapkericheek clan & Chebororek clan had settled in Kericho which was the centre for traditional medicines. But they lost their whole land to the white settlers.
Kamuseek clan traveled and settled from Sotik, Bomet and Narok.
Kapkaoon clan settled in Buretti and
Kapsaos clan settled in Belgut and all the way to Kipkelion & Londiani.
