I think it’s a great message for guys as well. Girls aren’t the only ones dealing with self worth. Lots of guys are dicks but we struggle and we go through problems I know for me I feel like I’m not good enough whenever my best friends end up leaving. I know now that I’m enough for the ones that do stay.

I think that young girls these days (my young daughter, was blessed with her late in my life, seems to have listened to me on this, to an extent) think they know what men 'want', but they really don't. I heard this song for the first time tonight and it brought me to tears. I'm a father of a 12 year old boy that is going through a lot of "body" issues, for lack of a better word. This video/song is such an incredibly powerful voice to explain something I've been trying to convey for years.

I used to have social anxiety. What helped me was working in restaurants and coffee shops and just completely immersing yourself in social situations until you realize that there is nothing to be scared of. I’m still shy around new people though, but made huge strides. You can do it :)

One month ago on the 12 of November I was done trying to be pretty, it was so hard and I still got bullied. I had the pills in my hand. I wanted to listen to a song right before I took my life. I went on CZcams and this song popped up. I clicked on it and while I was writing my suicide note I really listened to the song. I crumpled up the note. I threw away the pills. I will never forget the day I went into therapy one morning and my therapist showed me the song for the first time. I cried as I listened to it, as I took in it's message. Without any effort at all, I am beautiful as I am, and I shouldn't have to try and change any part of me for anyone else's approval. I should learn to love myself as I am. I've had so many therapists before this one in specific, and she was so helpful. She is a huge part of the reason why I am confident and I love myself the way I do now, and I will always be grateful for her. ❤

I don't think the video is meant to dissuade people who like make up or who use it. It's a reminder that you don't have to always hide with it. But if it is what helps you, then continue with it and keep working on gaining confidence. I hope things work out for you. Just like people shouldn't judge those who don't wear makeup, neither should they judge those who chose to wear it.

Sunshine Cutie cheer up! I never tried to fit in when I was a teen.my parents can't afford things that weren't in trend and I never asked because I was grateful for what i had. I had acne and never wore makeup until 12th grade.didnt have a phone until 11th grade. Had one or two friends but never talked deeply or hung out with. People never really cared because they all had their social cliques. I was the odd one out. Didn't participate in anything, wasn't athletic, emo,smart, couldn't connect with anyone. Didn't care what anyone thought, didn't let my parents worry and I graduated and moving on to my college life just pursuing what I love because at the end of the day you love yourself! Yes I had insecurities, people looked at me poorly, always asked me are you okay. I always answered I was okay and deep down I wasnt. I didn't even try belonging into because I didn't wanna be fake. So it takes time too!take care of youself!♡

I think it's sad that so many people are missing the point. The message isn't that you shouldn't try at all in life. It's that you shouldn't try to be someone you're not, or feel the need to cover up and add fake things in order to feel like you're beautiful. If you ask a lot of women, they're going to tell you that they don't feel pretty without makeup, or hair extensions, or fancy clothing, or fake nails, or a plethora of other things that society deems necessary for a woman to be considered attractive. THAT is what this video is addressing. It's not saying "Don't exercise!", "Don't work hard in life!", or "Don't try to be the best person you can be!" It's saying "Love the skin you're in without needing all of the additives to make yourself feel pretty! You're beautiful as you are, and the only approval you should need to feel attractive, is your own!" The point is that women should love themselves naturally, and feel comfortable not having to put on a different face in order for the world to accept them.

As a grown man, with two young daughters, and a beautiful wife, I think every single one of these women look so much more beautiful as themselves. I LOVE that my wife doesn't do tons of makeup and stuff. I've had girlfriends that did before, and now that I've been with my wife for 10+ years, I'm so glad she's not like that. I love her natural beauty and hair. Men need to stop wanting airbrushed, fake women, and recognize the Goddesses standing in front of them for what they are.
