slowing down the video so that we had enough time to study exactly what your hands were doing on the clutch up was super insightful and ridiculously helpful.
The first time I ever wheelied , my mate asked me to pick up his R1 after its first service at the dealership... he said “1st gear and give it a fistful “ .... the clocks smashed me in the face . It’s a shame this vid isn’t twenty years old ... I’d recommend anyone wanting to learn to watch this 👍.. good job fella , as always ..stay safe 👍😊
I know this is a old video but I feel like this is the best method to teach people. I mastered chasing wheelies first, then I started to lean back more to make them longer, now I’m learning foot brake . But to be honest I don’t feel like I even need the foot brake , I can hold it up for a while without it.
And chasing them is extremely dangerous..notice all the stunt guys do them at slower speeds. It's more technical when you're using you're rear brake to control your speed. And more impressive. Anyone can chase a wheelie out, that takes very little skill
By a good running beater for dirt cheap. No title even better. Just picked up a 07 gixxer600 with 22k runs sweet for 500$. No title and needs all the fairings. Perfect to beat up
Finally got brave enough to try my first power wheelies on my Z900RS. Been riding for 2 years now. On my 3rd bike. I feel it’s important to know how to control a power wheelie so that if you accidentally do one you don’t freak out and aren’t startled. Because as you buy faster and more powerful bikes they’re going to want to pick the front up when you hammer down.
The drill I see everywhere to get foot brake ingrained in your head, is to keep popping the clutch and getting the front up then hitting the rear break to bring it back down, and slowly going higher and higher until eventually u can reach balance point. Especially useful as normally when people go too far back their first instinct is to put their legs down and come off the back of the bike. However this is advice coming from someone who can't wheelie yet so what do I know 😅😂
@@sandwich.entity3810 I was only saying that because your comment said “hitting FRONT brakes”. You meant rear I believe since once your wheel is up the front brake is null.

So what gear would I use for my ninja 400? 🤔 I’ve been practicing for a few days on first gear and bringing it up a bit but I can’t seem to do it in second gear.. I’ll be trying the way you show and update my progress 👍🏼
How do you keep your legs/feet from just completely slipping off the pegs when you do bring the bike up? Do you or can you grip the tank with your knees when initiating the wheelie? Or would doing that prevent the bike from coming up? Every wheelie tutorial I watch no one mentions anything about that, they just say to cover the rear brake and to bring your butt all the way back on the seat.
Me a beast wheeling a mountain bike scared to death of doing it on a motorcycle thinking that I’d need to use the break like I do on a bike. Completely forgot about how gravity exists and motorcycles are heavy

Any thoughts??😅😐😔
With the beginner "Power Wheelie" @ the start using just the throttle does the bike just come back down by itself or do i gotta foot break a little or just let off the throttle a bit? Cheers 🙏🏿
being able to carry the same speed and balance is all i want to do with a power wheelie, clutch ups dont work for shit unless i ring the fuck out of my R1 and it makes me mad as fuck(about to get it tuned)...tired of them getting away from me through my front end coming down from running out of power band. Getting to 12 o clock coasters arent even on my radar yet lol
I do like the parking lot part of the tutorial. I don’t want to be able to wheelie well I just wanna know the basics for when I’m racing and I accidentally Wheelie which honestly doesn’t really scare me cause I’m ready on the rear brake. I just want to be familiar with different aspects of my bike and because I’m trying to learn how to drift. Wheeling amongst traffic is honestly stupid. I’ve dodged way too many near serious injury accidents which cagers cause for absolutely no reason to do this. It’s just not a good idea. I can’t tell you how many times someone has almost taking me out flying across all three lanes to the left lane just to drive straight for 10 miles and not even turn anywhere.
The biggest issue is that where I live there’s no lots like the one you’re in, and apart from the fears of dropping my boy. I get it to 8~9k, let it sit there for a second, get off the gas and then rip it, it’ll go up, but it doesn’t go that high, and it’s not for very long.
Herpil Well find a back road that’s nice and straight low traffic no house. I just run that road back-and-forth back-and-forth. Switch from throttle apps to clutch ups to see if you feel more comfortable with how the bike comes up it comes up smoother on the clutter up. With that smoothness added See if you can bring it up higher
i have an 03 600rr, i’ve tried dumping the clutch at 9k rpms, i’ve tried power wheelies, and i cannot get the front wheel up. (i am 6’2, 210lbs), any tips?
