    In Italian, the "Giu" is a soft G like in Geology. So they would pronounce it Gee-oh-co, or G. O. Co, or joke-oh if you say it fast

    • @juleslondon3088
      @juleslondon3088 Před 2 měsíci

      Yes, this - although i think joke-o is the correct pronunciation unless there are regional variations in Italy. I think chess pros like Nelson should really make the effort to pronounce the names of the common openings correctly to help others learn it if for no other reason. It also sounds a bit dumb otherwise.

    Don’t forget the trap:
    1 e4 e5, 2 Nf3 Nc6, 3 Bc4 Bc5?!, 4 Nxe4 Nxe4?, 5 d4! forking the knight and bishop. A beginner will probably try to save one of the pieces, allowing the other to be taken, though an intermediate player may see 5 … Bxd4, 6 Qxd4 with a tempo on the knight. The material is even, but white has a slight edge in development. I’ve seen this same “trap” in transpositions from other e4 openings.

    • @SometimeAngel
      @SometimeAngel Před 2 měsíci

      I guess you meant 3...Bc5 4. Nxe5?! Nxe5 5. d4 Bxd4 6. Qxd4 Nxc4 7. Qxc4 (7. Qxg7? Qf6!) Ne7 and black is at least equal. If then 8. Qd4 f6 followed by 9...Nc6 is good for black

    Hi Nelson, I’ve got a challenge for you: play Martin but, your knights are gangster knights, which means, if your both knights get captured you lose and if you lose one of the knight you have to blunder your queen!! And if you think you can put your knight on a safe square, I’m sorry you can’t so you have to move your knight every 3 moves. And last but not the least, you have to checkmate with your knight or captures the opponent’s knights with your knights without getting captured, you can do anyone of these two you want. Hope you win. Good luck 😉

  • @Mintice

    6:43 A pattern that can also be seen in Traxler Counter Attack; to give a check with the bishop is more advantageous in both cases. Nice video as always.

    Choose your opening very carefully. If u want aggressive opening and attack in the middle game, search for something that suits you, but is somewhat sane, i.e, does give the opponent over 0.5 points of advantage. For instance, play the Tal caro kann, and not alien gambit. This will mean you can play it at higher levels, and not have to worry about anything anymore

And everytime I meet someone who counters it I learn something which helps me the next time. Given after a certain elo ranking of 1600-1800 you shouldn't play it but before it is crushing, even more so in Blitz

    Trap 1: what if black goes for the fork, but takes the rook (not the knight or queen)? Seems like the rook was more important in this attack as it covers h-file.

  • @hinyuchin4724
    @hinyuchin4724 Před 2 měsíci

    1:50 those are the best move (h6 and Bxf6) and h4 is a total blunder, after hxg5, hxg5, Ng4 is the only move that wins for black and g6 is the best move for white. Black can just completely ignore it and counter with d5 (I dont think anyone without analyzing it and have a good memory can find that since it is not on the side where white is attacking). even Bxf2+ is winning. yes Nxf2 loses on the spot after Nxe5 but not worth it.
    7:30 when Bxf2+ and Ke2, stockfish just said "ignore the king and just play d6 or d5" (stockfish really likes d5 and d6), Nd4+ is still a very good move though and also when white takes the knight with Nxd4, stockfish still thinks black should just ignore the entire knight and play d5 (exd6 is -1 for black and d5 is -1.5)

      One of the defining moments in his life was during the Fischer-Spassky match in 1972. At that time, he was working at the Strand Book Store in Manhattan when he met a producer from WNET (a PBS affiliate) who was covering the match. The producer asked Pandolfini to be a TV commentator, assisting Shelby Lyman, for the “Match of the Century.”
      Shelby Lyman, a strong chess master and one of the few chess coaches earning a living during those days, encouraged Pandolfini to pursue chess teaching as a career12.
